New guy with a few P90x questions
-
OneBuckeyeDid all of yoga x last night. The first 45 minutes were killer. Those kids in the video were freaks. Karen, could you send me the spreadsheet as well?
-
karen lotzPit and OneBuckeye you have mail.

SonofanumpJust got done getting silly and extreme with Tony, Daniel Haas, Drea and Joe Bovino.
As far as keeping track, I've got papers taped to my basement wall, if I improve or increase weight, I just go up the paper and cross it off and write the new weight. I guess if it was drywall and not pressboard panels, the wife would take exception. -
thePITmankaren, thanks for the email and the file. I just completed day 1 of P90X about a half hour ago, and it was great and very easy to use. It's much easier to hit a few keys on the keyboard instead of trying to pick up a pencil and write down the numbers without soaking the workout sheet with sweat. I really appreciate the document. That Ab Ripper X workout is for real, isn't it? I'm starting to refuel with a banana and approved protein foods. I've never been a fan of supplements, so I'm trying to do this as "all natural" as possible. Hungry. Must. Eat!
-
OneBuckeyeAb Ripper X is tough. It is definately frustrating not being able to keep up in Pull ups, push ups and ab ripper X. On my second week however I have had noticable gains in all levles.

SonofanumpPlyo my favorite workout done for the week. Dominic is a slacker there hiding in the back...

I did that last night as well. Great workout, but I can't keep up with frog man yet. My basement needs a higher ceiling. -

I've got a 8 foot basement with no ceiling so I can do my squat reach jumps between the floor joist. -
thePITmanI completed Day #11 tonight (Yoga X). This was the 2nd time I've done Yoga X, and it definitely makes a difference mentally knowing that the "hard stuff" only lasts the first 45 minutes or so. It's still all tough, but having those mini-milestones in my head helps. So far in week 2 I've done better in each workout, and I can definitely feel the improvement in form/reps in Ab Ripper X. I've been trying my best to follow the nutrition plan, and I'm doing well so far with a few days where I had free lunch at work or free pizza when my girlfriend and I watched 4 kids and got free pizza from the parents. Haha!

SonofanumpSuperman, Banana, Superman. Core Syn done for the day.

OneBuckeyeWeek 3 almost done. Total weight loss since I started P90x: 6 pounds. Since started diet last week of december: 16 pounds. Workouts are going well, I just wish I had a full set of dumb bells instead of just 25, I could move way up in weight on a lot of things and could use a 15 or 20 pound weights on others.

My set was put together entirely of used ones from Play it Again Sports. -
BR1986FBBeen awhile....I'm in week 5 of my 6th round (P90X/Insanity hybrid) although I've cut the workouts to two P90X weight workouts, two Insanity cardio workouts, one Crossfit total body wokout and one "fun" cardio Crossfit type workout which includes long interval walks in a 60 lb weighted vest and wheelbarrow pushes for speed with 200-300 lbs of free weights in the wheelbarrow.
Have also started eating strictly paleo (under 50-60g's of carbs per day) and the weight & fat has dropped off in bunches. Big proponent of these guys' eating styles...

Which two? I'd alternating between adding chest to "back & legs" then doing "shoulders & arms". I'd then add bis to "chest shoulder tris" and then do "legs & back". On rest weeks I'll just do core syn. -

I still follow the 13 week program and do chest & back along with shoulder, bi, tri the first three weeks, then switch to chest, shoulder, tri and back & biceps the second three weeks. That hasn't changed. I just added in stuff like kettlebell work, cleans, deadlifts, squats along with Crossfit WOD's.
At this point, it's maintenence work for me. I may eventually switch over to more of a Crossfit type routine. Getting older, "less" means "more" and this eating program, along with working out LESS will probably actually get my body where it wants to be. I've done a lot of recent study on cortisol and sleep (lack of) that I think will benefit me significantly. -

I have been using your P90x/Insanity hybrid schedule. I enjoy it. I am into the max portion of insanity, and its a bitch. I like it better though. I thought the first set of insanity workouts were a little too short for the type of workout/amount of burned calories i was trying to get to. -

You should try Insanity Fast & Furious. It's a 40 minute Insanity workout packed into 20 minutes. It's so intense that at one point, Shaun T and the other two students are doing "power jumps"...they all stop because they are so blown up and Shaun T pleads "will somebody GO?" It's rough but once you're done you're asking "that's all?" because the workout goes by so fast. -

Until I see a pic, I will believe you are a fictional character. 6 rounds of P90X and don't want to show it? Something doesn't add up. -

Is it just an additional CD to the regular Insanity set? -

Additional dvd. Think you can get it from the Beachbody site.
BTW...that "I wanna see pics, I wanna see pics" crap gives me a serious "creeper complex." There was a guy over on MyFitnessPal who did that crap to me and I verbally emasculated him so much so to the point that he hasn't posted since. If/when I want to show pics they'll likely be sent via pm to those I want to show them to. -

I just have to give you crap, since it goes back to the JJ Huddle days. -

As do I. Thanks I owe you one! I am going to prewatch them tongiht to get a feel and might even start the Fit Test tomorrow. -
KR1245Looking for some suggestions:
I purchased P90x last winter and I have made it through the program twice. Since then I've moved into a condo, we have plenty of room but the door frames in this place dont really allow me to use a pull-up bar. I joined Urban Active in Sept and I've been doing most of my P90x workouts there. Basically, I'm just doing the workouts on mon, weds and fri and running on tues, thurs and saturday. I like the P90x workouts and want to continue them but I also want to run and I kinda want to try Insanity now. I was thinking about keeping up my normal workout routine at the gym (lifting and running) and then doing Insanity on top of it. I guess what I'm wondering is if Insanity is basically just a cardio workout? Or would I be "doubling up" and doing chest/back/ arms etc... twice a day if I did this?
I want to supplement my workout with some more cardio and I want to try something new, besides plyo and kempo. That Fast an Furious DVD sounds perfect but I wasnt able to find it on Beachbody.
Edit: I found the Fast and Furious DVD. Its 20 bucks on Beachbody. This could be perfect for what I'm looking for although I kinda want to try out Insanity -

Are they all working? I tried them all on my PS3 before I mailed them and they all seemed good to go.
