I wonder if his real name is Justin Brown. He didnt play D-3 basketball for a community college did he? -

I have heard that they may factor in team's records over the last 3-5 seaons, not just the most recent season. -

lmfao, that isn't even close to being as fair as just using the same order as the previous years draft.Wooball;804730 wrote:I have heard that they may factor in team's records over the last 3-5 seaons, not just the most recent season. -

Fair and the NBA don't exactly go hand-in-hand. Currently, when this question has come up Stern has basically avoided the question, saying they will address it if it comes up. I would imagine it would be something that they would look at during the new labor talks if they miss all of 2011/2012. -

Well see. A league full of entitled players who only care about getting theirs is going to have a hard time giving up what's theirs. Couple that with owners whose teams are nothing more than pawns of the regular season bc they aren't in NYC or have a beach....this is going to be ugly -

I don't disagree, and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see them miss games this fall/winter. But I'd expect for them to come up with something before they lose the entire season. -

And the Gasols, and Bargnani, and Parker, and Z, and Okur, and Kirilenko, and Peja, and to a lesser extent even guys like Diaw, Calderon, Dragic, and Biedrins haven't been terrible. And that's just recently.
Obviously going back you have Petrovic, Schrempf, Sabonis, etc.
Euros get a bad rap because of a few huge busts, but in reality while they aren't going to be making any top 10 lists, many of them have been very solid players.
With this draft I think "solid" is all you can hope for, even from a top 5 pick.
Who did you hear that from? There's no way.robj55;804037 wrote:From what I have read Jonas is by far the best athlete in the draft
Agree with whoever said Vesely is the best Euro athlete. Biyombo is definitely the best athlete of the foreign players, and DWilliams or Alec Burks is probably the top athlete overall.
I think that's much more fair. Why should a team get 2 straight #1 picks when they only had 1 terrible season?like_that;804734 wrote:lmfao, that isn't even close to being as fair as just using the same order as the previous years draft. -

If the goal is parity in the league, 2 top 5 picks in consecutive years would do well for the teams at the bottom. Plus, its a lottery system anyway, so its about as fair as your going to get.I think that's much more fair. Why should a team get 2 straight #1 picks when they only had 1 terrible season? -

Wouldn't using average records from the past 3 seasons give a more accurate read into who the true "teams at the bottom" have been than a single year?
If you want parity, than a team that has been bad for 5 years should be given more weight than a team that had been one of the best in the league for years and had a single (incredibly) bad season. -

Stern doesn't talk about the lockout. Why would he talk about a very dark thing such as a lockout? If it comes, he'll talk about it. But there's no point for him to keep talking about it now. -
jordo212000I'm not a fan of the fact that the lottery is so secretive. I want to see them announcing the order as the "ping pong" balls come out. I don't trust Stern to keep things on the up and up. Some sketchy stuff seems to happen a little too often for my liking

not with the way 1 or 2 players can make a difference.Mulva;804814 wrote:Wouldn't using average records from the past 3 seasons give a more accurate read into who the true "teams at the bottom" have been than a single year?

do you think the cavs, jazz, rockets etc should get worse picks than the knicks, grizz, blazers etc -

I think your first statement kind of plays right into my point. If 1 player can make that big of a difference, why should a team be rewarded for being the worst team in the league by getting to select the top pick 2 consecutive times having only "earned" the spot once?
If the 2nd teams listed had lower average winning percentages over the past few seasons, then yes, I believe they should have a "better" pick. It isn't an ideal situation, but I think it's absurd to even consider rewarding a team for sucking for one season should a lockout occur by presenting them with another #1, 2, 3, etc. overall pick, because they will have already cashed in on that suckness in the draft this season. -
hoops23If the season is canceled, I don't think the same order should be used.
I do think the same records should be used with a new lottery drawing however...
Also, the Cavs wouldn't have two picks anymore, I've seen some people think that the Cavs would still own the Clippers pick, not the case. -
Pick6Watched some of the combine today. One or two analysts thought that Kanter looked the best there. Also probably already posted but the cavs are looked to shop Sessions, JJ, and Andy

I'd be ok with that. -

I meant Jan Vesely, he is by all accounts a freak of an athlete. -
BR1986FBOne of the Cavs sites I get posted on my Facebook page had an article about Sessions, JJ & Andy being available. About 95% of the women said "ohs noes, we CAN'T trade the Wild Thing." Dude is like 30 years old and coming off an injury. Get while you can.
I frankly won't be happy until EVERY one of Lebron's "butt buddies" (Hickson, Boobie, Varejao, etc) are purged of this roster. I do have a little respect for Gibson though in that he's spoke out about LBJ dissing his former supporting cast. -

I mean Varejao as it stands is probably our best player, but you're exactly right. If we can ship him for a high contract player and a 1st round draft pick, you do it. This team needs to get young NOW, and then in 3-4 years we will have team full of developed talent that can at least be competitive. -
jordo212000I love Varejao's attitude (dude always plays hard) but those guys are a dime a dozen.

sportswizuhrdRumor: Pau Gasol to the T-Wolves for Kevin Love and the 2nd pick. T-Wolves like Gasol because of his relationship with Rubio.

This would be a shocker, how pissed would Gasol be to get moved in that deal? And why would Minny want to trade Love plus the #2 overall for Pau Gasol? It's not like they are close to contending, although their GM is David Kahn
