Cleveland Cavaliers 11-12 season thread

I think any team can use AV, and I think he'd help the lakers. But I don't see what the Lakers could give up to acquire either.

At first glance I'm thinking I'd rather have Austin rivers. I don't know much about the guard from Washington. Is he pretty sweet

But then again, it wouldn't really surprise me to see a move. I don't really want AV, but Ramon might be ok.
I'd imagine Mike Brown would love to get AV back on his team.
Not quite sure why Laker fan would be enticed by Ramon Sessions. The guy doesn't play defense and doesn't like to pass. If the Cavs could get one of those 2 1st rounders I'd think Grant would be crazy not to move Sessions. As Irving matures, you are going to need less and less minutes out of your back-up point.
I wouldn't trade AV. I don't think you can get his value back. Only contending teams are going to want to trade for him, so you are going to get a pick in the mid to late 20's. He is worth more than that. Also, with some luck and a nice free agent signing or trade, the Cavs COULD be ready to make a move NEXT YEAR.

Adding another 1st round pick, even if it is in the mid 20's, would give the Cavs some serious ammunition heading into the 2012 draft. They currently have:
Their own 1st and 2nd round - They do not currently owe and picks out for future drafts
The Kings 1st round pick (highly protected through 2017, but still a tradeable asset)
The Hornets 2012 2nd round pick - could be the 1st pick in round 2
The Heat first round picks in 2013 and 2015

If they can acquire another mid to late 1st for this year, they have the bullets to fire to trade back up into the 1st half of the draft to get a 2nd player they desire. Or, they could use all their picks in this deep draft to add some young depth.

    Acquire picks and get worse.

    Win freaking win

Cavs need to get a top 5 pick. Any of those top 5 in that mock draft would be a huge boon to the Cavs rebuilding efforts.

    Terrence Ross: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/51075/terrence-ross

6'6, bout 200 lbs. Averaging 15 pts and 6 rebounds on the year. Haven't seen him play, but stats seem to show he's got a good, but not great, shooter. Averaging more turnovers per game than assists per game on the year though.

nbadraft.net right now has the Cavs at 10 taking a combo forward out of Miss St.: Arnett Moultrie

    Right now, I'd like Moultrie.

Watched Ross play in person on Saturday at 'Zona. He's really really good, and going to make a good pro. He's got an all around game, high motor, and good basketball IQ.

Not only playing but averaging 18 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists. Cavs need to make a move before someone else picks him up. Mychel Thompson isn't the spark off the bench they need.

Entertaining 4th quarter. Didn't go exactly how I thought it would, but 8-12 is right where I had this team pegged at the end of January.

Brutal 8 game stretch to start February, but 6 of them are at home so it'll be interesting to see how these guys compete.

I predicted 8 wins by the end of march....

AV hangs a 20-20 on Boston tonight. He sucks tho.

I'm rooting for the Cavs to lose and for AV and Jamison to play well so we can ship each of them off for picks. Jamison might be able to garner a late 1st, and AV could net a high pick in the draft.

If the Cavs get a top 5 pick, we are set and will be competitive very quickly.

It's definitely more then I would have guessed at the beginning of the season, but 8-12 is what I came up with heading into the huge road trip to start the month (with the benefit of seeing them play 5 or 6 games by that point).

Before the year I predicted 18-48. I don't think the bottom is going to drop out that badly.

Nobody wants Jamison and the Cavs are not getting a top 5 pick. Not surprised you are rooting for them to lose though.

    I did. Can't you read?

Half the board wants him shipped out of here. Clueless. They need to keep this guy...have Sully declare...and then draft him.

Sorry, not all of us are fans of large market teams who can attract big name players. Some teams have to actually build through the draft.

And Im not a big fan of Jamison, but I guarantee somebody will take him.

And seriously, we need to get Harris out of the D-League now. I thought he showed some potential last season and he was just named D-League player of the week. Forget Mychel Thompson, and bring Harris up before he gets away. Just like Green did.

No thanks on Sully. We have Tristan Thompson at the same position..they need wing players.
