Amazingly, this story has been overlooked by all the Big 10 talk. TE Mike Ragone was busted for possession of marijuana:

The story says a women in the car with him had two bags in her purse after he was stopped for speeding. I'll be interested to see how this is handled because two precedents were set when ND basketball player Kyle McAlarney, who was suspended but later reinstated, and Demetrius Jones who had a similar situation but the charges were dropped because he wasn't in direct possession after another person testified as such.

How much pot did the 'two bags' have in it? For his sake lets hope it was less than an eighth total or I'm sure he will be dealt with pretty harshly by the University.

Ragone admitted the pot was his:

It's a misdemeanor charge, they found less than 30 grams and I'm guessing that's Indiana law? His future remains in limbo.

On a brighter note, Mike Floyd and Kyle Rudolph were named Lindy's preseason 1st team All Americans:

Talks are supposedly being held for a 2012 game at Soldier Field against Miami.

Is this a sign that the talks have stopped between ND and Wisconsin? There were discussions about a game in Madison in 2012. If both games were scheduled, ND would have games at Oklahoma, at USC, at Wisconsin and a neutral site game against the U. Throw in the game in Dublin with Navy and that would be a brutal schedule.

I wonder if Miami will still be viewed the same on this site in 2012 as it is for this season?

IMO, 2012 will be brutal with or without Miami and Wisconsin.

Depends. College football teams/personnel are very fluid. If they are a preseason top 15 team, then they will be viewed the same.
  • karen lotz
there are reports now that Miami and ND will have a 3 game series. The game at soldier field in 2012 followed by a home and home in 2014 and 2016.

We could always use the excuse of "the schedules are made years in advance, how was anyone to know they would be down when it came time to play our team".
  • The Equalizer
    Nobody ever uses that excuse.....
  • sjmvsfscs08
^^Ohio State did with Washington I believe. Believe it or not, it's a rather legitimate reason. It's pretty tough to know what teams will have years down the road.

I'm not sure what you are even attempting to imply but, as karen said, that is a very legitimate reason. Not that hard to understand.

Was looking for some other stuff and came across this. Must be a few years old since ND finally got a big bowl win, but still funny.

It's nice to have the best of both worlds...playing for conference championships and BCS opportunities.

Opportunities? Not wins? LOL Kelly was a good fit, he knows damn well getting to a BCS game is a HUGE accomplishment, now winning them is another story.
