Especially if we can get a pick back from trading McCoy. Probably a 4th or 5th rounder.BR1986FB;1098131 wrote:Sure you do. The 3rd & 5th are crapshoots. You're banking on Heckert "hitting" in the 3rd & 5th? Remember, it's possible he could use that 3rd to draft someone like Hardesty again. That trade is a no brainer.
EDIT: Actually after rechecking it would be #4 and a 3rd this year and a 2013 1st and 5th according to what was paid for Eli. -

Probably more like a 5th or 6th....4th might be a stretch but possible.buckeyes_woowee;1098162 wrote:Especially if we can get a pick back from trading McCoy. Probably a 4th or 5th rounder. -
MulvaI'd much rather give up 22 this year than next year's 1st rounder.
But I'd be heavily against either. -
Commander of AwesomeI'd rather do the Giants type trade than give up the #22 this year. We don't get RG3, we're likely picking a QB next year with our first anyways. And who is to say we'll be as dreadful this year/a QB there we want. We get RG3, have the #22 this year, I would think we'd be picking higher than #4. Give me the giants trade any day of the week.

Agree. I think all of this "three 1st rounders" talk is bullshit. I'm starting to think it's a friggin conspiracy that BSPN and the other news outlets are trying to drive up the price with these stories because they don't want to see a talent like this in Cleveland. Maybe I'm misreading something, but I don't get that post. I'm not sure how whether we'd be picking higher than #4 next year is relevant.Commander of Awesome;1098208 wrote:I'd rather do the Giants type trade than give up the #22 this year. I know that the possibility of not getting RGIII isn't relevant, because the only reason we'd make either deal is to move up to select him. It would either be giving up 4 and 22 this year (+ 3rd and 5th), or 4 and unknown 2013 1st round pick, which I'm guessing is going to be more in the 10-15 range even with significant improvement (+3rd and 5th).
My point was that I'd rather give up the #22 this year than the #10-15 next year. You really think the Browns will pick lower than 22nd next season? THAT's the relevant pick to compare, not the #4 (which is gone in either scenario).
I don't want to trade either, but I think the 22nd pick this season is clearly the smarter pick to forfeit if you're determined to move up. -
Commander of AwesomeI'd rather draft a player at a spot we know this year, and begin developing him with RG3 and build an offense than wait a year to get RG3 (if we get him) a weapon, or wait a year and get our franchise signal caller. Esp when next year if we keep both picks and get nothing we should be picking higher than #4.
-
j_crazyWho is coming out next year?
-
AutomatikMatt Barkley and Landry Jones will be the top 2, other than that I'm not sure.
-
IggyPride00I really don't like the idea of giving up next year's number 1 instead of 22 this year.
What if we hit a patch of injuries next season, or RGIII is slow to develop, and we win 5 games again.
We then traded a top 10 pick to get the 22nd pick essentially, which is kind of retarded.
The 22nd pick is a known entity, better to trade that than the unknown of next year. -
Mulva
Tyler Bray will almost definitely be ahead of Landry Jones.Automatik;1098337 wrote:Matt Barkley and Landry Jones will be the top 2, other than that I'm not sure. -

Nah, Barkley is better than McCoy but you might be right about the other two.Footwedge;1098430 wrote:McCoy is > than all 3. -

And after hearing more on this I think the trade may be done BEFORE free agency.said_aouita;1098793 wrote:Just on Mike & Mike- Rams announced they are trading the #2 pick.

Good, we could then end the discussion about it then. That is of course other than iggy's QQ post that will surely follow.BR1986FB;1098798 wrote:And after hearing more on this I think the trade may be done BEFORE free agency. -
Commander of AwesomeI dont understand why the Rams would release this information.
-
BR1986FB
I think the Rams are trying to create a sense of urgency because if they don't do a trade BEFORE free agency the value can only go DOWN.Commander of Awesome;1098837 wrote:I dont understand why the Rams would release this information.
What if Washington says "fuck it...we're sick of dicking around with this" and signs Manning in FA? Miami then maybe pursues Flynn OR the Fins don't have nearly the ammo to offer that Cleveland does. Cleveland sits back and come draft day says "Ok...we'll give you #4 and #37" or something like that.
The Rams WORST fear is that free agency hits and some of their trade partners start gobbling up FA QB's. They KNOW that Washington's owner is a buffoon who will drop his pants for a song and they want to capitalize on that. -

Snyder is an idiot, but I don't think he is that dumb. He and other teams will most likely wait until FA to at least bring the value down.BR1986FB;1098844 wrote:I think the Rams are trying to create a sense of urgency because if they don't do a trade BEFORE free agency the value can only go DOWN.

You should be paying me rent for the amount of time I am spending in your head if your worried about what I am going to be saying already. You might want to see someone about that, it's not healthy. Why would I be worried about your QQing? You are the one making yourself look like an old bitter cry baby. If I was actually worried, you should be flattered that I cared about your reputation on an internet forum.IggyPride00;1098858 wrote:You should be paying me rent for the amount of time I am spending in your head if your worried about what I am going to be saying already. georgemc80The Rams need to think outside the box. Trade Bradford and draft RGIII. What could they get for Bradford?
-
BR1986FB
Can't do that. Their cap hit would be astronomical or I think they'd probably consider that.georgemc80;1098911 wrote:The Rams need to think outside the box. Trade Bradford and draft RGIII. What could they get for Bradford? -
Commander of Awesome
No team would want Bradford because his salary is so high. He was the last #1 pick before the the new rookie wage scale. they're tied to him regardless, and I think he can still be a good QB, but they need to keep him upright. I think they should keep the pick and take Kalil personally.georgemc80;1098911 wrote:The Rams need to think outside the box. Trade Bradford and draft RGIII. What could they get for Bradford?
