Week 5: Atlanta Falcons @ Cleveland Browns

  • BR1986FB
Might as well get this one started...

Browns coming off a home win versus the Bengals host the Dirty Birds who just took care of San Francisco.

    Thoughts? Predictions?

I say Atlanta by a touchdown. How about a poll?

I think the browns play them tough and I think its a close game, I havent made up my mind which way I am leaning on this one. Trying to take off my Brown colored glasses on this one. Once I hear some injuries and have an idea if Jake starts I'll have qa btter idea.

Falcons by 10. Roddy white is gonna have a very big day if Wright is guarding him all day

I agree with this. Hopefully the Browns will be smart enough to have Brown or even Haden primarily cover White. With that said the Browns have played tough so far this year at home and their run defense has been fairly stout. If they can shut down the run and force Ryan to make tough throws, they can definitely win the game. The falcons will have a tough time stopping Hillis IMO.

Yeah, Roddy White and Gonzalez scare me more than any RB for Atlanta. The Browns have done a decent job of stuffing the run. It's our pass D that has been horrid.

Roddy White is a match up nightmare, I hope Haden or Brown are on him. White has been nothing short but on the short list for the best WR this sesason.

BTW...people need to study the film on Eric Wright if you're throwing him under the bus for yesterday. Yes, he had a craptastic performance against Boldin but it was Sheldon Brown and Haden covering Terrell Owens yesterday, for the most part. Wright was assigned to Ocho. It was Brown that got torched by TO on that 78 yarder. People seem to think that Wright is still #24. Brown is #24, Wright is #21.

That being said, Wright has a tough time with big, physical receivers.

Against Boldin, rookie safety play also helped roast him. Ward was out of place on the second TD. That being said, Wright was still terrible.

Browns have been playing everyone tough, so I won't be surprised if this is a close game, however its hard to believe they will win 2 in a row.

I have a feeling this game will leave us frustrated, just as the first 3 games did.

No doubt but a lot of people are falsely accusing Wright of being the culprit for yesterday's "toasting" by Owens when it was actually Brown & Haden.

So being a pessimist, I think the Browns will lose this one, closely though. I just can't have any faith in pulling out the W when we are 1-3 after leading going into the 4th Quarter. That said, I think we have improved from last season. Hopefully we pull out a W and have 2 in a row going into Shitsburgh. BTW, I posted this in the other Browns thread but figured some wouldn't look in it anymore:

Typical Cleveland Brown cheapshot. Enjoy the victory Clown fans because the easy part of your schedule is over. Your next chance of winning is week 11 at Jacksonville. By then you'll be 1-8. hahahaaaaa

Dude you're a fan of the Steelers, who have quite possibly the biggest cheap shot artists in Hines Ward...no room to talk.

I am wanting to pick the browns, but the combo of turner/snelling and roddy white is going to be too much. I'm going with the Falcons 27-22
  • Hb31187
I didnt watch the game live so i have no idea what was going on in that play...Why was that hit a cheap shot?
