Stanley Cup Playoffs, Eastern Semi-Finals: Pittsburgh Penguins vs Montreal Canadiens
-
rock_knutneTyler Kennedy on the second line with Malkin and Ponikarovsky. Talbot centering the third line with Cooke and Dupuis.
-
rock_knutneAlso, Jordan Leopold is back in the lineup replacing McKee.
-
rock_knutneGOAL.......Matt Cooke! 1-0 Pens.
-
rock_knutneMontreal goal, 1-1.
-
rock_knutne1-1 tie at the end of a period of play. Pittsburgh came out smoking and let up late in the period which gave Montreal a chance and they cashed in. Pens need to kick it in to another gear in the second period and take control again.
-
rock_knutnePP goal for Montreal and they lead 2-1. Garbage goal that was deflected out of mid air.
-
rock_knutneEnd of two periods and Montreal leads 2-1. The Penguins will start the third period with their first PP of the game.
-
Strapping Young LadI finally have to agree with you Rock. That was a garbage goal by Cammalleri. Fuck, I could've done that shit with one hand behind my back. No skill whatsoever, IMO.
-
AutomatikDamn Halak is stopping EVERYTHING!
-
rock_knutneMontreal scores and they lead 3-1 late in the game. Pens turned it over and the Habs made them pay.
-
AutomatikThis one is just about over. Also...that was a bush league play by Adams.
-
Laley23Crosby with a bad turnover in his own zone that MAF made a jab at and then made a neutral zone TO which led to the goal.
I turned the channel for a second, what was the 5 minute major for? -
AutomatikChecking from behind.
-
rock_knutneI'm dissapointed in the way the Pens have played this game. In the first ten minutes they nailed everything that moved, got the early lead and then let up. They have to play for 60 minutes and they haven't done that today. I will say this, they have put a ton of pressure on Halak and not just with the gross mismatch in shots, they've crashed the net and worked hard down low, some days you just can't get it done. Still, they have to pick up their physical play in game three.
-
ptown_trojans_1I figured the Habs would take 1 in Pitt. Not a surprise of a game, the Habs just played better.

Laley23
Thanks.Automatik wrote: Checking from behind. -
rock_knutneYeah, Adams deserved the boot for that hit.
Pens really missing Jordan Staal today, he could have made that one play to turn the tide. What ever, he's out and they have to find a way to get it done. -
rock_knutneHabs take game two 3-1. Series tied at 1-1.
-
End of LineOnly 3 guys showed up to play.............Cooke-Talbot-Dupuis.
If and when Staal comes back, put Feds in the box forvever, and putt Staal on the RW with Geno. -
Strapping Young LadCammellari is having a hell of a postseason. I don't know his numbers but I heard his name mentioned a seemingly endless number of times in round one and he continues to make plays and score goals in this round. Cammellari and Halak are the story of the playoffs thus far in the East, IMO, knocking off the presidents and now frustrating and stealing home ice from the champs......
(even though many of his goals are just garbage goals) -
NonPens really had a chance to seize control early but only managed the 1-0 lead.
Felt like they should've been up at least 2-0.
After Montreal got the lead they dropped so many players back it was tough to shoot through everybody.
I'm still pretty confident the Pens are the better team but this in some ways reminds me of the Islanders series in 1993 when the Pens got upset on an overtime goal in Game 7. -
rock_knutne^^^^Did you go to the game?
-
NonYeah. I didn't have a good feeling about this one, though.
Pens won rather easily to go up 1-0.
Montreal had to come back with a stronger game. -
NonNice view of the entire ice, watching how slow Rupp is.
-
End of LineYou sure it wasn't Feds? lol
