Grant it, I haven't had a huge selection of their beers. But the 4-5 I tried before the IPA/black lager were very overrated imo.

Sierra nevada, and the two different SA's I have left for masters.

Was in TSUN earlier so I had to stop and pick up some Short's, got a 6 pack of Huma-Lupa-Licious IPA. Wish it were sold here but a 25 min drive is nothing for some good beer.

Picked up some Wake Up Dead myself tonight. I also grabbed some Saison de Lente from The Bruery...and lots of other beers and wines to the tune of $112.00.

Bought some Great Divide Colette Farmhouse Ale, Sam Adams Imperial Stout (Imperial Series), Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye IPA and DFH Saison Du Buff today.

Had a couple of Shoals on tap at the pub last night. I had full intentions of drinking the D.O.R.I.S, but changed my mind. I had to get up a few hours earlier than normal so I ended up wasting a Mt Carmel Nut Brown. Damn.

Down to 2 Hopslams now. Double Damn.

Had a couple of Snake Dog IPAs last night. They were decent. Wouldn't go out of my way to have them again.

DORIS the Destroyer is excellent for a cold night! I had one a couple nights ago (not the perfect night for it, but it was still good) for the first time, and I was very impressed.

I was considering this last week. I ended up going with something else, but reading this, I probably won't grab them unless they're offered, or it's slim pickings otherwise. Thanks for the heads up!

Wife just got back from Denver and brought back Great Divide Yeti and Belgian Style Yeti. Also have Founders KBS and Curmudgeon on the way from a buddy in Cincinnati. Pretty excited to sample all 4.
To my surprise, it was actually Curmudgeon's Better Half. Thought this was excellent, one of the better whiskey/barrel aged ales I've had. Would love to get my hands on another one of these. Preferred it to the KBS, although that was great as well.

Also, the local grocer had 3 sixers of Nugget Nectar, so we made sure to grab all 3 of those as well.

Curmys are great and pretty available in the Cincy area in four packs. It is dangerous as it is so delicious you want to keep drinking another even though you shouldn't. Very well made beer, of course everything from Founders is solid.

I still prefer the KBS to it as I'm a stout guy. Plus KBS is harder to find. I'm still holding on to six of them and thinking about ageing four of them.

The KBS was very good, the best stout I sampled this weekend, but I prefer ales to stouts. Although I'm becoming a bigger and bigger fan of stouts. Do they sell the Curmudgeons Better Half in 4 packs? or just the regular Curmudgeon? I was told the Better Half was pretty hard to come by as well. My friend was limited to buying 1, but sent his wife back in later to pick up a second and he lives in Cincy.

Ah, sorry about that. I was talking about regular Curmys. I saw you mention Curmudgeon in the first post then Better Half in your second post. I have not seen the Better Half yet, but will have to look for it. I'd love to try it as Old Ales/Barley Wine Style is my second favorite style, followed by IPAs. Do you know anything about Phily beer sales? Would I have to call ahead somewhere or just show up at a distribitorship?

Curly, I think i'lll be heading to Jungle Jim's sometime next week. Want to meet up for a beer/beer shopping around the area?

Obviously a ploy to steal your KBS.

    Beer tastes bad.

    Hope this helps.

I've never had KBS, so I won't be doing that. I will be trying to bring the rape hammer down on curly though.

No idea, but it shows the areas on their website where they distribute. I would do some research and try to find out what stores carry it. Beer Advocate along with rating beers also rates beer stores, and also has forums/threads set up by regions. You could check out the Phily area on there and see how available it is.

I'm usually there on most Saturdays or sometimes a Sunday so either day sounds good. Gordo's Pub is in the same complex has a Huge beer selection. I'll even bring a KBS with me for ya, in case Jungle Jim's is out of them. Oh and as far as Rape bring the hammer, well my philosophy on it is "if rape is inevitable, relax and enjoy it."

Thanks, I'll check out BA for stores.

Having a Firestone Union Jack IPA right now. Pretty good, but a little bit let down based on the beer advocate score. Its good, but I wouldn't put it in the elite IPA status. Great value though as I only paid $8 for a 6er.

What site do you guys use, beer advocate or rate beer? I use beer advocate because it was the first one I came across. Hardly ever look at ratebeer.com

I've always been more of a ratebeer guy. I guess that's due to the presenter, at the tastings I used to go to, always referred to them. I signed up years ago, but have never done any ratings. I hardly visit it anymore unless I have a question about a beer.
