Well...those sour grapes are turning into whining. Never said the ovie hit on gonchar wasn't dirty, he's had his fair share. But the Cooke hit on Ovie and then a game later on Tyutin were both dirty. You're obviously just sore that there wasn't any front office action taken on the crosby hits. During the broadcast the announcers even said the hit from steckle was incidental (that's valid since you like to use announcers as a source).
Also, if Cooke is the guy that caused rule 48, all the more reason for him to get suspended for repeat offenses. Even if he wasn't a repeat offender, it was a blind side hit (cause he hit him in the back, last i checked our eyes are in the front) and he left his feet...both are illegal, both led to his suspension on top of him being a filthy player.
Also, you're the definition of fail garbage with what you bring to the table.
Hahahaha, same old bullshit from you and you want to lecture someone on name calling:rolleyes:........how do you say it, you were PWNED?
You guys can slice it up any way you want but Tyutin is a pussy, he CLEARLY saw Cooke coming and he CLEARLY turned his back. -
AutomatikAnd Cooke clearly left his feet and still hit him from behind. Its a penalty regardless of if he looked or not. Tyutin might have "baited" him into the hit, but the dumbfuck still did it.
I think 4 games is a bit harsh, but a repeat offender so I'm not surprised. -

HAHA You pwned me? with what? Saying Tyutin is a pussy? Sick burn bro'! I could give a rats as if you think he's a pussy or if savard is a fag. You're the douche that's whining because a dirty player got suspended and Steckle and Hedman are skating free.
Cooke CLEARLY hit him from behind and CLEARLY left the ice in the process. Sounds like we need to get you a shovel again... -

GoPens4 games a bit harsh but some sort of suspension was warrented...especially since he has a reputation for this.

thavoiceJust read on PPG that Malkin is out for the season and getting surgery.
That hurts...need him in the playoffs if they wanna hoist Lord Stanley's CUp -
GoPensThey held off as long as they could but it was pretty much a given that surgery was the only option regarding Malkin. So now the Pens are without forwards Crosby, Malkin, Letestu, Kunitz, Asham, Comrie (like he was ever around) all from injury and Cooke with his suspension. The boys from WBS are going to be getting a good look the next few weeks.

Yep, they just mentioned that on the radio, Ray Shero made it official. I'm not sure but putting Malkin on IR would release his salary money from the cap and they may be able to go out and get someone. Shero has worked magic in the past although the Ponikarovsky deal blew up on him last year, I still think he can get a deal done with someone productive.
Also, they were talking on the radio and which isn't a bad idea IMO, about the Pens calling up their best line from Wilkes Barre and playing them together until they get things sorted out with the injuries. -
End of LineIf they do that Bylsma will have that line playing 4th line minutes while Rupp and Godard are playing way too many.
Btw, Tangradi and Wallace have been sent down. -
rock_knutne^^^^I still don't get what you have against Rupp, he's playing great right now.

thavoiceI do not know the NHL cap as well as I do the NFL so I am am not sure about that with Malkin but you could be right. Was it last season, or two years ago, a couple of guys got called up from Wilkes and played pretty darned good...who were they? Not a bad idea bring up the whole line.....why not try it!

I just read that they can shed Malkin's salary for the remainder of the year which free's up some cap space, the exact amount wasn't said.thavoice;672760 wrote:I do not know the NHL cap as well as I do the NFL so I am am not sure about that with Malkin but you could be right. Bylsma and Shero are giving these Wilkes Barre palyers a go until they get things starightened out. I think Nick Johnson was one of the guys called up last year, he's the leading scorer for the Baby Pens. All those guys they called up have good numbers but obviously there's a big difference from the AHL to the NHL. -

so his cap hit is $8.7mil and that gets freed up with him on long term IR. -
rock_knutne
I'm not sure if they can free up the entire amount, it might be pro-rated. I believe they were saying over 5 million on the radio was free for spending.Raw Dawgin' it;672859 wrote:so his cap hit is $8.7mil and that gets freed up with him on long term IR. -

Ugh. For the amount of minutes he plays, nobody and I mean nobody takes as many PIM's than he does. -

I'm not sure there is a player like hossa out there this year. The bruins are in the same boat, they said they want a top D and F and they have draft picks and savards money to play with but i don't think there is that big name out there this year like when hossa was picked up by the pens. Brad Richards and Zach Parise's name have been tossed around but those are just rumors and I doubt they move. I know the bruins are trying to get Tomas Kaberle, but brian burke might not deal with the bruins again, we'll see though, the trade deadline is coming up soon. Also, Jerome Iginla's name has been tossed around, but with their recent success i doubt their interim GM will make any moves since they're on a playoff push. -

We can agree to disagree, rupp's had a pretty good year and has stepped his game up lately with all the injuries.The_Crosby_Show;673185 wrote:Ugh. For the amount of minutes he plays, nobody and I mean nobody takes as many PIM's than he does. -

Iginla has been the big name rumored here but the down fall with him is he has two years left on his contract. -

he's a vet i would pay for, man gets it done. If he were on a contender he could be scary come the post season -

So would I but I'm pretty sure he comes with two years on his contract, unless the Pens cut even more money loose (because they won't trade Malkin) they just don't have the cap space to keep him. Who knows, maybe Ray Shero can figure something out. -
Raw Dawgin' it
It's different with the pens, the bruins have the draft picks from toronto to throw around plus young players like blake wheeler. I'm not familiar enough with the young talent on the pens. So as far as i know they would only have money and young players to throw at calgary. When Malkin comes back that would most likely fuck up their cap space if they were to acquire inginla, so i doubt he'll end up on pitt.rock_knutne;673336 wrote:So would I but I'm pretty sure he comes with two years on his contract, unless the Pens cut even more money loose (because they won't trade Malkin) they just don't have the cap space to keep him. Compared to last year, he's been terrible. -

Flames are in thick of things out West, no way does Iggy get moved. -

If by thick of things you mean they're a streaky team fighting for an 8 seed then yeah. This run to make the playoffs is just hurting the team in the long run since they won't move vets like Iginla with big cap hits for draft picks and young players.
