SportsAndLadyDe Rossi would be a good pickup for Chelsea.
-
Laley23Rossi is gone. Villareal has shopped him to Milan, Inter, Madrid, Barca etc. They all turned him down for the asking price (and some went after other players). But Villareal will deal him, and it is 99% certain it will be Juve. Talks dont go on this long, this in depth to not have a deal come out of it.
I also cant wait for the Cesc deal to end. I agree with Johan Cruyff. Just give Arsenal the money they want and bring the kid back home. Everyone wins, and you have some pieces you can sell to make up the difference. It will be ridiculous if Barca stay stubborn and go through this again in summer 2012. -

Especially with Porto saying theres no way we get Falcao
Another part to the Sneidjer Rumor:
UPDATE: The latest on the Sneijder-to-Manchester-United front is a possibility that Inter would be interested in including Nani as part of the negotiation.
The Italian club would ask Manchester United to include the Portuguese winger in the deal that would send Wesley Sneijder to Old Trafford, according to Caught Offside.

Manchester United could be just days away from signing star midfielder Wesley Sneijder from Inter Milan, the Mirror's Bob Cass and Mark Ryan report.
United is prepared to pay up to $60 million for the Dutch national teamer but the sticking point right now is salary, according to the pair.
Sneijder will likely demand over $20 million per season, but the Red Devils have no desire to pay him more than top earner Wayne Rooney. -

The rumors of Cesc to Barca started the summer of my Freshman year of college, will it ever end? Arsenal needs a heck of a lot more than just a central midfielder, just sell him! -

He says he wants to be closer to his daughters. He flip flops about what he wants every month it seems like though. -
ohiobucks1Why do South American players never seem bring their families to Europe with them??

Its ridiculous. Barca dont need him per se. But they have no depth, compared to the rest of the top clubs. They are VERY lucky their offensive players have all stayed healthy the last 3 years (relatively speaking) to carry the load. If a key guy had gone down, they would have been in trouble. Their defense without Abidal, Pique, and Puyol when a given guy was out was horrendous. But they never got tested cause of Xavi and Iniesta. But they NEED some depth. Guys wont play 50 games a year forever.
As for Arsenal....Cesc is a great player, and their best. But he isnt winning shit for them. Just not that type of player anyway, but also because they dont have enough around him. They should give in and sell (Barca should also give in and buy lol) and use the money on 2-3 other A-list players, who are younger and wont cost as much. -

Agreed 100%
With that in mind Wenger either needs to change his style (stop playing youth in the Carling and FA cup) or hes going to be out pretty soon. They need to win some silverware soon. -
ohiobucks1Well it looks like Tevez is on his way back to South America.

hoops23Dejan Stankovic said that Sneijder isn't going anywhere.. Even bet a "pizza and a beer" during the interview lol... I like ManU, but I've grown to love Inter Milan even more. So I'm hoping he stays put.
It'd definitely be a huge get for ManU and a tough loss for Inter, who with Sneijder would be legit threats to win their 5th Serie A title in 6 years...
I'll offer up some early predictions as well:
Serie A:
1. Inter (more of me wanting them to win it, but it depends on Sneijder)
2. Milan
3. Napoli
La Liga:
1. Barca
2. Real Madrid (Though I do think it may be even tighter than it was last season between these two..)
EPL:
1. ManU
2. Chelsea
3. Man City
I think Chelsea and Man City keep pace with ManU, but if ManU does land Sneijder I don't think there is anyway they don't win the EPL, barring injury. I think they are safe bets even if they don't land him. -
ohiobucks1More Cesc Rumors:
Here's a good one to understand the obsession around the rumored move for Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal to Barcelona.
While there are still no definitions and Arsene Wenger wants to keep his captain at the Emirates Stadium, the Spanish press continues to see signs everywhere.
To the fact that Cesc didn't pose in the new Arsenal shirt photo shoot and after the midfielder didn't join the team on their tour of Asia, now Spanish newspaper Sport looks into the new Barcelona squad numbers announced on the club's official website.
Earlier on Monday, youngster Thiago Alcantara was listed fourth in order, suggesting he will be wearing that number on his shirt. However, once you click on his profile, there is no number on display, unlike what happens with the rest of the players. The club has now changed it to show Thiago Alcantara last in that roster. That won't stop Sport suggesting it is still a clear indication that Barcelona is keeping the number four shirt reserved for Fabregas. -
ohiobucks1Potential Snag to what looked like a done deal of Tevez to Corinthians:
UPDATE: A new problem appeared in Carlos Tevez's transfer from Manchester City to Corinthians.
The Brazilian club released a statement on their official website in which it informs that Manchester City sent a different proposal overnight with some changes in the total fee and the payment methods. This happened after reports in the UK media considered the transfer was completed.
Still looks as if all parties involved want this deal to take place, but we shouldn't rule out a total breakdown in negotiations. -
ohiobucks1Final Rumor of the day:
With Tevez seemingly going home, this makes sense to me.
Argentina's early elimination at the Copa America has accelerated the negotiation process and Sergio Aguero could know his destination this week, with everything pointing at a move from Atletico Madrid to Manchester City.
Jorge Lopez , a journalist who works for Argentine newspaper Ole, said on Twitter that Sergio Aguero will play for Manchester City.
Aguero said many times that he is not going back to Atletico Madrid, so if Real Madrid is not willing to buy him and he doesn't want to go to Juventus, then Manchester City could be the only possible destination for him. -
ohiobucks1Interesting Tidbit about Messi:
Argentina's early exit at the Copa America means that Lionel Messi, the best player in the world, will take a few days off before he joins his Barcelona teammates on their U.S. tour.
The highlight of that tour will be Messi's appointment at the White House with U.S. President Barack Obama, who recently referred to Lionel Messi when he was given the Colorado Rapids number 10 shirt.
The meeting is expected to take place after Barcelona lands in Washington DC on August 28, reports Spanish newspaper As. -

True, but I was never a Chamakh fan, he was too much of a poach for me. -
Laley23I cant stand all these Cesc rumors and press battles between Wenger and Barcelona. Just meet in person, hammer out a fucking deal, and get this shit done...one way or the other.
-
ohiobucks1I agree. Get it done.

ohiobucks1Time for the rumors of the day:
Tevez saga:
UPDATE: Word coming out of Corinthians is that Manchester City is inflexible when it comes to payment methods and that could make Carlos Tevez transfer impossible at the time being. The problem is that Corinthians only have until Wednesday before the transfer window is officially over in Brazil and they may have to wait until January to sign the Argentine forward who already won one league title with Corinthians in 2005. Manchester City wants Corinthians to make one $57 million payment effective at the time of signing and according to Corinthians' Sporting Director Duilio Monteiro Alves, reports Brazilian website UOL.
City scare?
The most feared aspect of pre-season tours is the possibility of players getting injured. That is what happened to Yaya Toure of Manchester City.
He had to leave the friendly in which Manchester City defeated Vancouver Whitecaps 2-1 with an ankle injury.
Though it is believed not to be a serious injury, the Ivory Coast international will need further tests in the next couple of days to determine the real extent, reports Manchester Evening News write Stu Brennan on Twitter.
According to the Daily Mirror, manager Roberto Mancini is confident it is not a serious injury.

Shay Given out at city
UPDATE: A move we have anticipated has been made official. Shay Given goes from Manchester City to Aston Villa and signs a five-year contract.
Aston Villa is the sixth English club in the Republic of Ireland international goalkeeper's career. If he stays until the contract runs out, he will be 41 years-old. -
ohiobucks1Arsenal Tidbit:
As it's always the case with high-profile international competitions, the Copa America has been a great shop window for young and little-known players. Perhaps the biggest winner is Costa Rica's Joel Campbell.
After he took part in the Concacaf Gold Cup, he joined the U23 team Costa Rica sent to Argentina for Copa America. He had a superb performance with one goal included against Bolivia and is now on Arsenal's radar. A 19-year-old striker Campbell has been compared to Cameroonian legend Samuel Eto'o and is going to represent Costa Rica at the FIFA Youth World Cup in Colombia, which starts later this month.
However, only one day after Campbell's father said his son was only a medical exam away from the Gunners, it appears he has now changed his mind.
"We have decided we will not sign anything yet. We have other offers on the table that are being analyzed. We hope to go to the (Youth) World Cup and that Joel plays well without pressure. We'll see what happens", is what Humberto Campbell told newspaper La Nacion as reported by Sky Sports.

ohiobucks1Does this signal the end of Aguero at Atletico?
After he was linked with a move to the English Premier League, Brazilian offensive midfielder Diego is now closer to join Atletico Madrid.
The former Santos and Juventus play-maker could be let go by Wolfsburg and Atletico Madrid would have no problem in affording a transfer fee, regardless of when, where to or for how much they sell Sergio Aguero.
Spanish newspaper As reports Diego's attitude, which includes a disappearing act on the eve of a key game for Wolfsburg after he found out he was going to be a sub, is playing a big part in the German team willing to let him go.

ohiobucks1hope he goes to Maccabi Tel-Aviv...my team
EDIT: Says Tel-Aviv is the rumored team!
Toronto FC and Maccabi Tel-Aviv could be on the verge of a players swap that would send Julian De Guzman to Israel in exchange for Argentine-born Israel international Roberto Colautti.
According to One.co.il, there are still some details to be sorted out and one bigger issue in that Colautti could be willing to stay in Israel.
If it happens, this could be the fourth different country in De Guzman's career after spells in Germany and Spain and of course, his native Canada. -
MulvaI wish Aguero would stay at Atletico. Probably my favorite club outside of Portsmouth. He had a big season last year picking up Forlan's slack.
Seems a little ridiculous to me that Man City won't accept anything other than $57 million up front. Not every club is owned by a Sheik worth $10 billion or whatever his net worth is. -

I agree. The rumor is they wanted to pay over 2 years in 4 installments...thats not so bad.
