2012 MLB Random Chatter

White Sox leading the Rangers 19-0.

Chipper is now 4-4 with two doubles 3 rbi and a stolen base tonight. Just made a helluva play too.

He is two rbi from taking over as the career leader in rbi by a third baseman from George Brett and a couple of hits away from #2 on all time among switch hitters. Not too shabby.

Mets score 2 in the 9th against Jonathan "The Mets Own Me" Papelbon to beat the Phils 6-5, highlighted by two-out RBI singles from David Murphy and David (MVP?) Wright. For a team that "sucks" (according to some on this site), the Mets are now 7 games over .500 and right in the thick of the NL East playoff race.

On a side note, the fan falling was comical, but was only the second best fan shot of the night (there was a girl with tremendous yammer jammers that caught the camera man's eye) ...

PS ... props to Chipper. Guy owned us, but I respect the hell out of him.

Easy boy....the lineup was very week looking against the Reds...mix in 2 great pitchers and some young guys that are pretty decent that I just don't know a ton about.

They seem to be doing well...glad you are enjoying it.....but Mets/Phillies, two of my least favorite...sorry

Shea Jones is going to the all star game with his dad, pretty cool. :)

haha, I'll take that Ironman. I have suffered with this team for a long time (and especially since that Beltran K in the '06 NLCS), but this feels GOOD ...

That video is clearly, to me at least, "fake." The old dude adjusted himself to make contact and "fall."

Gotta admit.....if you don't follow and just look down the random lineup your like.....who, who, David Wright (oh he's really good), kinda heard of him, who, who, kinda heard, who, pitcher

Mike Trout is FLYING up the best baseball player in the world chart. He didn't come up until May and he's leading the AL in hitting and before long will be leading the majors in avg, runs and SB....and he's sensational in the OF.

Yeah Deadspin had a post last night showing him "falling" at other games.

Really can't argue with you there man, not many superstars in the lineup, but they just know how to win. Ironically, their "big hitter" (Jason Bay ... ughhh) has been out most of the season. What's amazing is that Ike Davis and Daniel Murphy are FINALLY starting to hit after rough starts, yet we are still in great shape. The unsung hero on this team is Ruben Tejada -- guy has played a flawless shortstop and is a doubles machine, including many clutch hits. Honestly, I don't miss Reyes that much ...

Not to bring fantasy baseball into this discussion, but I picked Mike Trout in the fifth round this year (Note: this is a keeper league, so all the studs are usually long gone even before the draft) and everyone thought I "reached." Yeah, guess not ... guy is a STUD.

The stuff he is doing at age 20 is incredibly rare for age 20.....and his combination of SB, power, avg, OPS...he's going off the charts.

I thought Buster Olney (I think it was him) said it best. Mike Trout isnt a 5-tool player at all. That would be an insult to Mike Trout. Mike Trout is about a 9 tool player.

Also, good pick. I have a few great ones/trades as well over the years.

Traded Prince and A-Rod in 2007 for Miguel Cabrera and Justin Upton. Drafted Kershaw before his ML Debut. Drafted Paul Goldschmidt this year (hoping it pans out as well). I was JUST ONE pick away from Harper this year in the 7th round.

Im pretty good at nabbing pitchers early in their careers. I had Lincecum as well as a rookie, for 3 years. But we have stipulations on keepers, so we cant have them for more than a certain number of years.
