Yeah because shooting out a window or glass door is completely not an option for a psychopath. -

Exactly. If a mental patient dressed as a G.I. Joe and brandishing a Winchester Liberator shows up at an elementary school, it's lights out. As soon as he shoots out a window to gain access, piles of people are dying. -
bases_loadedBut if he knows there is an armed person working there, hes not going in. We never hear about anyone walking into a police station and shooting it up. Its all about body count for these lunatics. Eliminate the easy target.

You might (doubtful, but not impossible) be able to eliminate these things from schools, but not eliminate them entirely. Even if schools were completely locked down it would just change the venue for a determined party. Any mall, movie theater, park, rec center, soccer field, etc. You can't lock down everywhere at all times.bases_loaded;1344144 wrote:How much would an armed police officer cost each school a year? Depends on what the access point is. either way it reduces casualties as he has to go around, and then thruwildcats20;1344163 wrote:Yeah because shooting out a window or glass door is completely not an option for a psychopath. -

If the psychopath who is hell bent on shooting up a school is donning a bulletproof vest and wielding an assault rifle, he's going to walk into the school and blow that officer and his pistol out of the water.bases_loaded;1344179 wrote:But if he knows there is an armed person working there, hes not going in. stlouiedipalmaAlthough I was always shocked and concerned by the previous mass shootings in our country, I cannot recall being so emotionally distressed as I am with this one. I'm sure it's because of the children being murdered, but I'm finding that I cannot watch coverage of this without tears.

SonofanumpAn easy conclusion to make is that this is the weakest human being ever, targeting women and 6 year olds. Condoning murder is not my idea of </SPAN>Machiavellian</SPAN></SPAN> retribution, but he is correct in this circumstance, hope a hell exist for him. </SPAN>

This is the kind of ridiculousness that all these anti-gun nuts believe. This person was ready to die, he wanted to kill people inside the school. You can't really believe that one armed person inside this school would've stopped this rampage?!?bases_loaded;1344179 wrote:But if he knows there is an armed person working there, hes not going in. I agree. My first thoughts after I learned about the shooting were my nieces and nephew that are in that same age group. All I could think of was, "what if it was them not coming home tonight". I can't possibly fathom, knowing how hurt I was by this, how the people of Newtown were/are able to cope with this. Earlier one of the parents of a slain child had a press conference, and I had to turn off the TV, just couldn't take anymore of it.stlouiedipalma;1344211 wrote:Although I was always shocked and concerned by the previous mass shootings in our country, I cannot recall being so emotionally distressed as I am with this one. It would be pretty damn tough to shoot out a window, and then crawl thru it, and then lay down firewildcats20;1344163 wrote:Yeah because shooting out a window or glass door is completely not an option for a psychopath. -
WebFireYep, and if there was CHL holder in the Colorado theater they would have got him, gosh darn it.
Look, I am a believer of concealed carry. I have a license myself. But people severely overestimate what they might do in these types of situations. I don't think teachers or admins packing heat is the way to go. -
dlazzThe dude wanted to go out and he wanted to bring attention on himself.
Take away his guns and he'd just find something else to use.
It blows my mind how ignorant people are -

He would still of found a way to get the guns he used. It's not like every gun will just magically disappear. There was absolutely no stopping this. -

A CHL holder drew down on the Clackmas mall shooter, when the shooter saw the CHL holder, he shot himself. The CHL holder didn't shoot because there were too many people behind the shooter to risk it.WebFire;1344261 wrote:Yep, and if there was CHL holder in the Colorado theater they would have got him, gosh darn it.

AR15's are illegal in CT. It's felony possession to have one.Crimson streak;1344292 wrote:He would still of found a way to get the guns he used. It's not like every gun will just magically disappear. There was absolutely no stopping this. -

friendfromlowrySomeone explain this to me, and I'm not asking rhetorically, because I really don't know the reasoning behind it. Some redneck on my newsfeed liked some other redneck's status (it actually had like 68K likes so perhaps someone else has seen it) which basically said that by establishing stricter gun laws, we would be making it actually easier to get them. He went on to cite drugs as an example. Since I'm not a retard, I didn't engage in a Facebook argument. But I can't remember a recent time where it was legal to buy heroin, cocaine, etc. so I'm not sure how legally vs illegally buying drugs makes sense in this case.
