"I just feel bad for the fans," Rodgers said on the show. "They pay good money and the game is being tarnished by an NFL who obviously cares more about saving a little money then having the integrity of the game diminish a little bit."
They also pay good money not to see their QB sacked 8 times. I see he didn't have anything to say about that.

This is pretty much the "don't let the refs decide the game" argument, and imo it's a cop out argument. There are going to be times when both teams are fighting hard, and 1-2 plays will decide the game. This is when refs need to be on top of their game.

Don't disagree. But I've yet to hear a Packer fan say anything about anything BUT the refs. On the flip side of your statement, I think it's a cop out to only blame the refs for your loss.

Doesn't make it the wrong play.

Also we apparently differ on the definition of the words. He attempted to knock it down and wound up tipping it to the WR. He didn't knock it down.

The GB o-line blows donkey and contributed to why the Packers were in a position to lose the game. But I still place some (a much-larger-than-usual amount) of the blame on the refs as well. I shouldn't have to place any.

When you play in a close game like that, and earn the victory on the field, people tend to get emotional, especially when the victory is taken away with a piss poor call at the end of the game.

    This.

It's not like we are talking about Steelers fans here crying about every single flag every thrown against the Steelers. This was a very obvious missed call that handed the opposition the victory at the end of the game.

I think it was a TD.

If you think so, then go with it.

Maybe they should annouce that to the crowd, "After further review, I think it was a touchdown, try for point".

Chris Mortensen (via KFFL) reporting that the NFL and refs have reached an agreement, should be back for week 4.

Doesn't look like it's official yet but it's close.

It's normally taught in a hail mary situation for one receiver to be on the goal line, one 5 yards deep, and one 5 yards short. That way they can react to a tipped ball. It's easier to tip than catch, but if you have a clear angle to catch it there's no reason not to.

Week 4 as in starting tomorrow for the night game, or starting Sunday?

Thats good news for the Sunday games, but this late in the game it looks like CLE vs BAL tomorrow night would still have replacement refs.

Chris Mortensen said something like, “The worry is that for competitive advantage the Thursday game will have replacements and the Sunday games will have the regular referees, well that should not matter”. Lulz.

Bet if the game comes down to a field goal, the ball hits the stanchion and bounces back onto the playing field that the replacements somehow screw it up.

As @mortreport is reporting, an agreement between NFL and NFLRA is at hand and both sides will work to have officials working this weekend.
  • Tiernan
    That pussy Goodell has caved.

I am now hoping for this outcome.

Or all the anti-LeBron Cleveland fans bitching about every call going for the Heat.

Guarantee you if this call (Pack/Seahawks) goes against the Browns, there's nowhere NEAR the attention paid to it. It would be "those whiny bitter butt hurt Cleveland fans at it complaining again." Guaran-fuckin-teed.

ESPN analysts are all anti-LeBron Cleveland fans? They sure seemed to be sucking his dick a lot since he won the title. Almost the same amount of sucking the prior lebron haters (when he was with cleveland) have done once he moved to Miami. Nice comparison fail though.

You called out Pittsburgh....I threw it to Cleveland. ESPN was 0% of my point.

Pittsburgh has nothing to do with this...you just wanted to make a pointless generalization. I did the same.

They were both somewhat relevant, however mine was accurate, and yours wasn't.
