Pittsburgh Penguins 2010-2011 season thread

5-0 Islanders! Pens standing around doing nothing.

Just as I posted that last update.........yep you guessed it, 6-0 Islanders. NY gets some revenge on Johnson by putting six goals behind him and chasing him from the goal. Fleury is in.

Wow......all hell has broken loose, three fights going on at once, all started by the Islanders when they went after Talbot.
  • rock_knutne
Pens score to make it 6-1, they're on a 5 minute major penalty PP. In that crazy sequence, Paul Martin dropped his gloves while he was skating by Talbot and tried to sucker punch him which led to all the fights. Martin was ejected and the Pens get the major PP.

Now 5 on 3 PP for the Pens.
  • rock_knutne
6 players ejected after those fights.

Pens score again, it's 6-2. Staal gets the goal and the Pens still have 1:15 on the major penalty to work with.

Islanders score again, now up.......7-2. Just when you thought the Pens might mount something they go back to standing around in their own zone.

8-2 Islanders after two periods, and what a long period second period that was. Pittsburgh has been lazy from the start of this game and the Isles were fired up looking for some revenge. Get through this third period, regroup, get some rest and prepare for the Rangers on Sunday.

They just said there's 133 minutes worth of penalties in this game and they have to play another period.

Unreal, this game has turned in to an all out brawl. Tangradi took an intentional elbow and then all hell broke loose again. Johnson was in another fight as one of the Islanders came at him and dropped the gloves, then Godard comes off the bench and starts blasting the Islander player who was goin at it with Johnson. Total mayhem and I believe Godard will get an automatic 10 game suspension for coming off the bench to fight.

Yep....you're right. Got caught at the end of a long day.

Heard on the radio that the Pens were down to just 7 men at the end of this game??? Unreal.

The way this season is going I think the Pens will be fortunate to grab a 7 or 8 seed.

You heard right, only seven players were left after that circus. Wait until you see the highlights.........fights all over the place.

I hope Sid gets better soon....

346 total penalty minutes. Pens with 163, Isles with 183.

What Gillies did to Tangradi is one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen.

Godard will get an automatic 10 game suspension for leaving the bench. Because of that Bylsma will also be suspended pending a review by Bettman.

Talbot almost got Bertuzzied by Martin.

Bylsma did the right thing by sending Godard out there, the Islanders started everything.

What happened in the 3rd period was not hockey.

Any information why this went down? Previous hit or something?

B/c of Johnson KO'ing DiPietro. Since the Pens benched laughed at him being KO'd they decided they need retribution even though DiPietro was the one who started it.

Tangradi is on IR now due to a concussion.
