A Cruel Prank

rmolin73Great post Belly. It's weird that no one has been turned in.

Gardens35The first paragraph of the linked article seems to indicate that the identities are known......"a group of Bay Village students are in trouble...".
What's all this chatter about a corned beef sandwich? -
rmolin73Then why the need for all the rewards.
-
TiernanSo in other words this little hamlet of rich white superiority has circled the wagons to protect their community property values rather than give up the shitsticks that did this. This would be typical of the whole fkg NEO region which is "we know we're nothing but a bag of shit but we're not going to let anybody else know it."

Who exactly do they expect to pay it to? ...The Bay Village police department???GoChiefs;1651896 wrote:Jenny McCarthy is matching Drew Carey's $10k.
My understanding is they know who the kids are and are determining the appropriate action. The police have no need to have a press release announcing the names of juvenile delinquents. They just need to do their jobs.
It's as if people aren't looking for justice as much as they want revenge on these goof balls. -

I believe Drew Carey said his could go to Autism Speaks.Con_Alma;1652153 wrote:Who exactly do they expect to pay it to? ...The Bay Village police department??? -

Maybe they think they deserve to have their reputations [rightfully] tarnished in addition to whatever penalties the juvenile system comes up with?Con_Alma;1652153 wrote:Who exactly do they expect to pay it to? ...The Bay Village police department???

That's perfect. Hope he chooses to just donate the money. Perfect reason to do so in light of the idiotic act. -
TiernanBay Village = Steubenville

Well, that's one possible guess. I highly doubt a police department would go out of their way to oblige a celebrity hoping add on to the punishment imposed.HelloAgain;1652155 wrote:Maybe they think they deserve to have their reputations [rightfully] tarnished in addition to whatever penalties the juvenile system comes up with? -

Con_AlmaThe reward/donation is for apprehension and conviction. How might a classmate or witness accomplish that when the police apparently know who the kids are?

They can't accomplish conviction, but they can help publicize the names.Con_Alma;1652195 wrote:The reward/donation is for apprehension and conviction. How might a classmate or witness accomplish that when the police apparently know who the kids are?
Also, the Bay Village Police say they are still interviewing people to identify all the culprits. Doesn't sound like they're certain they have everyone involved. -

According to Fox8 Cleveland the police have identified the individuals. They know who they are and are being very careful in putting all the information together before giving it to the Cuyahoga County prosecutor. They specifically menioned the celebrities offering money and stated "it's not necessary". I like the idea of donating it because it's not going to do anything as a reward. It doesn't sound as if any school punishment will be handed down. They read the school policy and can't link the incident to any school activity.HelloAgain;1652197 wrote:They can't accomplish conviction, but they can help publicize the names.

TiernanI hope to God it's some city council, prominent family, wealthy local businessman's etc etc kid and mommy & daddy's life just went in the crapper. Does Haslam live in Bay Village? I can dream can't I?

Is it justice we seek, revenge wanted, rightful punishment?
Would the punishment really make a differences with some kids like this, can justice really be served totally within a community like Bay Village, who want revenge more those involved or those not involved personally.
The money dominate should go to the family to help off set a life time of additional expenses to the parents of this autism student. The community of Bay Village should raise money for all the family in Bay Village with autism children in support of their children. The kids that pulled this prank should be to once to give every family with Bay Village with kids with autism a check. Sometime seeing what you did and who you did it to, can change the way you think … more than punishment or revenge and justice -
TiernanOh you can bet these turds will do some kind of public apology event where they will be crying and their damn patents will tell us what "good kids" they are that made a terrible mistake. Fuck that. Make an example of these psychopaths and send a message...this shit will not be tolerated. Some kind of public humiliation would be a start.

That's probably not a far out prediction. Maybe mommy and daddy might actually bring a wrath on them but it would still be too little too late unfortunately.Tiernan;1652210 wrote:I hope to God it's some city council, prominent family, wealthy local businessman's etc etc kid and mommy & daddy's life just went in the crapper.... -
Con_AlmaIt sounds like misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct is all the police have.
-
HitsRus^^^^and what else should/could they have. You can't make up new laws to satisfy vigilante justice. As cruel and despicable as this act was, no one was seriously hurt, no property damaged etc. The kids responsible should be charged to the limits of the lawand in accordance with the law, and that is all that should be done by the police. If the child that was the victim of this prank and his parents desire that can take it to civil court and sue for damages.

They should have everything the law permits to be enforced and nothing more. I haven't implied the police should do anything more than that. -
TiernanJust publically revealing the perps names will take care of this situation I suspect..,
