Barkley was very athletic.
I compare him to Zach Randolph. Doesn't get off the ground buy has great footwork, good touch, great hands and uses his body. I still think Sully has plenty of room to mature physically so I could see him really getting stronger and becoming even more effective. -

Did anyone else watch the NBA Draft Combine yesterday on ESPNU or NBAtv?
- Enes Kanter was the only one of the top prospects that participated. I thought he looked more athletic than what I had seen when watching his highlights from the World Select tournament from last year when he dropped 34 and 14 against Team USA. In that game he didn't play above the rim at all, but during yesterday's telecast Chad Ford stated that he was having some back issues and almost didn't even suit up to play in that game. He looks pretty legit, and I would not be opposed if the Cavs take him at #4, if he would last that long.
- I was able to watch the groups w/ the Power Forwards and some of the Small Forwards. I missed the 1's and 2's. W/ the 4's I wasn't overly impressed with anyone from that group, at least not for the Cavs to take with 1 of their first 2 picks. Faried from Morehead St. looks like he will have a nice long career as a rebounder/energy guy. He appears to be a pretty safe pick as a role player. I thought watching Jon Leuer (PF) that I wouldn't be opposed to the Cavs taking him early in the 2nd round. He has great ball skills for a guy his size and can shoot it from anywhere. He has a chance to be a productive guy. Jeremy Tyler (C) was a little more skilled that I expected. If he didn't receive god awful advice and had played his senior season in the states and went to college instead of playing in Tokyo he potentially could be a 1st round draft pick.
- D. Williams was emphatic in interviews that he is a 3. I went back and watched more highlights of this guy, and he definitely has some wing skills. He can put the ball on the floor for a couple dribbles and get to the hoop. His first step looks lightning quick, but he is usually being defended by a college 4, or a college 3 that has no chance to body him up. His shooting statistics were insane and he has the range on his J to play a wing. The biggest ? is can he handle the ball as a wing and defend 3's? I am not sold that he can, but if he can he could be dominate. The video just isn't there to prove that he has those skills.
Did anyone see Marshon Brooks? I heard that he impressed, maybe even enough that there would be multiple teams trying to buy back in to the late 1st round to select him. -

No way in hell he can be a perimeter defender in the NBA. Not a very good one anyways. -

I'm real high on Enes Kanter...most people are weary becuase of his european background...but the dude was committed to UK and was considered the gem of that class. He has an American style game..and Turks usually do okay in the league (Okur, turkuglo, and that rookie for the Bulls Asir I think his name is..he's played pretty well in his rookie season). I really like this guy...but maybe I'm a bit biased since I have a little turk in me

I like him too because he's not the typical Euro. He's not a finesse type as much as other Euro's. He'll go down in the block and mix it up plus he has good range. -

I may be waiting awhile because he hasn't made any....he let one player dictate what he did as an owner which has fucked his franchise for the foreseeable future...

But if you want to get technical, we got the #1 and #4 picks this year by pulling off a great trade and we also have some good roster flexibility within the next 2 seasons.

He was willing to take on Davis and his awful contract in order to acquire another pick. There arent many owners in the NBA that would be willing to do that. In order for the Cavs to compete they are going to have to do it through the draft, I cant think of a better start than 2 picks in the top 5.
