Just read that the Jets have 24 free agents. Sounds like they went all in for this season.

    Awesome team.

AFC was deep and strong this year.

The Steelers managed to get through the first four games, they gradually improved, didn't peak too early, and then came up clutch when it mattered.

Indeed. Even though they wound up with home field advantage throughout the AFC, it should be noted they were 1-2 against Baltimore and the Jets in the regular season and 0-2 in home games against them. Beating both of them in back-to-back weeks was just awesome.

Kevin Colbert has missed on some draft picks but give him credit for some of the talented young players they've brought in the past couple years.

David Johnson was drafted in the seventh round a couple years ago and he's basically become the team's fullback. In both games against the Jets, I thought he did a great job picking up the extra man in the run game.

Ziggy Hood is now playing like a beast as a 3-4 defensive end. As a rookie he showed quickness and speed but now he's anchoring well against the run.

The three receivers they've drafted the past two years, Wallace, Sanders and Brown are big time players.

Pouncey obviously is going to be a perennial Pro Bowler.

Pittsburgh news showed Ryan Clark running off the field yelling '' cant wait!!! cant wait to get on that jet to Dallas''.

Ryan Clark is a pretty good guy. I follow him on Twitter and enjoy reading his updates.

Santonio Holmes was openly critical of the NYJ coaching staff after the game. Especially the OC. Holmes says the Jets abandoned their game plan on offense and was very upset about not getting enough looks. Id say his days in NY are probably finished. They wont resign both Edwards and Him.

    Not surprising.

    1. Huge market of New York.
    2. Steelers draw great ratings.
    3. Great game.

Was he brought in right after Donahue? Or was Modrak a GM for awhile for the steelers in between the two? I digress.......
Remember the rift between Cowher and donahue....one had to go..and the team chose Cowher...and The Chin won a Super Bowl and the trickle down effect has COlbert as the GM now. the success comes from teh top. The Rooney's do a great job of hiring good football people, who in turn run the team and do not seem to mettle in the day to day affairs of the franchise.

They hire a good GM...who in turns does scouts, HC and HC gets his assts. Each acts separately, yet together, to build a great franchise.

I thought a mistake by the Jets was during that first goal-line stand when they rushed the play on third down, I believe.

The clock was running down and they didn't want to use a timeout.

Well, they took a lot of time anyway in driving the ball in the fourth quarter so why be so rushed in that critical spot when they chewed up so much time to begin with.

I think there was like 7 minutes left and if they would've scored to make it 24-17 and only had two timeouts that still would've been a good situation

If Aaron Smith continues playing beyond this season, does Ziggy Hood return to being a backup?

I'm not so sure about that now.
