Wow, what a scene! I didnt think Rick would have left Shane! To obvious!

What was the deal with Rick staring at the 2 dead guards! They didnt have bite marks, was there more to that?

I'm thinking it reminded him of when he and Shane were partners (because the two dead guys were in uniform) and that ultimately made him decide to go back.

    This.

Also, I thought this was the episode at the beginning where Shane was left behind. Remember at the beginning of this part of the season? The opening scene was him running from a hoard of walkers with a shotgun in hand. I don't think tonight was the same scene, but it was pretty damn close.

I will say that it seemed odd that they were baffled by the fact that they were scratched. I figured they knew that you can get bitten or scratched and become a walker. Their initial reaction was odd.

You are correct, it was not the same scene. In this episode Shane had dropped his weapon and was running with no shotgun. I also found it odd that they were surprised that the two walkers didn't have bite marks on them.

Also, does everyone remember that the scientist at the CDC told Rick something at the end of season 1? I want to know what the hell he told them. And what about the black guy and his son? These are 2 questions I want revealed.

Solid solid episode tonight. Shane and Rick's fight was bad ass.

Can't wait for next week now.

The last two episodes have really made-up for the weak 1st half of Season 2. It's almost feeling more like Season 1....which made me fall in love with this show. Hoping they finish Season 2 as strong as they've been going these last 2 weeks.

I wonder those same 2 questions every week as well as Daryl's brother and the gang that too Glenn in the first season

Season 3 is going to be amazing, especially if the rumors of "The Governor" storyline are true.

Loved hearing Wye Oak at the end of the episode. (Their song "Civilian" was the one they played). That album is really good.

At this point, I think it's obvious he told him his wife was pregnant. Anything else of importance or value (like someone carrying an immunity) probably wouldn't lead Rick to wanting to hole-up on a farm for the rest of eternity.

I don't think that's what it is. Rick was surprised/excited when Lorie finally told him about her pregnancy this season.

I had to laugh when on Talking Dead the host said he asked a writer if this stuff is hard to write. "...and he said 'nah, we just write a bunch of soap opera crap and throw some zombies in'"

Rick and Shane being baffled by the two cops is what raised my suspicions of them revealing what the CDC doc told Rick. Good episode, loved the through the zombie head kill shot by Rick!

I don't think that was it either; it's too obvious/easy. We all know that this show doesn't do things in a direct/easy manor. I mean, how many of you saw the dramatic Sophia scene coming?

I don't think this had anything to do with what the scientist said either. I thought (someone correct me if I'm wrong) that everyone knew about the scratch marks being a possibility before in either the first part of this season or season 1. Maybe I'm just thinking of common sense zombie rules from other movies. This show is good about keeping things lingering, because there are so many loose ends from the 1st season that might never be answered.

Them being confused by the two guards turning without being bitten tells me that they didnt know about being scratched as a definite way of turning. I know they leave things unaswered, kind of like that makes you think. I just felt like that scene and the end scene involving the two dead cops has more meaning than what it let onto.

I think they've changed (mid-show) how you can "contract" the disease. Two reasons why I think this:

    1. When Rick first got out of the hospital, the black guy that found him (with his son) asked him if he'd been "bitten or scratched."

    2. Remember when they were stuck in Atlanta in the clothing store building? They talked about not getting any of the blood/guts on them when they were covering themselves so Rick and Glenn could get to the vehicle. They made it a very clear point and all wore gloves/suits when they were chopping up the zombie and spreading the blood/guts on those two. Now they get zombie blood all over them when they're killing them...they don't seem to care.

^^^^ I remember that now! lol Then why were they confused about it then? It just seemed like an important part of the episode to me. Shane and Rick cut themselves and rubbed it all over the place! Heck, Rick had an open cut on his hand and was rolling around with 3 dead walkers on him!

I think part 2 of snot's post can be answered with the fact that they're "done" with being that careful. I think they know realize that careful=slow=bad.

I mean remember when they were on the highway back in October? They were pulling dead bodies on themselves to hide their smell, and Rick did the same thing last night.

I was thinking the outsider kid was going to turn because they left him the knife that they used to kill a walker, and he was going to get cut by using it to free himself.. The dried blood would have entered his system and walkered him.

The "live bait" thing was interesting because like you both said, they wouldn't have done it in the past. Now, they're tired of being careful and doing whatever they need to do to stay alive, even cutting their own hands and jeopardizing themselves to getting infected.

I think when Shane/Rick look at the 2 cops, it's more significant than when Rick does. When Rick looks himself, it's more being partners/brothers for life, so he needs to go back and get Shane.

Also, lets not forget that these are all different writers from S1. Not saying they didnt watch season 1 or ever read the scripts etc. But unless you were part of the writing process, its impossible to remember 100%. They may have just forgotten or not known what was written in season 1 to make it 100% fluid with season 2. But thats just my take.

That's a pretty important detail to not remember and continue to build off of...."how you get the virus."

These writers also sucked the life out of the show for an entire half season. Dont put it past them lol.

But, there are ALWAYS huge continuity errors between episodes of shows and seasons. LOST was amazing, and had a ton of them. Its simply impossible to remember everything. I wouldnt read anything into it.
