Am I the only person who thinks it'll be completely hypocritical of Magic to buy the team?

That won't be exploited to shit or anything Im sure

In case people still want to doubt it was him.
I don't think anyone ever doubted it was him. He was baited and blackmailed by a crazy girlfriend. His response tells me he's going to fight any ruling given to him and because he's a billionaire this could get interesting.

I guess what I fail to understand is how the comments he recently made were anywhere near as racist as what has been attributed to Sterling in the past.

Adam Silver is standing up there acting like he never knew Sterling was racist. That's laughable.

I was 99% sure it was him from the start, but I did hold out a little doubt for the reasons I already stated, but when he didnt come out immediately and say it wasnt him then yeah, that pushed it to 100%.

As to why the players still played? Well, it is their contract to play, and it is the playoffs. You gotta go out and play, try to the whole fucking thing and present a big F-U to the outed owner.

If all this body of racism is out there how did the NAACP somehow miss it?

    Not really.
He wants to be the knight in shining armor to save the franchise from the big, bad white racist.

Also, not familiar with NBA bylaws and contracts, but if Sterling is banned for life, why not just avoid paying the fine?

Considering the Clippers statement never denied it, there was no way it wasn't him.

All they offered was that they weren't sure if it had been doctored.

Exactly. The clueless bitches on CNN and other channels that don't know shit about sports or the difference between Donald Sterling and Donald Duck on TV the past several nights campaigning for a player strike are humorous as fuck. Clueless assholes. Those guys are making MILLIONS a year from this organization and are in the middle of the most successful season in franchise history, chasing an NBA title, the pinnacle of their sport.

    The media need to STFU.

You really don't understand sarcasm and how things that are said in jest don't mean they are truly believed, do you? Much like go fuck yourself and have a nice day.

Judging by Dan Gilbert's tweets and the fact that it was announced today and not Sunday or Monday....they have those votes secured.

Yeah. He's for sure going to get the votes.

Cuban had some interesting stuff to say earlier, but it seems as if he has even changed his tune.

and it all comes down to one simple thing. Players play. Simple as that. Between those lines on a playing field is your sanctuary, the place where you do your thing. Those idiots in the media dont understand. They think if their producer was like tha on their show they could just boycott and not do the news. Easy as that, an dsomeone else can come i and read the news just as good. Sports are a different animal. You. PLay. To. Win. The. Game.

No point for Cuban to stand out in defense of a man who has already been banned for life. What is Cuban going to gain from that, other than criticism.

He pretty much has to. You know the shitstorm that is going to follow those owners who DONT vote him out?

The comments I saw weren't in defense of Sterling as much as a "slippery slope" argument, which is almost always a non-starter.

    Wow, I didn't expect this.

Silver brought down the fucking hammer.

I would imagine the vote would be private. I don't think 100% of the owners are going to agree on voting him out.
