The 2nd, 4th & 6th day of the week (minus recovery week) are the Insanity workouts.

I have not done any of the "max" (second 30 day Insanity workouts that are roughly an hour) yet but the Insanity workouts that I have been doing (roughly 40 minutes) have burned no less than 600 calories and I've been as high as (close to) 900 (again, in 40 minutes).

The Insanity workouts make Plyo X (notice that is now one of my "recovery" exercises) look like you're taking a nap. THAT is how tough Insanity is. There are moves (power jumps) in Insanity that make "jump, knee, tuck" look simple.

I've gotten the first 30 days dvd's down but I'm kind of afraid of those second 30 days. I've had my heart rate up to 180+ a couple of times and that shit's kinda scary. I imagine I'll be burning 1000-1200 calories per workout in that last phase.

    Yikes!!!
  • BR1986FB
Yeah, "yikes" is right. It's pretty intense.

I was dragging on the drive home last night and was trying to find any way possible to talk myself out of working out tonight. I sucked it up and completed shoulders, arms & Abs/Core+. Glad I did as I finished up alternating dumbbell curls with 80's for 7 reps and 225lbs on dips between benches for 12 reps. Haven't used that much weight in a long time.

Nope. Just acting like an asshole per usual. He only gets on this thread to start shit. He wouldn't know what a weight looked like if it hit him in the face.

Start week 5 of the hybrid tomorrow. Things are moving along very smoothly, so far...
  • Sonofanump
Just finished abbreviated yoga, stretch and kenpo. Steering wheel does not move unless your in a clown car.
  • BR1986FB
Shaun T just came out with an abbreviated version of Insanity called "Insanity Fast & Furious." It's a 45 minute Insanity workout condensed into 20 ridiculously intense minutes. Insanity is nuts to begin with but upping the pace even more is, in the words of Mike Tyson, "ludicrous." I can't even imagine doing that workout.
  • BR1986FB
Just finished week 6 of this hybrid. Not losing a lot of weight but man am I dropping bodyfat, seeing significant cuts, dropping pant sizes and my cardio stamina is through the roof.

I'll be on the football field for 5 times over the next 4 days, so I'll get one lifting workout in on Sunday night and I think I'll be ok for my cardio.
I will be just trying to maintain until January when football ends, Sunday January 2nd starting strict again.
    Drink your water people.

After doing plyo yesterday, which I now only do during my "recovery" weeks (because it's an 'easier' workout), I still can't get over how much better shape I am in cardiovascularly with Insanity than I was with P90X. Doing the "jump knee tuck" and "Rockstar hops" at full speed to keep up with Dom used to be impossible. Now it's easy.

Just finished day 30. I can see some results, nothing crazy yet, but there is definetely a difference. I have been substituting plyo for kenpo, because i think kenpo sucks ass. I didn't like yoga at first, because it takes too long, but its growing on me.

Kenpo does suck ass. You outgrow it quickly. I bought the P90X+ dvd's and the Kenpo/Cardio X+ is much better but even that I've kinda outgrown since starting the Insanity dvd's.

Tonight is my last night of week 8. The "fun" begins on Sunday when I start doing the Insanity "Max" workouts along with the week 9 P90X weight workouts. That should be interesting and probably not in a good way.

What days of the week do you take the 'roids?

I quit after the first 10 mins of Kenpo. It wasn't intense enough for me. I immediately placed the plyo disc in there. I haven't gotten to the cardio x CD, but after reading this thread, it looks like I will be replacing that CD with plyo as well.

Who has time to take roids when you're always following me around telling me you want to "fuck me in the ass", ehh Rainbow Parade Boy? Gotta keep movin' so you don't catch me.

It isn't intense at all. If you're really out of shape and just starting the program I can see it being a bit challenging but you outgrow it VERY quickly.

    You and your fantasies.

One can only assume since you follow me around on this thread, have nothing to do with P90X and have never worked out a day in your life.

Then I won't even take cardio x out of its plastic covering.

Cardio X isn't very intense either.

I did my first Insanity Max workout yesterday with Max Interval Plyo. That shit is nuts...55 minutes of pure sweat inducing Hell.

I've got to shut it down for awhile. I think I've sprained/strained/slightly torn my bicep. No bulge nor black or blue. Doc put me on anti-inflams to see if that will help prior to ordering a MRI or CAT. Not being able to lift exceeds the pain. Anyone else done this and how long will I be unable to lift for? I guess I'll be stuck with swimming and yoga to keep upper body strength.
