  Doesnt matter if its believed to be a prank or not, it still has to be taken seriously. I know bomb threats are taken seriously and they occur every day.

  Body armor doesn't stop someone from feeling any pain or going into shock from the impact, it just stops a bullet from penetrating. A few rounds into someone's chest could create enough time to disarm them.

  The problem with arming and training admins is that it's not remotely part of their job description...and, quite honestly, they have more important things to do then preparing for a 1 in 1 million crazy gunman.
  
  I guess I can go along with an armed security guard by the door would have seen this guy coming, and at least slowed him down. And that might have been enough time to get everyone into safer/more secure locations.
  
  I'll buy that. Pretty strong argument. Literally no warning when he was easy to see coming. Some lazy admin just buzzed him in without any sort of check.

  I already said, multiple times, your first and most effective defense is to keep the guy from gaining access in the first place. Really the only option. Relying on some admin to stop the guy in a shootout is borderline retarded. Making a 1 in 100,000 event part of the job description is even dumber.
