When people state this as an argument that he will stay in Cleveland, they lose all credibility. -

I don't worship Lebron by any means, but to think he is on the same level as everyone else is dumb. Go tell that to Nike then. -

Fab4RunnerI am not a LeBron worshiper by any means. I have stated numerous times that i am a Cavs fan. If he leaves I will not cheer for him. But I am also not an LBJ hater. Some people look for any reason to trash him, which is also hilarious. To me, he has been the furthest thing from a drama queen this entire FA process. It's the media that has been insane.

He's donating the money to charity..that's why he's having the show. Why is this so hard to understand? It's because you just can't stand Lebron and bash him every chance you get. He could cure cancer and you'd argue it was just so he would be in the spotlight. You're a fucking joke. He's using this process to donate to charity, and you're saying he's a POS who should just announce his decision and then donate his contract money to charity...listen to how retarded you sound. You are a disgrace. -

And to say you will hold a grudge because he didn't deliver on his promise to win a championship is childish. People are unfucking believable sometimes.
The second quote of mine that you posted was MY opinion. The FIRST comment of mine that you quoted was my PERCEPTION of what I thought Non was trying to say so try fucking reading, dumbass. I don't think Non was saying Lebron would be a "loser/SOB" in Non's eyes but in the overall perception of him. My second comment was confirming that what he said would be true...Lebron WOULD be considered an SOB for leaving with unfinished business.
You say it's "childish" if people hold it against him for not delivering on a promise? Problem solved! Dont' throw out GUARANTEES if you don't want the backlash when you QUIT on your city. -

He knew all along he'd be making more money in Cleveland. That's not going to be the tipping point.
As BR said, it will be the unfinished business that he can't ignore.
Miami is a better situation overall now. -

Without a doubt there are better situations out there. That can't be disputed but if he leaves he WILL look like a quitter and a weasel. -

I still maintain that only Clevelanders will see him this way if he wins title(s) elsewhere. Nationally, you'll have a few people who already hate him whose opinion will never change no matter what he does (if he stays and wins in Cleveland, there will be some other stupid excuse from those types - oh he couldn't win until he got so-and-so....the same way some retards spout that shit now about Kobe Bryant).
How often do you hear, "Oscar Robertson = 0 titles without Kareem" or "Oscar Robertson couldn't win in Cincinnati". Nobody cares about crap like that once a guy's career is over and the legacy is established. Plain and simple, if Lebron wins titles he's going to be talked about as one of the greatest, if not the greatest of all-time. If he doesn't win any titles, he'll always be seen as a slight notch below the top handful of guys. That'll be the case whether he wins them in Cleveland or anywhere else. -

Meltdown alert.
I don't hate Lebron at all. In fact I usually root for the Cavaliers to succeed. And... I don't bash him every chance I get. The people who have been discussing the free agent hype on here for the past month or two can attest to that.
I choose to be a realist. I'm not so biased that I can't see the big picture. The charity is great. I applaud him for that, but that's not what this hour long special is about. Lebron didn't say "hmm how can I suck some money from ESPN to give to a charity." This was about Lebron continuing to try and become a global icon and trying to grab all the attention he can. If this were about giving money to a charity, he'd just take out his checkbook and do it quietly at home tomorrow night -

With the 16th pick, the Hornets already had their eye on a guard – Santa Clara's Steve Nash, who had worked out with the team shortly before the draft. The Hornets had invited Bryant for a workout, but he cancelled the visit. The team had scouted Bryant twice but wanted a private workout to get a better feel for his potential.
"He wouldn't work out with us and that bothered us," Bass said. "We couldn't meet him. His agent was trying to aim him to the Lakers and they threatened us."
The Hornets got the message that if they drafted Bryant, he wouldn't play in Charlotte.
They weren't the only team to be warned off taking Bryant for their own.
The New Jersey Nets, coached by John Calipari, considered Bryant with the eighth pick but chose Villanova's Kerry Kittles after hearing a similar message.
[O]ne day later, with Divac still stalling the trade, Tellem was more direct when asked if Bryant might wind up playing for the Hornets.
"That is an impossibility. There are no ifs. It would not happen. He is going to be a Laker and that's the only team he's playing for," Tellem said.
There was talk that if the trade didn't go through, Bryant might play professionally in Italy for one season, then attempt to re-enter the draft.
It would take more than a week but Divac – after threatening to return to Yugoslavia – finally agreed to accept the trade to Charlotte, cementing Bryant's future in Los Angeles.

gibby08I honestly think he'll go to Miami or New York now

se-alumIMO, if LeBron wants to leave a Jordan like legacy in this league, it won't happen by joining Wade & Bosh. He needs to do it the way Jordan did it. One other star player, and a bunch of role guys that he makes better than they actually are. I'm not sure he wants to hear, "he needed Wade & Bosh, he couldn't do it by himself", the rest of his life. Just my opinion that LeBron stays in Cleveland to chase the legacy of being the greatest player ever, he can't do that in Miami.
-
IggyPride00I wonder if Bosh basically snubbing his nose at Lebron to goto Miami is making him have any second thoughts about staying in Cleveland.
Bosh may get the 6th year in Miami when all is said and done, but as of now he has essentially committed there regardless. He could have had it for sure in Cleveland, and Toronto was ready to trade him away supposedly based on what has been reported.
If you're Lebron, don't you have to seriously question how realistic it is that you can ever get another star player to Cleveland? Bosh supposedly did want to play with Lebron, just not in Cleveland.
That has got to hurt because having an owner willing to spend whatever doesn't mean a hill of beans if no one wants to play in Cleveland. It is now looking doubtful the roster will really be changed all that much with an impact guy, and I would think that has to at least put an inkling of doubt in his head at this point. I am sure when push came to shove he thought he could get Bosh to come and the fact he's not has to make him wonder if this is how it will always be just because it is Cleveland. -

I loved Prokhorov tweaking him in that leaked statement. Thought it was genius. Prokhorov said he thought Bosh and Wade were going to Miami, and that Lebron could go there and win a couple of titles...but that would tarnish the Lebron brand. The dude is going to be a great owner. Pro sports need more owners like this -
lhslep134Skyhook79;413913 wrote:Really? Is that why Lebrons people went to ESPN and not the other way??? Nice try.
Yes you fucking idiot. They went to ESPN because they knew ESPN would maximize the amount of money generated for Boys and Girls Club.
God are you seriously that stupid? -
gibby08ESPN's Chris Broussard, who broke the Chris Bosh - Dwyane Wade-to-Miami story, called the Miami Heat the 'clear frontrunner' to land LeBron James.
Broussard also said he might change his mind in an hour, and that he still didn't know if LeBron was going to Miami or not. Broussard has been as connected as anyone to what's going on in free agency, and while nothing is set in stone, this is just another piece of LeBron news that is going to make the city of Cleveland lose sleep on Wednesday night.

Kind of a cop-out statement by Broussard(who is one of the few "insiders" I actually pay attention to). Miami is a clear frontrunner, but he may change his mind? I don't think for one second Lebron didn't know what Bosh was going to do, so I don't think it's fair to say he snubbed Lebron. Lebron was full aware of Clevelands cap situation and knew that realistically Bosh would go elsewhere. Plus, from day one, it was pretty well known that Bosh and Wade are the tightest of the group.
There is no doubt Lebron has to factor that into his decision. If he stays in Cleveland, it's unlikely that he'll be joined by a player of the caliber of a Stoudemire or Bosh. The pipe dream is Chris Paul, but I think he really enjoys New Orleans and stays there. Lebron knows more than anyone is giving him credit for. I would love for him to do a Q&A tomorrow, but I know that's probably unlikely. -
