The Raiders kicked the Browns butt with Kyle Boller as the QB. I'm glad your glad the Browns aren't doing anything because they aren't doing anything and haven't since they came back.

Honestly can't believe I'm saying this but he's right. It could maybe have happened for a 2nd but most likely not. Mike Brown made it so he'd have to be overwhelmed to get rid of Palmer, and he finally got something too good to pass up. I still think he had to get a boost from Marvin or someone to pull the trigger, though. This was not a bidding war, it was a wait to see if someone was dumb enough to give up something outrageous.

Its only dumb if Palmer doesn't perform well in Oakland for the remainder of his contract and on how the players the Bengals draft end up being.

No its still dumb. They gave a up 2 first rounders for a guy who at best plays 5 more seasons. I would think he plays 3 more realistically. They also wasted a 3rd round pick on a QB in the supplemental draft who now will continue to be buried on the depth chart. Doesn't make sense any way you look at it. 2 first rounders are supposed to 2 stars/foundations for you team moving forward. They sacrificed that for an unknown.

The players the Bengals draft have no relevance on what the Raiders would have done if they had the picks. It was a horrible trade.

The point he was trying to make was Carson's highest value was a 3rd round pick, not 2 first rounders. Wouldn't expect you to comprehend that, nice fail dumbass.

The Raiders offense didn't even score with Boller dumbass, another fail. Glad you are so worried about the Browns though, this thread has nothing to do with them. Keep up the trolling. Who is your favorite team that you obviously don't pay attention to? The Packers?

Wow, first I agree with skyhook, now I mostly agree with COA. To be fair, right now its a first and a second rounder. The only way the Raiders look ok is if they win the division a few times or at least make an afc championship game.

What does this thread have to do with the Browns? If you think trading away your first round picks for a middle tier QB who has missed the first 7 weeks of the season is doing something to help your organization then you are an idiot. You have quickly become part of the OC idiot team recently. Why don't you go QQ because someone has made fun of former OSU QBs. "Boo hoo Troy Smith should be a starting QB in the NFL." "QQ TP is not a thug QQ!"

This. Don't expect the simple minded skyhook to understand that. The Raiders may not even win their division once let alone a few times.

Thats what I said "if he performs well" winning 2 Division Titles and making it to an AFC Championship game would be doing well.

Its 1 first rounder and how do you know what a 1st round pick will end up doing? Oh I forgot all 1st rounders do well... insert several Bengal and many other 1st round picks who failed!! Isn't that more of an "unknown" than a guy who has 7 season's under him???? Nice try commander of fail

You got me there, with the Bengal's scouting department they will probably just waste them.

Kudos to the Bengals for this raping (Roethlisberger would be proud).

This probably set the Browns chances of moving up in the division back. Bengals are developing a real nice young roster.

Hue Jackson may be the biggest idiot on the planet for pulling the trigger on this trade and claiming it "the greatest trade in NFL history."

Last 3 years the Bengals have made some VERY nice picks with their 1st-3rd rounders. If you hit on those consistently over a few years and sprinkle in a few hits in the later rounds, you're going to get pretty good, pretty quickly.

point is dumb fuck, who gives a shit if they over payed for a player. It obviously gives them the best chance to win. Seeing that its mostly Browns fans that I see on here making a huge deal out if, they need to take notes. Thats why your team is shit. You dont pay the face of your franchise, you dont spend money on FAs. You have a loyal fan base, and its obvious Lerner is more concerned with making money and not actually producing a good product on field. Yet, you are all delusional saying "we are building for the future." Its been how many fucking years since the Browns have been back? How long does it take to "build"? LOL. Take notes, you have to take risks to win in this league.

And nice fail putting words in my mouth. Typical OC douche bag way.

More QQing I see. If you don't like the OC then GTFO, we all can live without you getting your panties in a bunch.

Also the Raiders obviously don't give a fuck they overpaid for a player, ask them that question in two years when they had one playoff appearance AT BEST (doubt they get it), and they are back to square one to being the joke of the league because they gave up their draft picks. You don't throw the future of your franchise away unless you are making a move that is going to win you a SB. Carson Palmer doesn't even guarantee them a playoff appearance. You take risks in the draft mostly, and then when you have the pieces you can make a move in FA. The Packers, Steelers, and Pats all built their teams through the draft. Nice fail.

How has the FA thing work out for the Cowboys lately? lolfail. I am sure you only became a fan of the cowboys when they won their last SB (that was the first year you were old enough to remember an NFL season), but I will give you some history on your own team. They won all those SBs because they traded for a bunch of draft picks. Where do you think Smith, Aikman, and Irvin came from? Maybe they should have traded all those picks for Randall Cunningham. Would you think that is a good move if they didn't make the playoffs, or just made the playoffs once, and set the franchise back at least 5 years? I wish you were the GM of the Steelers, Ravens, or Bengals, because I wouldn't have to worry about one of those teams making any good moves.

A Cleveland fan calling the Raiders the "the joke of the league." Now thats rich.

I thought that title belonged to the Bengals?

No matter how anyone wants to spin it, what Oakland gave up was idiotic. The first round pick alone is insane, but the conditional pick paired with it that could end up a first rounder puts it over the top.

So now next year they have zero picks in the first four rounds iirc. Um yeah....idiotic.

Browns shitty or not, the Raiders have been the butt end of everyone's jokes the past 8 years.

    1. Boller actually led the drive that ended up in the fake FG. Technically, he was responsible for the drive.
    2. The Raiders actually acquired the Bengal fan base for 2 years. The conditional pick goes from a second rounder to a first rounder if the Raiders make the AFC Championship game. See...all you Bengal fans thought you cheered your last game for Carson! The irony is too rich.
    3. I didn't realize there were so many sooth-sayers on here, predicting how the Raiders will perform so poorly over the next few years. Got any relevant predictions to go along with worthless football guesses?

Carry on, though. I enjoy guffawing at those that have never experienced championship seasons and yet...have ALL the answers. If only Lerner and Brown would subscribe to the OC!! :o

At #2, thats not many fans.

Anyway, so you are saying you like the trade? Let me know after the season if you like it, then let me know after 2 years.

This. Dalton, AJ Green, Gresham, Dunlap, Maulaluga, Leon Hall, etc. They have a nice young core. Take a big time RB next year and we'll be dangerous for a number of years

Raiders made a ballsy move for sure. Definitely paid a premium. I wouldn't be as hard on them if they hadn't traded away picks previously, but the amount of picks they have is downright embarrassing. You have to build through the draft
