the beginning and the end of the episode were intense... I think from here on out it will be good. Tonight was better than last season...

I liked this episode a lot. And was glad they didn't turn the dudes at the end into a bigger/longer story line. Wrapped it up nice and neat and Rick took the initiative for once.

I wonder if his wife is going to lose her baby now.

Yes. You knew they had to deal with it somehow... they weren't gonna have a newborn drag down the show.

Same here, I was getting worried that those guys were going to be around for awhile.

So is Herschels step daughter infected?

Yep, 58 more minutes of the same "human condition in a zombie world" crap they force-fed us last year. Then they throw a sort of surprise/shocker in at the end.

This show kinda sorta sucks. Only reason I watch is because there are few alternatives that set the bar any higher.

Hahaha.....I had a totally different perspective. I was excited for, oh, about 90 seconds when I thought maybe they were bringing on some new, edgier characters.

I was worried that it would be another storyline that had nothing to do with the zombies

We did get A LOT of information from those guys. And to me that's why they were interesting - because they were out trying to find answers. Rick & the gang just want to hunker down and, what, wait things out?

That might be the most discouraging part - you were worried about another storyline with nothing to do with zombies, but those guys just wrote off (potentially) half a dozen paths their journey could take them.

We already have one "the worlds gone to shit so lets not even bother trying to be civilized adults anymore" character (Shane) so adding two more wouldn't have really made sense.

Though from the preview of the next episode I don't think they fully dealt with the problem because the preview shows that the group somehow finds or is found by someone and they are debating about whether to give him some supplies and send him back or not thinking it may "cause a war". I think perhaps it's a person from the group that the dead douchebags belong to.

We get it. You don't really like the show and the "human condition" aspect of it. No need to point that out to us in nearly every post.

And you have Dale as a foil. Playing those two off each other has already gotten stale. Unbalancing the scales a bit wouldn't have been a bad thing, IMO. Besides, if they had a camp as well then presumably there's a mix of people in it, also.

    Why not? Dexter did it.

just bc you could do it, doesn't mean you should. and just bc one show may or may not have done it successfully doesn't mean it woulda worked with TWD.

I have no opinion on the potential baby. Although I'd agree it was holding them back, as Rick didn't seem to be making decisions in the best interest of the group. But that's a Rick issue more so than a baby issue.

By the way, nice line from Rick: "she loves you, we all see that....and it's not because you're one of the last guys left, either (although obviously if it wasn't I wouldn't feel need to point that out)"

I don't buy the "this show sucks"/"this episode was boring" sentiment. I thought the first part of this season was indeed slow, but I loved this episode.

I loved this episode. Rick went BA at the end.

Next weeks looks pretty damn good. Rick and his gang seemingly get stuck in the bar by those two dudes' group -- gun fight ensues.

Also looks like there's going to be some nice zombie action.

Count me as another who doesn't buy the "This show sucks/bores" argument. These are the people who still don't understand what The Walking Dead is.

There was 1 live zombie scene in this episode...and it was a zombie who we thought was already dead in the beginning. This episode was better than most in the first half of the season...but still incredibly slow and not what made me fall in love with the show.

It seems like we keep saying "next week".... I don't think that's a good sign.

Why watch something that doesn't entertain you?

I didn't say it didn't entertain me. I'm saying it's just slow and not living up to Season 1. I'll still enjoy watching it. Durrrrrr!

I read about a month ago what the writers (who were fired) from Season 1 had planned for Season 2. Sounded amazing. They were going to have 2 storylines on a crash-course for Atlanta, but not tell us it was all BEFORE Season 1 (though, not sure we wouldnt have figured it out pretty quickly). It was going to be the main cast we had in Season 1 in a much more side role and character development of them. Then the Army guys trying to protect things etc, were going to be the main storyline. It was going to culminate in the Finale with Rick going to Atlanta and finding the other set of characters all dead, including the "main" character who Rick would find in the tank.

I'm sure if this has been mentioned, but I've heard they aimed to cut cost for the 2nd season which will result in less elaborate scenes? I'm not sure how true this is.

Also, I just watched the episode. Rick with the quickdraw like a bawwwsss!

So far pretty good for this episode. Pulling that leg off of the fence and the wrecked car scene have been pretty intense!
