Will do, I think I post that after the season is over, looks crazy busy over there. Which forum worked best for you?

Yappi worked for me. Their wrestling forum gets a good amount of activity. Ohiochatter might work too. It seemed dead in the off season though, so if you are going to wait until the end of the year, I suggest posting soon after the state tournament, or at least before the NCAA tourney.

Try craigslist as well. A quick search in Cincinnati returned this one:

I might have a hookup on the wrestling mat. Posted that I was looking for one on my Facebook wall hoping that some of my HS buddies who were wrestlers might be able to help out. My niece, of all people, says that her daughters school has a bunch lying around that they don't use. She's going to see if they will give me one or sell it dirt cheap.

What is everyone using as a recovery drink? I used Gatorade's recovery drink for a little bit because it was only $1 per bottle at wal mart. Beachbodys has more protien and also has creatine and amino acids etc it is also $2 a serving. I was thinking of going to about 6-8 oz of blueberries and strawberries with water and a protien powder smoothie style as my new recovery drink. This would blow my low under 50 carb day out of the water, but I think it will be better than gatorade and beachbody's. What say you.

If you get two, let me know! I'll drive over to your side of the state to PU and buy you lunch.

I use 100% fruit juice smoothies, dilute them with water.

    Anyone using Shakology?

I am also looking at new shoes. I was thinking about theses http://www.vibramfivefingers.com/index.htm or some Nike 3.0s as my next purchase. Anyone here have experience with either?

Chocolate milk is still proven to be the best recovery drink out there. I am not a protein recovery drink type of guy, so I just drink water and use a packet of emergen-c after my work outs.

How has it been proven, have you seen results of experiements, reports etc? Can you google it for me ?

OneBuckeye...GET the Vibram FF's. They are one of the next items on my health & fitness "wishlist." I know a few people who own them and rave about them. I'm waiting until they come out with the new design that lace up like tennis shoes. Make sure you use their sizing chart though. If the fit isn't perfect it defeats the purpose of the shoe.

As far as recovery drinks, I use Accelerade Hydro. I was using regular Accelerade but it had too many carbs. Hydro only has 10g's of carbs and has the 4:1 ratio you're looking for. I love the taste of the P90X Results & RecoveryFormula but there's just too many carbs for my liking. My understanding is that Beachbody had the original formula on clearance recently and are releasing a new recovery drink. Here's the link for Accelerade...

No need for lunch, I'll just tackle a cow. ;) I'll let you know. If she says they are free I'll see if they want to part with two.

http://www.askmen.com/top_10/fitness/34c_fitness_list.html This is just one article you could find of many.

When I interned with gatorade 2 summers ago, we were doing extensive research on recovery drinks to prepare for gatorade's new performance drink (before, during, after series). We all came to the conclusion that chocolate milk is the best recovery drink, however it just isn't marketed the best obviously. We had access to a large database of research for the matter. Unfortunately since I am not there anymore, I do not have access to that library of resources.

Those look...interesting. I've got a running store that sells them just down the street from my house. I might have to go try a pair on.

The guy who developed the Vibrams is a barefoot running enthusiast. They are supposedly the closest thing to being barefoot.

My friend belongs to a cross fit gym says many people there wear these things and they all love them. I will be trying some on this week. I am intrigued at least.

I really think the individual toes is going to kill these for me. Probably something you get used to but if I hate the feel of it when I try them on I'll have a hard time justifying the purchase.

I'll bring over some of local farm raised beef for ya. Are you doing the Matt Emery thing?

Pretty much. The guys blogs/sites that I follow are Robb Wolf & Mark Sisson. I'm supposed to get 1/4 a cow (grassfed) from a guy I went to HS with in the spring. Should have 1/2 a pig next week. I'm definitely shedding weight & losing BF with minimal effort.

Primal Blueprint. The thing about grassfed cows is when you cook them you notice lack of fat on the beef, I'd guess it's like 95%-97% ratio unlike the typical 80%-85% ratio you get at the store.

Exactly! I own the Primal Blueprint and the Primal Cookbook. Sisson's new cookbook comes out on 3/25. Grassfed meat is so much more tender and it's loaded with Omega 3's. The commercially grown cows are loaded with Omega 6's & lower Omega 3's. This is a big reason why red meat gets a bad rap.

Nitrate free, farm raised bacon is SO much better too. I started cooking the Omega 3 rich, free range brown chicken eggs in coconut oil. Taste is out of this world. The eggs are as smooth as silk.

My grandma raises grassfed beef so I've got a great (and free) supply. :)

^^^can't beat that. Shit is expensive when you have to buy it. When I went to Whole Foods last Saturday they wanted $30 for ONE steak.
