Also, as far as Chris Bosh, nobody knows honestly.. All these national media guys are speculating just like they have been since the get go... Look at the firestorm the rumored Amar'e trade caused last trade deadline for the Cavs.. Dan Gilbert/Chris Grant could be keeping this under wraps and feeding false reports. Nobody knows.
I don't think Bosh is coming here now, but he's pretty stupid to leave a 6th year and 30 million on the table, especially when this will be his last Max contract.
And if he goes to Miami, the "bigger city" argument was bullshit.
I agree with this. I dont know the guy personally but he doesnt seem like the type that would go on TV and do that to his home fans. -
HitsRusMy first thoughts is that this is a New York kind of media splash. It may well be about his friends Carter et al. Le Bron is going to get paid no matter where he goes. It may be about taking care of his friends...something that LBJ is known to do.

Not a fan of the whole chalk thing, one bit. If I were one of his teammates, I'd be thinking... "Get the f*ck on the court already!"
LeBron likes positive attention. Who doesn't. He hasn't changed since high school. How could he change, though? He was THROWN right into the guantlet when he was a Junior. More Than a Game stated how all of those players had big heads and the hype got to them. The hype has never left LeBron.
Hell, I'd be eating this up. People suck his dick verbally every day. -
SportsAndLadyjordo212000;413544 wrote:yeah... so what? Why doesn't he come to the decision privately and then just donate some of the money from his big new contract?
Because he can take advantage of how much attention this is getting and turn that into a donation to a charity.
What the fuck is so hard to comprehend about that?? -
ernest_t_bassBosh in Miami. LeBron is f*ucked.
I'm actually pulling for Chicago now.
Here is the way I see it. LeBron thinks it's some big announcement, and others are going to say... screw you. I'm getting on with my life. Then LeBron is left with jaw on floor, like... "what happened?"
We've all been there. Stalling out on some girl, telling yourself... "I'm going to wait it out. Play hard to get." Then she ends up with some other guy. I keep seeing this situation happening like that. -
NonI was thinking maybe Bosh was bluffing about not wanting to go to Cleveland.
He didn't want to tip his hand before LeBron made his announcement.
But now that he's going to Miami, not sure what to think. -
Emmett BrownI am not saying Lebron is leaving but there is no way in hell with the roster the cavs have he is getting out of the east. The knicks can still add up to two more people via a trade of Curry and the Bulls can still add a player.
-
ernest_t_bassI think it is Chicago. And I SERIOUSLY think LeBron shit his pants when Bosh signed with Miami.
Seriously, if I'm one of these other players, I'm saying... "f*ck you, Lebron!"
I'm a LeBron fan, but shit... best record two years in a row, and nothing. I don't care WHO you have on your team. They obviously were doing something right. Just not when it actually counted. LeBron hasn't done enough yet with his career to be pulling the shit he's pulling right now. -

I completely agree with this. I haven't read this whole thread, but really don't understand why anyone would have a problem with Lebron doing this on National TV. HS seniors do this to pick their college. We are talking about arguably the biggest sports star of today and he should absolutely take advantage of this situation and do it on TV. I just hope there is a Q&A.SportsAndLady;413756 wrote:Because he can take advantage of how much attention this is getting and turn that into a donation to a charity.

This is the thing that is very interesting. If he does return to Cleveland, I think it might be a mistake, because they are not going to win a championship over the next 3 years. The NBA just got even more top heavy and the Knicks will add some more pieces. Cleveland will have to pull something out of their ass to get them over the hump at this point. -
NonI would've thought playing alongside LeBron for a few years would override the bad feelings towards living in Cleveland.
Maybe this is a sign that LeBron isn't going to be there.
Just speculating, of course. -
se-alumI think LeBron will announce he is staying in Cleveland, and soon after, the Cavs announce that they have completed a trade for Chris Paul.
-
wildcats20Or maybe the situation in Miami is better.....
Miami has a PG, Cleveland does not. Miami has another big with potential, Cleveland really doesn't. Bosh will step right in at Miami and be the 5(most likely) and B Easy will be the 4. In Cleveland, Bosh would play the 4 and AV would be the 5. I'm thinking another offensive threat outweighs playing alongside AV....just my opinion though. -

lol its not like you broke this story. It was reported many times that Bosh said he didnt want to play in Cleveland. And where is the thread where EVERYONE called you stupid. People were just getting annoyed because every single Lebron/Bosh thread that came up youd say the exact same thing and it just got annoying.thedynasty1998;413789 wrote:I said all along that Bosh didn't want to play in Cleveland and everyone thought I was stupid for saying it. -

Besides this? Do you need anything else? He's nothing more than a "look at me I want attention" ass.Fab4Runner;413712 wrote:Beside this can you please fill us in on what he's done throughout this process that makes him a media whore? -
thedynasty1998I said that Bosh releases a list of 5 teams that he was willing to do a S&T with, and Cleveland wasn't one of them. I thought all along there was substance to it, yet everyone shot it down. And before someone gets on here and quotes what he said on Mike & Mike, he had to say he was open to anything at that time.
And let's not pretend that playing alongside Wade in Miami is that much different than playing with Lebron in Cleveland. Wade is one of the top 5 players in the NBA and the Heat still have the potential to make some more moves. Let's not pretend that Riley is done for one second. I still think there is a slim chance Lebron joins them. -
ernest_t_bassHeat win the 2011 Championship.

So going through the process like every other FA makes him a media whore? He's taken a week (Oh no! It should have been faster!) to make a huge decision. He hasn't done interviews, hasn't asked his fans to tweet where they think he should go. Because the media has turned into tabloid trash LeBron is the attention seeking ass? -
wildcats20ernest_t_bass;413808 wrote:Heat win the 2011 Championship.
They won't make the Finals. -
NonYou have to admit, though, staying in Cleveland looked like a much better scenario a few months ago than it does now.
When the season was going on the Cavs looked like a serious contender and a much better chance to win than some of these other teams in the East.
That has changed drastically not in the favor of Cleveland.
So if LeBron was truly going through this process to gather all of the facts, picking Cleveland now would, in a sense, just be him saying "eff it, I'm staying because this is where I'm from." -

I agree. -
BR1986FBI've heard mention of him making this announcement at SVSM on the first page of this thread. I haven't read the rest of it but I heard this morning that he'd be making the announcement in a "neutral city" that wasn't in the running. I don't think that bodes well for the Cavs. Until this Bosh thing went down I thought it was a 99% lock he stayed in Cleveland. Now with Bosh to Miami and possibly announcing it at a neutral site, I think it could be Chicago.
The thing about this that really pisses me off is that you always hear the comparisons of Lebron to Jordan. Jordan would have never pussied out and joined forces with the Pistons or Celtics. He would have considered it a challenge and would have taken them on himself. If Lebron is the GOAT, as many refer, he should consider Bosh snubbing him for Miami a slap in the face and motivation to take his ass down in the city that Bosh snubbed, CLEVELAND. -

Yes. His "people" called ESPN and wanted max attention, it wasn't ESPN calling Lebron begging him to show up. Attention seeking ass. Every other FA isn't calling ESPN for an hour or airtime. -
jordo212000hoops23;413678 wrote:Bosh said he wanted to play in a big market.
Miami is far from a big market, it's actually smaller than Cleveland...barely, but still...
I don't think it was about the big market at all haha. Who cares about that? Lebron has already proven you can make money in a small market. This was about Bosh wanting to go to a nice warm city, with lots of night life, no state income tax, and a team that is run by a guy with rings. It's nothing personal, but I'd say 95% of people would choose Miami over Cleveland. -
wildcats20Bron has commitments in Cleveland starting, I believe, Friday morning(if not Thursday, can't remember when his tourny starts). I highly doubt he will just fly out to some "neutral city" for a 1 hour show. My guess is he announces in the press room at the Q. Or somewhere in NE Ohio, aka SVSM or Akron U.

Gotta agree with you. I've never heard of a professional athlete going to these lengths. A high schooler maybe, but not a pro.
