yobro08horrible goal at the end

Yep...gotta agree with all of this.ptown_trojans_1;693931 wrote:Yeah that last goal was allll him. Way to give up the rebound to the side with the unblocked attacker coming on.
I appreciate his effort at the start of the season, but he has really been shaky lately.
So frustrating to see the Jackets with the man advantage less than 3 minutes to go, yet lose on a late goal.
They really let at least a 1point slip away there.
No comments on the Toronto screwing? I didn't see it live, but I saw the replays. How that's not called a goal is beyond me. And then Shea Bin Laden Weber throws a gloved punch at Tyutin at the end. Since Toronto will be involved, I look for no penalties levied. -
TedSheckler^^^This. CBJ got totally screwed out of a goal. Puckdaddy had a nice write up about it and the the first time ever, unless I missed one, 100% of the comments are in agreement.

I blame Toronto for lthis loss. -
bases_loadedIm sorry but...what?!?! How the fuck does that happen? NO GOAL?
-
ptown_trojans_1Yeah, the no goal was complete BS. I missed it in live action as I watching OSU, but from the replay, it looked like a goal, the goalie's glove was behind the post with the puck in hand. That is a goal.
Anyway, shoulda, coulda, woulda.
The Jackets had a shot earlier in the game for a wide open PP goal and the player just fanned on it.
They also had a PP with 3 minutes to go to win the game, and didn't finish the job.
Then, they let the guy in the box, skate free and Garon gives up the juicy rebound on that side, leading to the go-ahead goal. -
osudarby08Sadly, we have to move on from the no goal bullshit call....
The Jackets are going to make move(s) today, hopefully they will land D John-Michael Liles, a solid veteran defenseman who would be a significant upgrade on an offensive standpoint.
However, as usual with every Jackets trade deadline im expecting lame moves for role players so Im not getting my hopes up. -
gorocks99I get the feeling the Jackets aren't going to do a whole lot today in terms of the deadline. They're in a tricky spot in that, they are still on the outside looking in, and adding one or even two pieces probably isn't going to vault them into Cup contention, and if they have to mortgage future success to do it, it would be tough.
That said, it would be great from a fan perspective to see that the team cares about winning now and cares about making the playoffs this season by making a move for a bigger name guy. -
gerb131Still in disbelief guess it takes an extra goal in Nashville to win.
Oh well need to bounce back and see if we pick up anyone this afternoon.
Huselius has to be gone dont ya think? -
TedSheckler
Doubt it. He's hurt and has a contract not many people will want to take, without the CBJ taking a bad contract in return. I look for them to move some picks more than anything to not disrupt the chemistry that's working right now. That being said, it's been reported that Nash and Umberger are probably the only untouchables.gerb131;694551 wrote:Huselius has to be gone dont ya think? -
gorocks99Would you be surprised if Mason gets moved today?

If they trade Calvert then they all need frontal lobotomies. Unless, of course, they can get one of the Sedin's straight up for him. -
TedSheckler
Yes. The way he's been playing they'd have to keep him. Had an offer come in December or January, I'd say they'd move him easy. But not now.gorocks99;694572 wrote:Would you be surprised if Mason gets moved today? -

To get something, you have to give up something. I would guess Calvert is pretty safe. -
gorocks99Upshall and Lepisto are headed to the Jackets from Phoenix, and Klesla is going in return.
The Upshall file:
RW
2002 draft pick, 27 years old
Had 32 points in 49 games last year
27 points in 61 contests this year
Lepisto:
Defenseman
2004 pick, 26 years old
11 points in 51 games this year
Solid deal for the Jackets. -
TedShecklerGood trade for the CBJ. Upshall is UFA this summer, Lepsito RFA this summer. Gets rid of Klesla's bad contract also. Frees up a lot of money this off season.
The last of the original Blue Jackets is now gone. -

Maybe we should go out and find Geoff Sanderson, Lyle Odelin and Tyler Wright just for old times' sake -
gorocks99Howson says their dealing is likely done for the day. About what I expected, made an OK move but didn't get any of the big names.

gorocks99Minor league transaction: Tom Sestito to PHI for Greg Moore and Michael Chaput

Wasn't Greg Moore here once before?
Sestito needed a new home. I hope he makes it....seems like a good egg. -

Yep, he played four games for us last season. -
gorocks99Maybe the best news out of today for Columbus is that Nashville didn't make any moves. We can surpass them in the last quarter of the season.

Sure would have liked to have seen the Preds trade that goal-replay judge in Toronto, but what the hell...he's good for a bad call every time they play the CBJ, eh? -

Yea, because Philly doesn't have enough of those type of players. -
gorocks99Big game against the best of the West tonight. Jackets will greet Lepisto and Upshall, and probably Rivet, to the team tonight as they take on the Canucks. One consolation is that since February 9, the Canucks are just 4-5, a drop off from the first half of the year. We can get points tonight. Need to to keep pace.
1 Vancouver 63 87
2 Detroit 63 84
3 San Jose 63 78
4 Phoenix 64 76
5 Los Angeles 63 74
6 Chicago 63 74
7 Calgary 64 73
8 Dallas 62 72
--------------------------
9 Minnesota 63 72
10 Nashville 63 72
11 Anaheim 63 71
12 Columbus 61 68
Season-defining stretch:
vs Nashville W
vs Phoenix W
@ Nashville L
@ Vancouver
@ Edmonton
@ Calgary
@ St Louis
Four points in three games. Can the Jackets manage five points over the last four? I've been stating that 74 points/65 games played should be the goal, but 73 and 65 would be serviceable. That would put us right in line with what I expect Minnesota/Nashville/Calgary/Anaheim to have through 65 (the Wild and Preds will probably have 74, given that they play the Islanders and Oilers, respectively, in their next contests).
That said, they'll need to beat Edmonton and St Louis (games they should win) and steal at least one point against the 'nucks or Flames. Manage two tonight and things look a lot rosier. -
gorocks99Last night's results were probably as good as we could've hoped for. Detroit keeps LA at 74 points and Chicago keeps Minnesota at 72.
Tonight's wish list:
St Louis over Calgary
Phoenix over Dallas
Edmonton over Nashville
and (duh) Jackets over Vancouver
