Do you buy yours in bulk, BR? If so, how much do you pay per pound if you don't mind me asking? I've found a couple farms in Ohio that strictly deal in grass-fed beef and the best I've found was $3.49/lb for a whole, $3.99/lb for a half.
That is about right including butchering for what I pay. -
justincredibleFunny thing is there was actually a story on the news not too long ago about some half-crazy lady keeping chickens within city limits. She was odd.

SonofanumpMarco's pizza day for daughters school. First time having flour since Easter. Back to strict tomorrow.

I didn't realize that Marco's was that big of a chain, I thought they were just around here. -

I'm really greasing the wheels with the wife to get a few acres in the country for our next house and essentially become self sufficient on food. We wouldn't need an ass-ton of acreage to raise one or two cattle and a couple hogs with some chickens running around. I found the perfect property on craiglist tonight but unfortunately it's in Mansfield.

Don't be hating on Mansfield! -

Different Mansfield, I believe. Not by up by where we came from. The phone number on that property (West Mansfield) is a Dayton exchange. -
justincredibleJust looked it up and it is actually near Bellefontaine.

I actually saw it in the amazon preview of the book you posted yesterday. -
BR1986FBYeah, pork rinds are primal.
-

I used to eat it but not now. The only dairy I do now is heavy whipping cream in my morning coffee. Otherwise it's strictly coconut milk.OneBuckeye;754342 wrote:Yeah I am going to buy that one after reaing reviews and such.

BR1986FBHad a nice breakfast earlier, after a 17 hour fast & training, of 2 hard boiled eggs, farm raised Italian sausage and a cut up apple sauteed in Kerry Gold Irish butter, a few walnuts & cinnamon.
The Paleo eating is really shedding the fat. The infamous "love handles" no longer exist but still have a tad bit of lower ab & lower back fat that needs to go. Hoping for this to be gone by July/August. -
BR1986FBBurned 359 calories doing 15 minutes of "Power Clean, Jump Rope, Barbell Curl Interval (Crossfit)"
Did these in intervals, 5 heavy reps for the lifts, 60 seconds jump rope. Decided to add curls as a finishing move although I know they aren't prescribed "Crossfit." Completed 6 intervals. Good burn for 15 minutes.
Now for some eggs, sausage & blueberries.... -
BR1986FBFive "bad" foods that are good for you...

Any difference on how eggs are prepared, i.e. hard boiled vs scrambled with EVOO or real butter vs raw uncooked? -

I eat em any which way. I'll have hard boiled every so often with some Frank's Red Hot or horseradish put on them. I usually cook my fried/scrambled eggs in coconut oil. It's a taste that's hard to describe...almost velvety. I'll cook them in the Kerry Gold Irish butter too but mostly coconut oil.
By "difference" do you mean caloric intake? -
justincredibleI had two fried eggs in bacon grease for breakfast and I am eating jalapeno egg salad for lunch. Eggs = GOAT.

Amen. Sure beats limiting yourself to egg whites and Egg Beaters.
Wish I would have known about Paleo/Primal long ago. I think a lot of people see the nutrition as 'restrictive" because of the lack of grains, glutens, wheat, etc but it's actually just the opposite. We're eating meats with healthy fats, whole butter, heavy whipping cream (in my coffee), healthy oils, dark chocolate etc while the people that are eating "healthy" are watching labels for low fats. -
justincredibleLow fat. Psshh.
Since getting back into primal/paleo I'm down to 185 which is the lightest I've been since at least sophomore year of high school. I was 189 for my wedding almost 2 years ago and have hovered between 190 and 200 since then. -
pinstriperHow does this compare to the P90X diet (portion plan)? I just completed my first round of P90X and got great results - 22% body fat down to 11%. Started at 170 and dropped 10 lbs, didn't really want to drop any, but it just happened. I'm starting round 2 next week and am looking to shed some more body fat around the lower abs and a little love handles. Do you think just following the P90X diet will do the trick?
