Are you fucking serious? Really? You can't be this fucking stupid

CC, you're right, kids probably would not overtake an admin to take his gun (concealed). But the other reasons for not doing it are plenty.

I can't believe you guys are still arguing this.

This. Lock the schools down(as much as possible) during the day, and monitor who comes and goes at the front door. Putting armed guards or turning the place into a prison compound aren't the answers. These things are going to happen, you just have to do your best to prevent it, and hope your school is never in the situation.

Oh I think we have a very good idea what kind...a shitty delusional paranoid one.

I said back on page 1 this would turn out to be a loner weirdo that his family more or less "tolerates" and now we know dear old mom is a gun nut, Dad said "I've got enough money to get outta here and start another family of probably more weirdos" and older bro takes off to NYC to never see his little crazy sib again...while dressing up in his ironic hipster gear and being a complete ass hole. These people need to be made pariahs and forced to leave the US, we dont need their kind around here anymore. Its time to start calling "bullshit!" America when weirdos and idiots live in our neighborhoods.

    Sam Shamansky and his partners?

Ha ha - I actually know Sam and unfortunately I can't afford him.

Unreal...60 Minutes already has a story on it this week.
  • reclegend22
Why wouldn't 60 Minutes have a story on it this week? It was the biggest story in the world and it happened at the start of this weekend.

They are presently telling the courageous story of a school administrator who hid in a closet in her office for four hours as 4 through 7-year-olds were slaughtered in adjoining rooms.

Also, I love how all of these former classmates of Adam Lanza are coming out of the woodwork to get their "15 minutes" on 60 Minutes. Lol.

That all is kind of what I was getting at. It happened 2 days ago and so they threw together a crappy story to capitalize on the drama and human interest. Really a low point for 60 Minutes.

Agreed. Unbelievable. You could sense she felt like a coward, too. She looked very sheepish.

what's she going to do? If only she had a pistol she could have gone all Butch and Sundance on the dude...

"I could see him from his knees down underneath my desk". She could have shot him and saved many lives. (Even though I honestly wouldnt have confidence in an old lady getting the job done).

I have no problem with them reporting on the event, that's what they do, but I do agree with you that it was poorly put together. It was almost like a highlight video, just recapping everything we already know. The interview with the high school classmate of Lanza was just stupid. All she said is that he carried a briefcase to school, and therefore she knew that he was weird and capable of shooting up a school one day. Just dumb.

She will second guess her actions the rest of her life. Cut her some slack.

The real cowards are the Lanza family and anyone who knew them well enough to know Adam was a ticking time bomb and always tip - toed around his so called "disabilities". Anti-social behavior needs to be dealt with forcibly instead of codling these nut jobs.

That's not fair, either. For every mentally ill person that snaps, there are thousands who don't. How can anyone be expected to spot the 1 in 1000+?

Every mention of body armor leads me to this thought.

I don't think any of us really know what we would do if we are face to face with death. Call her a coward, whatever, but you might do the same if in the same scenario. I'd like to think that I wouldn't just sit there and hide while a bunch of kids are getting killed either.

Many mentally challenged persons are not "anti-social" in fact many are very caring and loving. But this cretin obviously has demonstrated behavior that he didn't want to be part of society since he was in grade school. His parents knew it, his brother knew it and I'm betting mom's friends knew it but nobody had the balls to step up.

You think about your own kids and aren't going kamikaze on a dude with a machine gun.

Anyone here who says they would have been a hero is just as dead as the other 27 people.

There was a story that came out of this tragedy of a young kindergarten teacher who jumped in front of her students to save them from the shooter's gunfire, so it is certainly not a stretch of logic to assume that this lady should have at least tried to do more. Of course, after the shooter was done killing that kindergarten teacher, he then continued with the killing of all of her students. It's the thought that counts.

I know of the story, and like you said, what did it accomplish? Nothing. Just added another to the body count.
