Blue Jackets season thread

  • ohiotiger33
I figured we could put up a thread to discuss the Jackets this season.

They just beat Anaheim 3-1 to improve to 3-2-0 on the season. Nash had 2 goals and Mason stopped 31 of 32 shots. Glad to see the guys pick up their first home win. They are heading into a home stand right now, so it is important to pick up as many points as possible here early.

too bad the arena had less than 10k fans....We need a solid start and most definitely do NOT need to have a ridiculously awful November again this year to even have a chance.
  • ohiotiger33
Yes, those attendance numbers are frighteningly low.

Jackets win against the Oilers in the shootout to improve to 6-3-0 with a 3 game winning streak. They are one point out of first in the division AND first in the west. Keep it rolling.

    It's still early. ;)

Usually it is OVER early ;)

    ^^ This.

Good to see the team putting up wins early in the season, against decent competition (San Jose, Chicago, Philly). You can't win a playoff spot in October and November but you can lose one ...

These 2 points matter I just hope they can keep it going.
They have the Lanche and my most hated Adumb Foote this evening in Colorado.

Glad to see them off to a good start but they did this last year and didn't show up in November. Big game tonight in Colorado.

Beating a pretty good Canadiens team at Nationwide 3-0 currently in the 3rd.
3-0 final Garon with the shutout

The Jackets are so damn bipolar. Win 3-0 lose 5-1 win 2-0 lose 4-0. They are showing great potential though.
  • ohiotiger33
Agreed, they look like they could make some noise as long as they score 2+ per night. Garon looked great tonight.
  • TedSheckler
Garon needs to be the starter and Mason needs a cushion for his spot on the bench.

Good to see the CBJ get another win.

Nice win tonight. Gotta sustain some of the momentum, get another couple wins this week against Atlanta and Minnesota, and move to 9-4. Can't afford to fall behind in one of the toughest divisions in hockey.

Agreed. Nice win last night and this team is so hit and miss. The Central is brutal this year, damn.
  • gerb131
Central is arguably the toughest divison in hockey. If playoffs started now they all would be in.
GoRocks is right we need points the next two games but at least we are on the right track.

No Argument there. The Central and Atlantic are the two toughest.

It was nice to see the first line get a goal for a change. They have been sleep walking. Nash was at a -8 Plus/Minus through the first ten games of the season.
  • TedSheckler
Garon getting the start tomorrow. Good choice.
  • gerb131
Jackets up 1-0 heading into the 3rd in ATL. Goal by Brassard shutout so far by Garon.
  • ptown_trojans_1
2-0 Jackets, goal by Methot halfway through the 3rd. Game is nearly over.
  • gorocks99
3-0 victory! Back-to-back shutouts, and the team is 8-4 with Minnesota in Columbus on Saturday. Really really good start to the season! Keep it up boys!

    3-0 Netter by Umberger. Final
Jackets improve to 8-4, 16 points and move to the top of the division.
Way to go Jackets. It is great to see the team do well at the start of the year. Hopefully, this will lead to some more crowds at Nationwide.
