    I think you misinterpreted my post. I said it's unlikely he's consuming 2200 calories per day less than his BMR. That just isn't realistic unless a large majority of that is water weight.

    Continue with the broscience though.

    Paleo eating is definitely bro science. I don't really know much about intermittent fasting but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand if you under-consume calories you are going to lose weight. Shocking revelation right there.

    Well I'm definitely interested in the price, but even if it's more, that's fine. I'm actually open to just trying some new stuff. I've found about 5 or 6 local farmers and have bought from them. Some are worth it, others not, but definitely into trying new sources. Shoot me a PM if you want.

    A lot of IF'ers don't under-consume calories.

    I generally don't do more than 20-hour fasts anymore, but when I did, and was at my peak and able to easily go 36-hours or so, my food consumption windows generally included a whole 2 days worth of calories in an 8 to 12 hour span.

    However, I didn't use it to drop weight. I also combined it with certain metabolic and strength training at specific times. I'd say that IF by itself may help someone improve digestion and inflammation, but it's not necessarily going to result in fat loss. Weight loss, probably...especially considering inflammation should go down and most IF's are going to have to go along with a low carbohydrate intake as those who can't burn fat during the fasted state can't possibly go that long without eating.

    Sleeper, interesting that this is one of the few threads I don't find your comments highly-annoying. This is definitely great stuff to debate and other opinions are welcomed IMO. This is my passion in life, more so than anything else, so keep it coming! Some well-educated folks on here...

    Is this assumption including a solid eating program? The reason I ask is that Martin Berkhan's (LeanGains) clients seem to shed a ton of fat while gaining muscle. They eat pretty clean, for the most part, but they do sometimes have their splurges such as cheesecake & ice cream. Fat loss doesn't seem to be an issue with IF from what I've seen.

    Scientific proof of what? The Paleo Diet is nothing more than some guy trying to make a buck off of people looking for the next cool thing to make them feel special. The concept of eating fruits and vegetables, limiting refined sugars(carbs), under consuming, is literally the standard that people should be doing, not some special diet. Do you really believe that if we eat like our ancestors, hunter gatherer style, is somehow the key to healthy living? LOL

    This statement doesn't make any sense to me. Could you define what is meant by intermittent fasting? From what I understand, its eating every other day. This is under-consuming calories, because what you eat on one day is negated by what your body uses the next day + more.

    Making money off of me? Hardly. If buying healthier qualities of meat (than McDonalds :rolleyes:), no grains/starches/etc, hea;thy fats and the like are "making money", guess they have me hook, line & sinker just like the fatass "shills" that purchase from your "alleged' McDonald's. :rolleyes:

Like I said, its just another diet fad built with broscience mixed in with some truths like eating fruits and vegetables and avoiding processed food. I don't need to read a book to understand processed food is bad for you, apparently you do though. Congrats!
