Cavs/Bulls 4: The Death of Noah
-
SQ_CraziesAnd any Cavs fan that is disappointed in Shaq's performance this season was a dumbass to start with.
-
devil1197Once again, I'll remember the 18 mpg and I'll make sure to bring it up just like..
18 ppg
8 rpg
49% FG
83% FT
Check whose numbers those are and match them up with your comments made at the trade deadline.
Shaq will prove you wrong once again against Orlando, book it.
I'll put posting rights during the NBA Finals on it, thats how good I feel that Shaq will play more than 15-18 mpg.
So if I win, you don't post at all during the NBA Finals if Cleveland makes it. If you win, I won't post at all on the Cleveland Cavs threads nor will I make another usernamer. -

LOL. Word for word from Danny Ferry and all the lemmings. Shaq has played poorly all year at both ends of the court. It's not his fault, he's just gone over the hill.RedBlackAttack wrote: Shaq was brought to Cleveland with Orlando in mind... Let's face it. Minimal production against the Bulls isn't much of a surprise, because they really don't have a real center for him to match up with. Shaq will be hugely important against the Magic, if that series comes off. His ability to go against Howard without forcing us to send an extra defender could be the difference in the series. He doesn't have to outplay Howard. All he has to do is make life a little more difficult for him and maybe force him into some early foul trouble.
Orlando's success against Cleveland last year was based around the fact that the Cavs had no one on the roster who could even come close to matching up with Howard. This meant that we had to have two and three defenders around the basket at all times to make up for the times when Z was driven past or Varejao was overpowered. Thus, they had shooters wide open on the perimeter.
When we didn't send those extra defenders and we stayed at home on their deadly shooters, Howard killed us. That will not happen this year. I'm not predicting an absolute victory over them if it is the ECF matchup, because Orlando is very good. But, they will not make it look as easy as they did last year. They will have to beat the Cavs by outplaying them, not by exploiting those huge matchup problems.
If Shaq can't guard the weaker centers, how in the hell will be guard the best center?
The Cavs can still win the title, but if and only if Brownie shitcans the Shaq on Howard nonsense. -
SQ_Crazies
Was a valid question until we saw him do a fine job this season.Footwedge wrote:

Just shut the fuck up about the Magic, thought you wanted to focus on the Bulls. What is the point anyways? You can't control any of it, devil was right--you're Skip Bayless. You pick something to take a stance on where YOU'RE in the minority and you try to make your argument sound good. If it doesn't go right you just move onto the next one. If you get one in 40 of your retarded claims correct your next retarded claim is to claim you're 100% on your predictions. Well...we gave you that chance in the past, and you failed miserably. -
devil1197Yeah, because Danny Ferry has made how many bad FA moves and trades?
I'll take him belief in Shaq stopping Howard over some guy on the internet that said Jamison shouldn't even play during the playoffs. -

So Lebron having the best +/- for the year is irrelevant? Look, I agree it's not the best indicator for any particular game, but when the discrepancy is consistant throughout the whole season, then one can draw conclusions.se-alum wrote:
This is all that needs to be said about the ridiculous +/- stat.SQ_Crazies wrote: How do you expect him to be in the +20's like the other guys when he plays 17 minutes.
Varejao didn't play well at all, was +14.
Like I've always tried to tell you, +/- is a pointless stat on a one game basis. Noah had 21 and 20 and was -23. What does that say about your little theory?
Secondly, Shaq's fg numbers, free throw numbers, turnover numbers are also very poor. Are they also irrelevant?
He's had his minutes slashed to the bone. Why is that?
Happy that Brownie's the coach instead of the chatter posters. -
SQ_CraziesLMAO, no shit...we actually support Brown. You're the one questioning what he's doing.
I refuse to continue arguing with someone who has mental handicaps. Makes me insane too. -

Just coming back from surgery and foul trouble? He's had his minutes slashed to the bone. Why is that?
Just a guess. -
SQ_CraziesAnd the funniest part is Brown is going to do the opposite of what you're hoping for.

You want to take a Ccavalier poll on whether Shaq is or isn't worth a fucK? You and your butt buddy are in the minority here. Deal with it.SQ_Crazies wrote:

Has nothing to do with it one bit. When LeBron comes out in a post game interview and says Shaq is stinkin up the joint...there's a little more too it than foul trouble.ytownfootball wrote:

Also...don't blame his thumb. The team has played with him on the court all year....including prior to him injuring his thumb. -

Isn't your prediction that the Thunder will win the series? We'll see how that turns out for you.Footwedge wrote:

This isn't little league ytown. You adapt. Since Shaq is over the hill, and is playing like shit, then you have to make adjustments to give you the best chance to win.
I'm sure Ferry has probably spoken to Brownie about Shaq. Ferry wants to win....not appease idiots that can't read the daily box scores. -
ytownfootball
So which is it? Did he play all year or are his minutes being reduced? He's only been back four games if you recall. Were his minutes declining before the injury? Not really.Footwedge wrote:

I said every box score idiot. The team won by 25. Shaq was pathetic today...just as he was in game 1, 2 and game 3.SQ_Crazies wrote:

SQ_CraziesWhat don't you understand about him coming in for his size to clog the middle against guys that we always have to double team because of their size? He's playing right now against the Bulls because Brown is trying to get him on some sort of a roll and it's the fucking Bulls. They aren't a terrible team by any means, but it shouldn't matter what we do--we win on talent alone in this series. Do we NEED him against Howard? Probably not, but he sure as hell helps the cause.

ytownfootballWe need bodies to throw at Howard to get him into foul trouble, Shaqfoo fits the bill.

Mr. 300I think it's official. Footwedge has replaced me as the most hated man on Cavs threads.

What an absurd point of view. Is Shaq the player that he was four years ago? No. Does he still matchup well with Howard? Yes.Footwedge wrote:

The Cavs can still win the title, but if and only if Brownie shitcans the Shaq on Howard nonsense.
In fact, he is probably the best in the league at limiting Howard around the basket. Just because he has regressed as a player and he isn't what he was even during the Heat's run doesn't mean that he adds nothing of value. He has trouble matching up against smaller, quicker centers or guys that have range and pull him out of the paint. Howard relies on his strength around the basket which is what Shaq is still good at limiting.
Do you really think that Z, Varejao, Ben Wallace, Joe Smith, or JJ Hickson would do a better job than Shaq against Howard? I need you to answer that question. -
Footwedge
His minutes have been reduced in the playoffs because the stakes are higher. The team wants to win a title. It's quite obvious to Brown, the team has struggleed with him on the court.ytownfootball wrote:

If you somehow think that Shaq has performed as advertised, then go see a Youngstown mafiosi don and get some laser eye surgery. -
