    Fuck you Jennings.

James Harden makes that shot in half the time.

Ugh. Real, real bad loss tonight. Waiters played well down the stretch, but that's about it.

Yeah...Waiters looked good, they got a couple of big 50/50 balls late and Boobie hit a big 3...but Gee forced one, couldn't foul Telfair and Irving showed a little youth....and still about won it.

Didn't get to watch and damn glad that was the case. How you blow a lead that big to the Suns is beyond me.
  • sjmvsfscs08
I haven't watched much this year, and you all fill me in?

Waiters is averaging 17ppg. He looks like a keeper, a #2 to pair for Irving for the next decade? Tough to tell in six games, but he looks bright?

How is Thompson doing? He seems to have slightly improved.
  • Mulva
Dion has looked good for the most part. Streaky, but when he gets hot he's been unstoppable. Thompson doesn't look like he's improved at all. I can't point to a single area that he's noticeably better than last year.

Waiters has definitely been better than I expected, but no real surprises otherwise. Kyrie is a beast, Andy is solid, and pretty much everything else (especially the bench) is still very bad.

Waiters and Irving should be good pieces for years to come....both really know they belong and have no reason not to excel in the league.

    Pretty much sums it up

Dion has a nasty streak in him that I like. The kid's jumper was the biggest question mark coming into the season but it looks good so far

Thompson has me a bit worried, the kid doesnt seem to have "it". I know that bigs usually take longer to develop but right now he has a long way to go. I'm worried that he's going to be nothing more than 10 and 8 guy for his career. I think Zeller is already a better player than TT. I would rather see Zeller at the 5, Andy at the 4 and bring TT off the bench

I do like TT's defense and rebounding. But he has to develop that face up game and jumper or he won't amount to much.

Agree with that. I like his hustle/energy, but he isn't even a "poor man's Andy" at this point because he doesn't pass or rebound at anywhere near the same level. He's like a Tyrus Thomas with a better motor. Much more suited to come off of the bench. If the Cavs end up trading Varejao the front-court would be a mess. I was open to trading him last year, but now I feel like it would be a huge mistake. Not worth getting a mid-late first rounder.

The good news is, while I don't think the upcoming draft will end up nearly as good as this year's, most of the top prospects appear to be SF-PF-C (Zeller, Muhammed, McAdoo, Mitchell, Porter, etc) so the Cavs should be able to get an upgrade without having to reach for a position of need.

It's gotta be a sf. Easily the weakest position on the team. If we can get a sf that puts up 13-15 points a game this team will be a championship contender in a few years.

I think you're underestimating how much it takes to be a championship contender. Much easier to go from bad team to playoffs than good team to championships. Even with LeBron we only made 1 finals series, and got swept. I think Kyrie is a beast, but he's no LeBron.

I hope you're right, but I don't see it. You need at least 2 all-star level players and a solid supporting cast to even have a shot these days, and even that usually isn't enough. Does anyone really consider the Clippers to be a title contender, even with Paul, Griffin, and a deep bench? We would need to add another legit stud in my opinion to have any shot.

The Cavs are another 1-2 lottery hits at least from being a legitimate playoff contender. If Waiters, Thompson, or Zeller turn out to be the real deal, we could probably get away with 1 more piece. Even then, it would take some good meshing to win a championship.

    Griffin is trash IMO.

Trash or not....he's not the type of player typically involved on a contender.

I agree. Sooner or later this team is going to need to sign a quality free agent though, not a superstar but a very good player. If Kyrie isnt the best PG in the NBA right now he's very close and Dion looks like the real thing, these kids are only going to get better. The Cavs will have a high pick this year but I dont think it will be a top 5. The Cavs have a ton of money to spend and plenty of tradable assets, they need to use them and make a move.

I wouldnt say hes trash but he is certainly one of the most overrated players in the league.

I think they are only one good player from being a playoff contender.....to actually be a top 4 seed and advance some in the playoffs....probably a lottery pick and a good sign

I understand what you're saying, but he's legit one of the worst defenders I have ever seen. He's a cry baby QQ bitch boy, and I hate his game. He reminds me of Vince Carter in Toronto, or DeRosan there now. Empty 20 ppg. With his skill set and athleticism he should be getting 10+ boards a night and a block an d half. His basketball IQ is pretty low and might be my least favorite player to watch. Right up there with Dwade. On the spurs he'd probably come off the bench.

He averages over 11 boards per game for his career and he's one of the best passing big men in the league. His defense is bad, but the guy is still a borderline all-star.
