The Walking Dead (tv show)

The midseason break is going to allow the new writers time to implement their own ideas/progression.

It almost feels like the last several episodes were "filler" type episodes, as the staff was in transition.

I'm still enjoying the show though.

Next weeks looks promising. Finally a lot of the stuff was let out, especially Lori's pregnancy.

Also liked the little confrontation between Dale and Shane at the end. Looks like there may be some nice conflict next week.

    I agree with that....

I think this was a great episode to get things settled within the group.....I still like the show and will continue to watch, just wish it had more action like last year.

That could prove to be a fatal weakness of the show. Shane MIGHT work as kind of the "self-preservation" type of jerk. But other than Darryl, none of the characters are very likeable and more problematic is most of the characters are annoying/irritating.

I want to see them progressing toward something, even if they/we don't know what that is. I'm not interested in watching them hunker-down and portray the human condition (i.e. art imitating life). The characters aren't remotely compelling enough for me to care if she wants to bring her baby into the world, or that grandpa disapproves of Shane's morality, or that momma doesn't want her kid to shoot a gun.

I may be in the minority, but I am enjoying this season. I will trust the writers and producers and just go along for the ride. I think they will have the show pick up and have more action. I am enjoying the storylines though.

That was a good episode for Dale. Confronting people all over the place.

Season 1 was much better than this season so far, but I don't think it's been horrible.

    Agreed!

The one thing I'll say about Dale's character is it's interesting to see the moral superiority and condescension when other people couldn't give a shit just trying to survive. That some people cling desperately to "civilized humanity" while others subscribe to survival of the fittest is unsurprising and predictable. I just think the writers have failed to present the human element in an interesting or unique way, while also being redundant (Laurie says maybe it's better for her son to leave this world, then a few weeks later she doesn't want to bring a baby into it).

The writing and story lines haven't been bad or poorly done, just not compelling. If the mid-year finale isn't amazing they will likely lose a lot of viewers when the 2nd half picks back up.

I'm still loving the show. And I agree about the writers.

    Agree with this as well.

I want a zombie baby or toddler. They could keep it in a cage like a dog.

I liked tonight's episode quite a bit. The development of each character is getting better and better.

They need to get off the fucking farm. Maybe with the conflict next week in the finale they will and when it picks back up they will be at a different location trying to actually get somewhere.

I don't have a problem with the way the episodes are going. Yea they are a little slower but I like the character development. Although Dale needs to watch his mouth when confronting Shane, its like Shane said what do you think I would do to a guy I dont even like? Next weeks episode looks good, need more Darryl though dude is a badass. ( But after working Blade what do you expect)

  • KR1245
Easily the best 5 minutes in the series to this point, that was awesome
  • hoops23
That entre sequence with Shane was awesome, including walking up and putting one to the walkers head point blank.

And killing Sophia off was great.
  • Heelz
That was some pretty hardcore shit. Sucks thats how they found Sophia.
  • justincredible
    That. Was. Awesome.

    Holy shit.
