The "cheap shots" that were brought up by others and I'm referring to are the borderline blocks/personal fouls. When somebody gets nailed on the side or when they just turn around.

Hines is just trying to help his team. It doesn't matter if one play is more physical than the other. The rules should be the rules.

The last one was Lowery but Cromartie had several throughout the game on Wallace that the replays showed.

I got to think Flozell Adams wants it more. The guy has 14 seasons in the league and has won nothing.

Don't forget Jason Taylor. Bart and Jason have a greater chance of impacting the outcome due to their positions.

    I was just correcting justin.

He thought we were talking about just one hold.

Agreed. But I'm not sure why you can be so against Revis and Cromartie holding and so for what Hines does. I mean I understand it because he plays for your team but if you let it slide for your guy you gotta let it slide for others. That's why I said I have nothing against the way Hines plays. I know that Revis and Cromartie are extremely physical and get away with a lot of shit.

Steelers have several players who haven't won but they also have a group of players trying to win their third Super Bowl in six years. There's that side of it, too.

Along with No. 7 all time for the franchise.

So on one hand you have the Jets trying to break a long drought but then the Steelers working on multiple Super Bowls.

Last week they called it pretty tight early on in the steelers game.

In the big games officials usually:
    1. Call it VERY tight, even some ticky tack stuff, closer than the regular season, to set the tone and standard for the game.
    2. Let stuff slide and let the players decide it without much official intervention.

Expect both defensive backfields to test the officials early on with what will and will not be considered 'holding' or 'illegal' contact.

That's basically what I said, though, in a different way.

I'm not against Revis and Cromartie holding as much if the Steelers get away with shit.

Just because I am a Jets fan doesn't mean there is free reign to troll the Steelers fans on here. This is a warning. Unless you are going to talk about the game at hand or bring something to the thread other than ripping on the Steelers fans please refrain from posting.

I'm hoping the go with #2. Let the players play the game.

yea, but i dont think players are deserving of cheap shots for committing a common penalty, should kill themselves, etc.

I agree. It's hard to get excited about a big play because you're waiting to see if a flag was thrown.

Who is the referee? Hochuli, right? He does like to get his tv time to show off his guns. Maybe since he'll be forced to wear long sleeves he won't be too worried about it? :)

The officiating crews change in the playoffs.

The refs work with different groups, I believe.

But in general, Jeff Triplette is a clumsy ref and there tends to be a lot of shaky calls both ways in his games. Last week kind of lived up to that.

Hochuli is usually thorough and if anything more on top of things than he needs to be. He likes to make sure you know he's the ref and he'll explain things in great detail.

..but on the same token I dont wanna see receivers getting mauled and not gettinig it called. I hope they call it straight up and not either of what I stated usually happens.

Seriously guy,Being you are a Bengals fan I can understand your hatred towards Pittsburgh. Like I said in an earlier post this is Wards 5th championship game and your team hasn't even won a playoff game in that same time period.
