Honestly, need to trade Varejao before he comes down to earth. Hopefully Cavs draft well as there should be a great young nucleus to after this years draft. If only we can be as fortunate as OKC as others have started to allude to. -

The teams that will want Varejao don't have the ammo to give the Cavs in trade to replace the loss. We'd want a high draft pick for him, and the Pistons/Wizards aren't traded a first rounder for him. We don't want an aging player and we don't need the cap relief. Doubt he's traded. -

Okc would be the logical choice as they hold Toronto's non protected lottery pick. -

Yeah, I even mentioned them earlier in the season (after the first game I belive). Its up to them on if they want to deal that for him. My guess is they don't.

However, we arent competing and we are rebuilding. He isnt in the long-term plan for the team. Get as much value out of him while you can. We need to look at the future, not now.
Not only will be we trading him for more assets, we will also be doing worse due to trading him giving us a worse record, therefore a higher draft pick. -

All guys with the same recurring injury. As the article points out, that's not the case with Varejao. But don't let facts (or those facts that for some unknown reason you consider opinion) get in the way of your argument!
Nothing about his style of play made someone go Tonya Harding bodyguard on his wrist during a routine rebound. Guys that are “injury prone” are guys with degenerative bodies. Think of Brandon Roy, Greg Oden, or even Z before Cleveland doctors fixed him – guys that have constant, nagging issues. (you might even put Boobie Gibson and all his high-ankle sprains into that group) Varejao’s injuries range from broken wrist to dislocated shoulder to broken cheekbone. Maybe his style has something to do with it (flying into the stands and diving on the floor) but in some of these cases clearly there is some bad luck involved. If he was dealing with a nagging knee or back injury every 6 months it’d be different story. Clearly, these injuries haven’t affected his play at all. When he’s out he’s out, when he’s in he’s getting better every day, playing more minutes and at a higher usage rate with the only side effect being a spike in PER as it were. -

Then have two lottery picks to take Shabazz and Alex Len. A starting lineup of Kyrie, Dion, Shabazz, TT and Len with Gee, Lamb/Jones and Zeller off the bench.
