How ugly will the Celtics collapse be?

  • Footwedge
Celtics are who we think they are. A 500 team over the past 3 months. I think Miami will take them out in round one. As a Cav fan, I'll be rooting for Boston in that round.

Payback would be sweet in knocking out Boston.

He's always flapping off about Cleveland fans... Nobody gives a shit about the way you feel bro, so give it up. I guess it's fine when certain Lakers fans talk shit about the Cavs fans though, because they've won?

Makes sense, except if you talk shit to ANY fans teambase, expect some shit talked back.

I'm going to enjoy all these years with LeBron, because who knows when the Cavs will be relevant again. If you don't like it, DON'T read it!

I'm a cleveland fan and I think there is some truth to what jordo is saying. I'm sure people on this board who aren't cavs fans get sick of threads like this all the time...and yes lakers fans are certainly just as bad, although they have actually had success before, unfortunately we can't say the same. I'm biting my tongue until June because we saw what happened last year....you think other Cavs fans would do the same but whatever...
So the Cav fans should preface every post by saying...

"well, even though we haven't won anything, I think that......"

Our team is really fuggin good. And been really good for the last 2 years. Fans enjoy rooting for the best team in the league. That's what fans do.

Will Shaq be the one to take out Big Baby if the do meet, or do you think it will be an assigned duty to somebody else?? I agree with SQ, if it does happen, ambulances had better be on call. It'll get real ugly, real quick.

Yeah, until Mo "I've never done anything worth a shit in the postseason" Williams starts flapping his gums.

everyone does realize that fan is short for fanatic. we're allowed to be unreasonable...

This is just my opinion but I actually think some Cavs fans are nervous to play the Celtics. Of course they won't admit which explains their overconfidence. Mom always said be careful what you ask for.

    Who gives a fuck?

Honestly, were enjoying our team and watching some of the best years of basketball put up by an individual which happens to be a Cavalier.

Its not our job's to be modest, that is the Cleveland Cavaliers FO, players, and coaches job.

We are simply having fun, if you don't like it then don't read it. Boo fucking hoo, seriously thats all you have posted recently regarding the Cavs.
Why are most of you emotional little girls/cussing like sailors when Laker fans have their fun?

What? I'm not a Laker fan haha. I'd root for Cleveland long before I became a Laker fan.

It was in reference to Devil and his partners in crime....i.e. SQ, LTrain.

I'm not at all nervous for the Cavs to play the Celtics. In fact, I think it's a better matchup for us than most teams in the East. They have absolutely no answer for LeBron and Paul Pierce can't score with him anymore. Garnett is a shell of his former self. Andy gives them FITS. LeBron will only be going harder. They also have no answer for Shaq and even Z can be productive against Perkins. They're old, their bench isn't that great, they're inconsistent but they consistently blow leads late in games. We just proved we can dominate them when we turn the tempo up. They don't want any part of our 4th quarter defense. What was the line from the other night? They had like 5 points in the first 8 minutes of the 4th or something? That was no fluke, they suck late in games and the Cavs have the best 4th quarter defense in the league.

To be totally honest with you guys, call me a homer (remember I'm admittedly a fan of LeBron before I'm a fan of the Cavs and titles don't hold much water with me in the individual argument--though I'll never disagree that they aren't important or nice to have) but I honestly don't think that the Cavs are going to have that tough of a time with anyone. The only team that worries me more than just the natural worry of knowing that they play the games for a reason, is the Lakers. And that is ONLY if Bynum is healthy and they're spreading the ball around. If Kobe is shooting 25 shots a game, I'm not that worried. LeBron can match whatever he does and do it much more efficiently AND get his teammates involved. But they're very dangerous when they spread the ball around--and I totally expect them to make the Finals, their defense is their problem right now. I've been hard on them, but I just dish out what we receive when the Cavs lose and this site would be boring without us going back and forth, I love it personally. But I expect them to be able to "turn it on" for the playoffs because while the offense hasn't been GREAT, the problem is defense. And that's just about effort really. The Lakers will run through the West like most people thought they would before the AS break. They might have some 6 game series, but even a 6 game series can look like it's won fairly easily. I DO think that if anyone can knock them off, it's the Spurs. I don't believe in the Nuggets or the Jazz at all, they're toast. But the Spurs are a real contender, I thought that at the beginning of the season and because of injury they haven't accumulated the wins. But they're a really good team and a team that knows how to win in the playoffs.

But in all honesty, I won't be surprised if the Cavs dominate this years playoffs. I mean, we'll see what happens--I know anything can happen, and like I said before, they play the games for a reason. Bottom line is, I should be right on the ASSUMPTION that our team plays up to it's potential. And right now, I have no reason to think otherwise, they've done it all season and IMO, they've continued to get better down the stretch.

Why would Shaq or any of the other Cavs headhunt Big Baby? I didn't think it was a dirty play at all, just a freaky injury but not surprising when a guy that big leaves his feet and slaps down at the ball/hand area. Did I miss something? I admittedly don't watch many Cavs or Celtics games in the regular season so it is entirely in the realm of possibility.
  • SQ_Crazies
And I don't believe there will be any issue between Big Baby and Shaq about the thumb. It wasn't a dirty play, it was a hard foul. He hit Shaq's hand obviously, so he was clearly making a play for the ball and it was just a good hard foul. When you're Shaq, you get hit like that sometimes.

Now, there could be other drama that starts, but it won't be about that. Perkins can be kind of a hot head though, and Shaq is good at pressing people's buttons. So is Andy. I just think the Celtics could go down in flames and it could look bad for them. I don't think they'll take losing well at all and they will lose.

So if I'm a Sixers fan, can I come on here and talk shit because they won a NBA title 20 years ago??
  • SQ_Crazies
You're right, the Cavs haven't won anything.

Except more games than any team in the league this year.

WTF does the past have to do with anything? Did it matter when Jordan got Scotty? The past said that the Bulls wouldn't win didn't it?
  • SQ_Crazies
Oh and not to mention, it's now been 2 years in a row which is rare. So it ain't a fluke.

    Really?

Nice try, keep on it though you're getting somewhat better as a troll but nothing special.

It should be fun to meet up with the Celtics in the 2nd round, but hopefully they get there.

I'll admit it as a Cavs fan. I would rather play the Heat in round 2 than the Celtics.
  • wes_mantooth
I can definitely see a melt down by Garnett on the horizon...but I won't count them out yet. I think they can win a series, but have my doubts that they could take the Cavs farther than 5 games.

IF the Cavs are clicking on all cylinders, NO team should take them to 7 games in the playoffs.

    LAL could and should imo.

Nope, not if they are playing like they should. Not even saying the Cavs ARE going to make it to the championship (it IS Cleveland, as wes said), but if they do they will end it in less than 7. Just an opinion....
  • SQ_Crazies
Agreed but I wouldn't at all be shocked if it went 7.

Man, I'm itching. Can't wait to watch them make history.

The Heat have played a lot better than the Celtics have lately. Miami is pretty hot right now.

No matter who we play, it will involve a tough opponent whereby anything can happen.

I just think enacting some long awaited revenge on those clowns would add to the sweetness.

    Bring on da Celtics.

The C's lost to the fuckin' Knicks tonight. And EARL BARRON had 17 and 18. Are you kidding me? THEY'RE FIGHTING FOR A PLAYOFF SPOT. LOL, starting a thread about a collapse had NOTHING to do with the Cavs.

The most obvious thing isn't the arrogance of Cavs fans, it's the the incredible rush to knock Cavs fans down so quickly about anything.
You had other intentions it appears. But can you see how somebody would think it had something to do with the Cavs sincce you mentioned you can't wait to play them, or something along those lines? I took it as most Celtics related, but when you mentioned playing them, then yeah I took it that it had something to do with the Cavs.

Forgive me, but I don't see the incredible rush to knock Cavs fans down. I don't count the constant back and forth between Laker/Cav fans. You're both at each others throats daily and it is what it is. But for others that don't get involved in the daily stuff.. such as Jordo and I.. I don't see us rushing at an incredible pace to knock you guys.
