Belly35The CDC is in population panic control. Obama press conference at 3 will be a political my administration is doing everything to protect the citizen but more will be needed. Because of this more regulation will be required (no fuck clue what to do)
two or three case and the panic begins ... -

Yup. Those Hazmat suits are just a way for them to scare us. I mean a hazmat suit is the protocol for bodily transmitted fluids. They wear hazmat suits for AIDS, right?queencitybuckeye;1663853 wrote:And so far, they're correct, aren't they? -

They don't, as the method of transmission of the HIV virus is completely different that of Ebola.TedSheckler;1663859 wrote:Yup. Those Hazmat suits are just a way for them to scare us. I mean a hazmat suit is the protocol for bodily transmitted fluids. They wear hazmat suits for AIDS, right?

Well, good thing you are the expert here. I won't have to refer to the CDC for any further information.queencitybuckeye;1663864 wrote:They don't, as the method of transmission of the HIV virus is completely different that of Ebola.

AIDS transmission is through blood. Ebola can be transmitted through more than that.TedSheckler;1663859 wrote:Yup. Those Hazmat suits are just a way for them to scare us. I mean a hazmat suit is the protocol for bodily transmitted fluids. They wear hazmat suits for AIDS, right?
But the fact that we have teams with hazmat suits dealing with this is part of the reason we don't need to be as worried. We're not as ill-equipped to deal with it. The lack of a need to worry isn't because ebola isn't dangerous (it is). It's because we're equipped to deal with it, presuming people do what they're supposed to (ie, not wait two weeks before treating someone for it, not neglecting to wear such gear, and perhaps not traveling less than three weeks after treating someone with it).
The biggest worry, honestly, isn't the disease itself, but the way it has (or hasn't) been handled. It appears that the pendulum is swinging the other way and those coming into contact with it are using more appropriate precautions now. So the idea that it's going to continue spreading is, conceptually, more and more of a long shot as more and more people dealing with it are taking it seriously. -

You don't have to refer to anyone, as you clearly prefer paranoia and ignorance to fact.TedSheckler;1663870 wrote:Well, good thing you are the expert here. I won't have to refer to the CDC for any further information. -

Not to mention every scientist and medical professional in the private sector that deals with this virus. No reason to believe thousands of such people.TedSheckler;1663882 wrote:Not sure who's posts you're reading. I'm not paranoid at all. Government says not to worry, I don't worry.
