Notre Dame Football 2010.......The Brian Kelly Era Begins

Wrong! I would never try to compare an NFL title to a Super Bowl, the two are not even close. Good for Cleveland and those titles, that's the way it worked back then but the Super Bowl is MUCH harder to win..........there's more teams and the talent is undoubtedly better in the Super Bowl era, plus the salary cap makes it even more difficult today. You should be proud of those titles but don't try to compare them to six Lombardi Trophies because they don't even come close!

Not a bad read about Kelly changing attitudes and getting them to buy into his way of doing things.

    Good read!

blah blah blah..i'll just respond because i like to argue with you. If you want it that way, then notre dame has 0 championships. Because anything before the bcs was a joke because the champion was selected, instead of actually playing in a championship game. Plus, todays talent is much better than what notre dame was playing in the 30s.

    btw ewok..
this is exactly what i meant about the double standard. rock claims that nfl championships of that time are worthless, yet somehow the ncaa championships will still be equivalent or even greater than what they are today.

btw: i really think a championship= a championship no matter what time period...i was just using rock's logic to prove how stupid he is.

The 30's is a far cry from 1989... And actually if you want to put your way, there has never been an actual NCAA champion, because the teams are selected by people and computers as to who plays. Nevermind in 1989 ND's last championship it was against the #1 and #2 team.

And I think that is all that anyone can really ask for.....CONSISTENCY. People can't have it both ways. Whether they're an ND or OSU fan or a Steelers or Browns fan.

Where did I post that? Speaking of someone who's stupid, you obviously struggle with reading comprehension. I love it when people like you make shit up or put words in to someone's mouth to support your argument, that's STUPID.

Worthless, no but those titles are not the equal. That's how it was back then and good for Cleveland, but there's NO WAY in hell that an NFL title can be compared to a Super Bowl, no way!

Your logic can be seen as flawed too. Wasn't there a split title several years ago with USC finishing #1 in the final poll yet they didn't win the BCS title game?

my opinion is the only way to really find a "true" champion is by having a playoff. I said that just to use your logic of how anything pre super bowl era is no where near equivalent to the super bowl era. Which, imo, it is equal.

I'm not sure what the ESPN article did more for me, piss me off more at Charlie Weis or be excited for Brian Kelly?

I'll go with be excited for Brian Kelly.

Kelly changing the culture at ND, attention to detail is huge with him.

Kelly said today that both Crist and Rudolph will play in the Blue-Gold game. Crist will obviously be withheld from contact, but it is good to see that he has progressed far enough in his rehab that he can participate.

Kickoff is set for this Saturday at 1:30. und.com will stream the game live.

Got another commitment today Mathias Farley, CN from NC, 6'1 190, has some pretty good offers and last year was his first one playing football, a ton of upside.

Not bad. Clausen got drafted into a good situation in Carolina and Tate is part of arguably the most impressive draft by a team (Seattle) thus far.
  • karen lotz
I agree killer. Both of them might be a little disappointed with where they were taken in the draft pick wise, but they should both be pretty pleased with the teams that took them. Carolina has one of the best running games in the league, a better than average defense, and a established go to receiver in Steve Smith.
