If you construe that as anything other than an honorable act of charity, then you are a naive idiotic son of a bitch who has problems comprehending simple logic.
If Lebron had done anything in the past, like fab4runner said, to be a media whore, then I could see slight justification if chalking this announcement up to that. But since he hasn't, you're all fucking scumbags for criticizing Lebron for taking advantage of ESPN's love of him in order to donate money to charity.
WELL SAID! I just don't understand people sometimes. -

Official with team that made a formal presentation to LeBron James tells Y! Sports: "It's down to Cleveland or Miami for him.
I'm so confused! Chris Broussard just reported on ESPN a few minutes ago that Miami is Lebron's front runner, Chicago 2nd, and Cleveland 3rd. WHO IS TELLING THE TRUTH!?!?!?!? -
thedynasty1998Although Broussard has been ALL OVER the place, I think he has more insider information than anyone at this point. Not saying he knows anything, but I'll take his word over anyone else.
-
like_thatI would never believe Broussard. Yesterday he was pretty much talking about how Chicago is out of the discussion, and LeBron is warming up the Cavs. All of a sudden Chicago is 2nd on the list?

Why doesn't he just donate some of that money to the Boys and Girls Club himself and spare us. To me the charitable donation was an attempt to justify this attention grab. Now when people bust his balls people scream "It's for a good cause!!"
You are fucking retarded. -
like_thatAnd broussard yesterday tweeted that the knicks were gaining ground. All of a sudden they are not on his top 3 list. LMAO broussard.

Bosh isn't interested in playing the 5. Some believe that's why he wouldnt come to Cleveland. IMO, they told Bosh if you come here, we re-sign Haslem or J.O'Neal to play the 5 or go after Haywood(maybe sign and trade w/Dallas for Beasley if the Heat get LeBron).wildcats20;413793 wrote:Or maybe the situation in Miami is better.....
Miami has a PG, Cleveland does not. Miami has another big with potential, Cleveland really doesn't. Bosh will step right in at Miami and be the 5(most likely) and B Easy will be the 4. In Cleveland, Bosh would play the 4 and AV would be the 5. I'm thinking another offensive threat outweighs playing alongside AV....just my opinion though.

Besides, there's no guarantee Bosh would go for it. As Chris Mannix of SI.com points out in his Twitter feed, Bosh doesn't want to play center:
"CB4 not interested in being a 5. Cavs would have to guarantee a legit center will be in place before Bosh agrees to anything" -
Skyhook79thedynasty1998;413840 wrote:So how else should he announce? Twitter? Just release a statement? I really don't see any other way he can play this out and satisfy people. He has kept completely quiet about everything and him announcing on TV is honestly the best route. Let people be a part of it. Let people feel like they were there with him in the decision. It will only make him more liked, IMO.
As for who said he should do in the press room of the Q, obviously he only does that if he picks the Cavs. He would never make it out alive if he picked elsewhere.
He could have just signed an extension with the Cavs before this played out if he really "Loves" Cleveland as much as everyone says. But then again nobody would be talking about him all Summer if he did that. He cares more about being liked than winning a Championship so he will stay in Cleveland, why he made this a big drama tells you why he has never won at the highest level. -

Although I don't agree with LeBron doing this, you are being a hypocrite. Kobe did the same bullshit a few years ago when he bitched and whined and tried to get traded. It overshadowed the playoffs that summer. -

Really? Is that why Lebrons people went to ESPN and not the other way??? Nice try. -
sportswizuhrdAs Windhorst tweeted...
This sounds like it was ESPN's doing all along.ESPN was in talks with James a couple of months ago about filming his planned free agency "tour" but talks ended after Celtics loss.
People are jumping all over LeBron for having this special but fail to notice....
http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/07/dwyane-wade-chris-bosh-may-be-making-documentary-of-free-agency.php
Just what we all have hoped for -- the chance to relive this summer's free agency over and over and over...
Camera crews have been following Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh through the free agency process. Filming them going to meetings, flying around the country and having dinner with each other in Chicago. Of course, I'm sure there are plenty of artistically-framed shots of them deep in contemplation, wrestling with he decision of where to make $16 million a year for the next few years.
It's believed they are filming a documentary of the process. Although Henry Thomas (the agent of both Bosh and Wade) told CNBC's Darren Rovell nothing has been decided:
"We'll decide what we want to do with (the film)."
A documentary approved by the players and their agent? Like that's not going to be a puff piece. -
GoPensIf he wants to help the Boys and Girls Club, then write them a check and be done with it. I'm sure that will be brought up 10 times in the hour of The Lebron Show.
-
mallymal614According to my source, Lebron will be playing for the Sacramento King. My source is my ps3 where I randomly selected a team.

Not even close to the same thing. Kobe wasn't a FA and everyone knew he was just pushing the Lakers to improve the Roster which worked in case you haven't noticed.

How about demanding to be traded to one certain team instead of playing for the team that drafted you or else you go play in Europe?Skyhook79;413925 wrote:Not even close to the same thing. Of course he will be, cockbite. In the eyes of many Cavs fans and others who followed the Boston series. He said he'd BRING a championship to Cleveland, then he tanks game 5 in the Boston series and then he leaves? Of course he'll be considered a "quitter", "SOB", and what ever other descriptions you want to throw his way. He'll leave with unfinished business. You DON'T have to like it but it IS fact. -
GoPensFab4Runner;413835 wrote:I agree that an hour long special is over the top and unnecessary. But he is taking something that has been a huge story and turning it into a positive thing for the Boys and Girls Club. Everyone wants this story. Why not let it do some good in the process?
And if you will notice, my original question was BEFORE this...what has he done to be a media whore in regards to free agency? Nothing.
Well, I haven't seen other free agents on Larry King....
My original comment was regarding what he'll do to open the charade of a show to get the max attention. Who cares what he's done in regards to free agency. His whole life is one "lets worship me because I'm Lebron" quest. So he was quiet for a whole week of free agency. This whole Lebron Show thing is indeed over the top and not surprising for the "Drama King" That's nice that he wants to help the Boys and Girls Club. Write them a check and be done with it. I'm sure his charity will be mentioned 10 times during the hour long self-love fest. -

So you wouldn't have a meeting with potential employers before selecting a job? -
NonIf he was going through this trying to make the best choice for an employer I don't think Cleveland would be it.
It was a better situation about 3-4 months ago than it is now.
They're not any closer to being a championship contender and other teams are.
Even though I think Miami kind of sucks, for a big star it would most likely be a better city to live than Cleveland. And they have the other big stars now to play alongside LeBron.
Cleveland I believe would be about not giving up on the goal to win for Northeast Ohio. I know he'd be making more but I don't think that would be the reason he would stay in Cleveland, ultimately. It would be more about what I said before, the perception of him leaving and giving up on his home people and team would be too much. -

Which way is it? You can't have it both ways. And to think I used to actually respect your opinion...
And to say you will hold a grudge because he didn't deliver on his promise to win a championship is childish. People are unfucking believable sometimes.
