The only way you have a chance to win a Super Bowl is by making the playoffs.BR1986FB;1051558 wrote:http://www.cleveland.com/sports/index.ssf/2012/01/cleveland_fans_yearn_for_compe.html -
BR1986FBThis report on the wire - Rotoworld.
"Area scouts and sources" tell SI's Tony Pauline that "a
lot of teams" have Baylor's Kendall Wright rated as the No. 1 wide receiver in
the 2012 NFL draft.
Pauline reports that "several teams," including one NFC
playoff club, have Wright rated higher than Oklahoma State's Justin Blackmon.
Blackmon is a favorite of media draftniks, but he is likely to run in the 4.5s
at 6-foot-1 and has a checkered off-field history. Wright is three inches
smaller, but will likely time in the low-4.3s and has drawn comparisons to
Carolina's Steve Smith for his combo of vertical skills and physicality in
traffic. With the Senior Bowl just over a week away, Wright may be a sleeper to
be drafted in the top ten. -
BR1986FBFound this interesting. Holmgren is a disciple of Walsh....

Mr MiyagiJerome Henderson, DB coach the last 3 years for the Browns has been hired as DB coach for the Dallas Cowboys ......as far as an offensive coordinator goes, Childress and Mike Sherman are both represented by Lamonte, the same agent that represents Holmgren, Heckert, and Shurmur......

BR1986FBI was just looking at the scheduled opponents again, for next year. I don't see why these guys can't win 7-8 games with offensive upgrades (QB, WR).
They played the AFC North tough and that leaves the NFC East (Eagles, Giants, Cowboys, Skins) and AFC West (Tebows, Chiefs, Raiders, Bolts) along with Indianapolis and either Buffalo or Miami.
If they go 3-3 or even 2-4 against the division I could see 7-8 wins there. Before you all say I'm nuts, they could've gone 5-1 in the division this year if they had anything CLOSE to an offense. -
BR1986FB[h=2]Rob Ryan vs. Campo vs. Jauron[/h]Jan 13th, 2012 @ 6:15 pm by Steve Doerschuk
CAMPO vs. ROB RYAN
The Cowboys “retired” Dave Campo six months before his 65th birthday.
Campo’s boss in 2011 was Coordinator Rob Ryan, who raided Cleveland’s coaching staff to give Jerome Henderson Campo’s job as defensive backs coach.
Both Ryan and Campo were Browns defensive coordinators for two years.
Ranking their seasons with the Browns:
1, Campo in 2003, No. 15 in the NFL, 309.9 yards a game
2, Campo in 2004, No. 15, 325.9
3, Ryan in 2010, No. 22, 350.1
4, Ryan in 2009, No. 31, 389.3
• Campo’s pair of No. 15 defenses had been the highest-ranked Browns units of the expansion era prior to this season.
Coordinator Dick Jauron’s 2011 unit is the new champ, ranking No. 10. The 2011 Browns gave up more yards than Campo’s defenses, though, 332.4 yards a game.
• Jauron loved the way Henderson was developing cornerback Joe Haden.
“Jerome does a terrific job with him,” Jauron said during the season.

BLACKMON’S FLAWS
Like most scouts, Pro Football Weekly’s Nolan Nawrocki rates Oklahoma State wideout Justin Blackmon near the top of the draft.
Nawrocki’s detailed report notes a few flaws, though. Namely:
“Average initial quickness off the line … lacks top-end speed to separate. Shows some tightness in his hips and is not a creative or elusive runner in the open field.
“Does not power through contact. Production is inflated from a spread offense that does not require receivers to run a full route tree.”
• Nawrocki is among scouts rating Andrew Luck high above the clouds. His bottom line on the Stanford QB:
“A perennial Pro Bowl talent who is as NFL-ready as any quarterback to emerge from college in decades.”
If you’re a Browns fan, does that make you wish 4-12 had been 1-15?
• Pro Football Weekly’s Nolan Nawrocki ranks the seniors entering the April draft. The top Ohio State player is center Mike Brewster at No. 47. The top-ranked Ohio college player is Miami tackle Brandon Brooks at No. 27.
Nawrocki’s top senior quarterbacks are Stanford’s Andrew Luck at No. 1 overall, Texas A&M’s Ryan Tanehill at No. 20, Oklahoma State’s Brandon Weeden at No. 40 and Michigan State’s Kirk Cousins at No. 49.

DeyDurkie5Every year these scouts find little flaws in someone's game. I'm sure the same detailed flaw list was brought up about AJ green. I don't put any sort of stock in that shit, if he passes the eye test and looks like a reciever, then he can play in the NFL. simple as that.

Mr Miyagi
Walsh never took a QB in the first round, Montana in the 3rd round in '79 and traded a 2nd and 4th to Tampa Bay for Steve YoungBR1986FB;1051595 wrote:Found this interesting. Holmgren is a disciple of Walsh....

The point was, the Niners HAD their QB. The Browns DON'T. They will continue to look until they find THE guy. He listed the QB as the most important player when building a team. The Browns STILL don't have that piece.Mr Miyagi;1052042 wrote:Walsh never took a QB in the first round, Montana in the 3rd round in '79 and traded a 2nd and 4th to Tampa Bay for Steve Young -
OQBI'd like to see them bring in Sherman to be OC, and then draft Tannenhill to replace Colt.

+ 1 dude. I've seen the dude play at a hight level. He passes the eye test and catches everything. Dude is legit. There is a HUGE difference in 40 speed and football speed. Football speed is all I care about.DeyDurkie5;1051980 wrote:Every year these scouts find little flaws in someone's game. I'm sure the same detailed flaw list was brought up about AJ green. buckeyes_wooweeWhat I would love to happen is the Browns move back in the first (10-15) and pick up another 2nd rounder and a first next year.
Sign Matt Flynn and a veteran WR
1st round : David DeCastro and Vontaze Burfict
2nd round: Mohamed Sanu and LaMichael James -

Doubt you'd get that much back. The return for the #4 would probably be about the #10 pick + 2nd rounder. If you dropped all the way to 15 you might add a future 2nd rounder, but I doubt you'd get another 1st.buckeyes_woowee;1052317 wrote:What I would love to happen is the Browns move back in the first (10-15) and pick up another 2nd rounder and a first next year.
Looking at the trade value chart, when the Browns traded back in 2009 they gave up the 5th pick (1700 pts) for the 17th (950), 52nd (2nd round, 380 pts) and a few throw in players. 1700 to 1330 + players. Didn't even get another 1st going from 5 to 17.
Last year the Browns traded #6 overall (1600 pts) for #27 (680), 59th (2nd round, 310), 124th (4th round, 48) and a future 1st and 4th rounder. That's 1600 to 1038. The future 4th is worth < 50, and discounting the future 1st it would be worth around 500 (assuming the #27 pick again), so the math adds up.
Trading down even from #4 (1800) all the way to #15 (1050) + a 2nd (#47, 430) gives you 1800 to 1480. Doubtful you add another 1st round pick on top of that, unless you find a really desperate trading partner. And unless RGIII is still on the board I don't think you will. -

Doesn't matter, the 9ers changed their system to fit their QBs strengths. This is something the Browns have never done, and why I stopped being a fan. If the Browns don't take Richardson at #4 they're idiots. Mindboggling to me that Browns fans don't see this.BR1986FB;1052165 wrote:The point was, the Niners HAD their QB. The Browns DON'T. if you stopped being a fan, don't post on the thread. Seems pretty simple.thedynastyl988;1053154 wrote:Doesn't matter, the 9ers changed their system to fit their QBs strengths. There are already pages of point on why you shouldn't take Richardson. I might suggest reading them.thedynastyl988;1053154 wrote:Doesn't matter, the 9ers changed their system to fit their QBs strengths. Is being unintelligent one of them? He is the only sure fire star that will come out of the draft. He will be a big name for the next 15 years winning SBs. Browns will just set themselves back another 5 years if they don't draft him.Pick6;1053161 wrote:There are already pages of point on why you shouldn't take Richardson. I might suggest reading them. -

Running backs are expendable. How many top 5 pick running backs are leading their team to a super bowl right now?thedynastyl988;1053163 wrote:Is being unintelligent one of them? Arian Foster- undrafted
Kevin Faulk? Green Ellis? 2nd and undrafted
Ray Rice- second round
Gore- 3rd round
Bradshaw/Jacobs? 7th and 4th rounder
Ryan Grant/ James starks? undrafted and 6th round.
point proven. -
thedynastyl988Oh so you're telling me you wouldn't take AP? Richardson is a cut above any of those RBs. Thoughts like this is why the Browns are consistently in the basement of the AFC North. This is why my Dad and I don't even watch the Browns anymore.

considering he is injury prone and currently has a torn ACL, nope. How many games did he win the Vikings this year?thedynastyl988;1053179 wrote:Oh so you're telling me you wouldn't take AP?
