Stanley Cup Playoffs, Eastern Semi-Finals: Pittsburgh Penguins vs Montreal Canadiens

^^^^^I've been defending Fedotenko but I'm with you now, he has to be benched. I say bring Chris Connor back for game three, that kid had a couple of good games in the opening round and played with a lot of grit and determination.

FYI, game three will be carried by FSN Pittsburgh.

One thing the Pens have to do is get traffic in front of the net and disrupt Halak.

I thought they did that to a certain extent but just couldn't get any second chances. The Pens were always a deflection or a stick away from getting that all important second chance. They'll need to get to those loose pucks tomorrow night if they want to seize control of this series again.

Game day.......need a huge effort from the boys tonight. Go Pens!

The Bell Centre will be rocking. The Pens need to come out firing on all cilinders(SP) and take the energy out of that building.

    From the Pens site:
    11:36 AM:
Forward Bill Guerin was not at the Penguins Game 3 morning skate. With the adjustments, here were the team's line combinations:

    Ponikarovsky-Malkin-Talbot
    Cooke-Letestu-Kennedy
    Kunitz-Crosby-Dupuis
    Rupp-Adams-Fedotenko
Now all we need is Tangradi to come play in Feds spot.

Jordan Staal skated for five minutes durig the morning skate. Bylsma said he's tetsting the foot with a skate on. His surgical wound still needs to heal but he may be back for this series if it's a long one and should definitely be back for the conference finals if the Pens get there.

Personally, I'd like to see Malkin play with Cooke and Kennedy, get Geno some help and maybe get his game going.

^^^^Cooke has shown in the past when he played with Sid and Geno (When Therrien was still coach) that he can up his play.

I'm glad to see Letestu in the lineup, as he is probably the best faceoff man in the enitre orginization.

Guerin was having a decent playoffs. I don't think he was the right guy to get scratched.

    Should've been

    1. Feds
    2. Rupp

    and no other players considered

now they still have those two on the same line

0-0 after 1. The Canadiens were on the attack for the majority of the period. Very nice job by Fleury so far.

I decided not to go out anywhere and watch it. Just following online.

They are 2-0 in the playoffs in games I didn't watch.

    3-3 in all others

    0-0 after 2.
no penalty for sticking Crosby upside the head ?? Almost triggered a good brawl.

    Pens prevail 2-0

power play goal to start the 3rd, empty net @ 19:45

in 58 NHL playoff games this season, that was only the 2nd one to go into the 3rd at 0-0.

The Habs are showing it was not a fluke that they beat the Caps. I expect them to hang tough, but the Pens to still win in 5, 6 if Halak stays hot.

Non, Rupp needs to be in the line up.

Glad to see Fleury finally step up (just saw the score through my updates, as I had to work tonight).

figured Fleury was due for a big game

only 18 saves but this is probably how the series will be from here on out

    Pens need to win 2-1ish

I had the pleasure of watching last nights game at Cupka's II in the South Side, great time and atmosphere!

Pens started slowly but that as understandable as Montreal would come out strong in front of their home fans. Pens weathered the storm and took the game over in the second period.

Number one star was obviously Fleury, a couple of those save were vintage "Flower", side to side robbing the goal scorer.

IMO, Pens may have taken a decisive step in taking charge of this series. They showed the Habs that they can play it any way you want it and still win the game.

That was some cheap shit by Gionta at the end of the 2nd.

^^^^^PK Subban is a dirty player too. He likes to use his stick and skates for more than just playing the game. He cross checked Cooke in the mouth, cut him and nothing was called.
