Sure, but you disagree there's a difference between legit and some incredibly stupid prank?wildcats20;1344523 wrote:Supposedly they got a call that said "I'm coming to kill"
Whether or not it was real doesn't matter. They HAVE to treat it as real. -

Not what I'm saying. -

Doesnt matter if its believed to be a prank or not, it still has to be taken seriously. I know bomb threats are taken seriously and they occur every day.gut;1344527 wrote:Sure, but you disagree there's a difference between legit and some incredibly stupid prank? -

Ignorant statement.James Gatz;1344486 wrote:True, the silver lining is that at least she's dead.
And you and I have absolutely no clue whether she "gave" her son "easy access" to guns or not. For all we know, he watched her hide the key to a gun safe after she came home from the shooting range one night and then went and got it after he murdered her on Friday morning.
Point being, you know nothing. -

Yeah, NO SHIT people. Everyone knows it has to be taken seriously, always and not just recently.Pick6;1344532 wrote:Doesnt matter if its believed to be a prank or not, it still has to be taken seriously. I know bomb threats are taken seriously and they occur every day.
But the question still has not been answered - was this a REAL incident or a prank? -

So you know cops that aren't competent, but you think all admins are. Think about what you just typed.ccrunner609;1344566 wrote:Find where I said "teachers". I said an administrator. Devils AdvocateGive it up CC.
I do not care if you had Chuck Norris there with a CC permit.
You are not going to do shit to a guy with an assault rifle and body armor. -

Body armor doesn't stop someone from feeling any pain or going into shock from the impact, it just stops a bullet from penetrating. A few rounds into someone's chest could create enough time to disarm them.Devils Advocate;1344612 wrote:Give it up CC.

I'd like my chances against someone with body armor and a consumer AR15 vs someone with no body armor spraying 00 Buckshot -

If she has a child that's displaying psychopathic tendencies(which she herself apparently acknowledged) maybe "hiding" the key to highly dangerous weapons inside their own home wasn't QUITE a drastic enough step :rolleyes:reclegend22;1344543 wrote:For all we know, he watched her hide the key to a gun safe after she came home from the shooting range one night and then went and got it after he murdered her on Friday morning. -
gutThe problem with arming and training admins is that it's not remotely part of their job description...and, quite honestly, they have more important things to do then preparing for a 1 in 1 million crazy gunman.
I guess I can go along with an armed security guard by the door would have seen this guy coming, and at least slowed him down. And that might have been enough time to get everyone into safer/more secure locations.
I'll buy that. Pretty strong argument. Literally no warning when he was easy to see coming. Some lazy admin just buzzed him in without any sort of check. -

So now a requirement to be a school admin is to be big, athletic and able carry and proficiently use a gun? LOLOLccrunner609;1344586 wrote:Hiring practices......people bitch about incompetant admins. Make it a law that admins have to have all this schooling and a CCW. Not hard. Hire people that you need, I think you and others have a hard time grasping this idea cause you are thinking about some 50 year old women with grey hair as your principal. Mine is 6'9" former athlete, hunter with a CCW. Not hard for him to be the first line of defense.
The problem is that there is no line of defense but play hide and seek. That doesnt work today when you have crazy people that are gonna do this anyway they can. YOU NEED A LINE OF DEFENSE. Give me another option -

Holy stupid..ccrunner609;1344682 wrote:Why cant it be? I would say right now that the number one job of that administrator in that building on friday was to protect that school.
The problem with all of you grasping my ideas is that I am outside the box right now. I am offering real solutions, do real things and quit talking about it. You guys talking about it with no real solutions is like our president, empty suit with no good ideas to fix anything. -

That's just dumb.ccrunner609;1344683 wrote:No that was an example of what it could be. I bet there are 20 families in CT that would take my principal over theirs today.
That big ass dude would just be a big ass target. Stupid, stupid post. -
Trueblue23@CC I am baffled at your stupidity on this topic. So size and strength stops bullets?
Steve McNair was shot and killed by a 110lb woman. -

Did you not say you would carry if you could? Are you not a teacher? Sounds like you would like teachers to carry.ccrunner609;1344566 wrote:Find where I said "teachers". I said an administrator. Now you say administrators should be required to take gun courses? Stop now before you possibly look any stupider. -

No it isn't. Dude could HAVE got in through any door or window he wanted.
How is an armed person who is on the complete opposite side of the school going to attempt to stop someone breaking in across the building? -
GoPensA group of teenagers overpowers your man with the gun in a surprise attack. They now have a gun that has already been brought into the school. Stupid.

You're definitely out there.ccrunner609;1344682 wrote: The problem with all of you grasping my ideas is that I am outside the box right now.
I already said, multiple times, your first and most effective defense is to keep the guy from gaining access in the first place. Really the only option. Relying on some admin to stop the guy in a shootout is borderline retarded. Making a 1 in 100,000 event part of the job description is even dumber. -

So you're saying that the teachers or administrators with guns should have the same level of training as a police officer to keep that from happening?ccrunner609;1344769 wrote:HAHAHAHHAHHALOLOLLOOLOOL......They do that to police all the time dont they.
That makes perfect sense...
