Pick6
I feel Waiters will benefit greatly playing alongside Kyrie. Waiters is also supposedly in shape as well now.friendfromlowry;1287561 wrote:It'll be interesting to see how Waiters turns out, if he turns it around from Summer. Gotta' imagine he's the top variable for predicting their success this season. That and the health of Irving and Varejao (if he remains on the team). -
KR1245
I heard this as well, Waiters dropped about 10lbs and Kyrie added some musclePick6;1287839 wrote:I feel Waiters will benefit greatly playing alongside Kyrie. Waiters is also supposedly in shape as well now.
I'm not sure where the Cavs will finish but I have to believe they will be an improved basketball team. Dion will better than AP, Zeller and Miles will take minutes away from guys like Cappsi, Samules, Walton, Gody etc.. -
MulvaWent to the preseason game tonight against a team from the Italian league. Nothing stood out too much aside from Samardo knocking down about 4 open mid-range Js, which was nice to see. Pretty sure he ended up leading the team in scoring.
TT had a nice semi-crossover that turned into an and-1 dunk. Probably the play of the night. -
Pick6Cavs are looking ugly tonight. down 91-65 in the 3rd.

wes_mantoothThe more and more I think about it, the more I believe that Waiters will flop. I just do not like his game at all.
-
dazedconfusedi just dont know where the scoring is going to come from for long stretches. kyrie can only do so much

KR1245
Yeah. I cant make up my mind on him either. I watched him last night and he looked lost, I also watched the game against the Bulls and he couldnt misswes_mantooth;1298258 wrote:The more and more I think about it, the more I believe that Waiters will flop. I just do not like his game at all. -
Wooball
He's a rookie. He is going to look like this most of the season, lights out one night and a bust the next. Hopefully by the 2nd half of the season he will settle in.KR1245;1298575 wrote:Yeah. RotinajWTF is up w Kyrie? Just read that he got his wisdom teeth pulled a couple days ago and is still questionable to play opening day.

It's beyond me why he decided to get his wisdom teeth out at this time. He had all summer to do this.Rotinaj;1306166 wrote:WTF is up w Kyrie? Just read that he got his wisdom teeth pulled a couple days ago and is still questionable to play opening day. -

Mine bothered me some one summer but wasn't much of an issue....one day they just started to kill and it took 3 days to get me in to have them taken out.....so I can understand how it got put off but not why he won't be ready for opening night? Hardly a professional sport but I was back to work the next evening, though I should've waited another day. -

My mouth was still bleeding 10 days later. -
ohiobucks1He could have had Wisdom Teeth like mine that were no problem til one random day when I felt like I was being punched in the top of the mouth every time I chewed.
Anyways I hope we suck this year. I want the #1 pick.
that is all -
sportswizuhrdIf you recall Blazers SF Batum signed an offer sheet with Minnesota for 4/46(which Portland matched) and turned down more money from the Cavs(4 for 52). Not sure why this is coming out now instead of over the summer but nothing we can do about it now...
By the time the day [July 1] ended, Batum says, 16 teams had called his agent, Bouna Ndiaye, to express interest. Minnesota, New Orleans, Toronto and Cleveland were most aggressive. And despite what you might think, Minnesota did not offer the most money. A source with knowledge of Batum's free agency says Cleveland offered a whopping $52 million.
"That was exciting," Batum says. "At this time, I didn't know what the rest of the league was thinking about me. I knew the Blazers loved me, wanted to keep me, but I didn't know what the other teams were thinking about me. I wanted to know who I am in this league. On July 1st, I was like, 'Wow.' "
Olshey had said on multiple occasions the Blazers would match any offer sheet for Batum. But was he bluffing? Batum didn't know.
"The thing is, I wanted to challenge them," he says. "Because I'm European. And when people say, 'We love you,' they show you they love you. That's a stupid European, French thing. But it's true. After what happened in January, I wanted them to show me they loved me."

friendfromlowryI was reading Sports Illustrated NBA preview, and they had predicted the Cavs for 12th in the eastern confernece. Best case scenario, Waiters and Irving really mesh and they make the playoffs. Worst case scenario is everyone sucks and they do in fact finish at the bottom.

Pick6Andy, TT, Gee, Waiters, and Kyrie named the starters. I think that is the best way to go.

Waiters and TT sure as hell didn't earn it.Pick6;1307384 wrote:Andy, TT, Gee, Waiters, and Kyrie named the starters. I think that is the best way to go. -
Pick6
agreed. its probably best going forward though so that they can develop together. Leaves a scoring threat coming off of the bench in Miles. Waiters has been too inconsistent be counted on coming off of the benchCommander of Awesome;1307406 wrote:Waiters and TT sure as hell didn't earn it. -
KR1245I'm not surprised by the starting lineup, just a little worried about it.
Kyrie is the only guy in that lineup that can shoot the ball. Dion needs to establish himself as a scoring threat from the outside otherwise teams will pack the paint. -
lhslep134Well I suppose now is as good a time as any to make my prediction that you all can hold me accountable for:
Overall record: 34-48, 10th in the East
MVP: Kyrie
LVP: Boobie
Player who will most surpass our preseason expectation: Tyler Zeller
Player who won't live up to our preseason expectation: Alonzo Gee
So pumped for tomorrow's game -
SportsAndLady30-52
MVP: Irving
LVP: Gee
Most surpass: Waiters
won't live up: Irving (I can see a slight, by his standard, sophomore slump)
I have Irving as MVP and won't live up because I still think he'll be our best player, just won't "take off" like I think some Cavs fans are expecting.
I really think another draft in the top 10 and this team will be set. By that I mean individually I don't think anyone will necessarily have a "bad" year, but together they just aren't talented or experienced enough to consistently win. Heading in the right path though.
