Why? When considering the talent level of the Navy program it seems to be a very reasonable OCC schedule.sleeper;1639934 wrote:Must suck having to play such powerhouses as Army/AF/ND every year for your OOC schedule. -
HereticThere's something just glorious about this thread. Sleeper is giving a great effort at trash-talking ConAlma about the beating Navy will get and everything is just being no-sold in pure, undistilled ConAlma style.
If the actual game is anywhere near as entertaining, it will be an all-time classic! -
Con_AlmaThat was trash-talking??
Blame me for not recognizing it. :RpS_blushing: -

Huh? I admit... I'm clueless here... Can you help fill me in?Con_Alma;1639930 wrote:The opener will be the only "flexible" game/date in the future for the Mids. With the new conference schedule and the Air Force/Notre Dame/Army games being untouchable, the opportunities to play other programs of interest are reduced to just one week....the opener. This is a drastic change from being able to completely control their schedule as an independent.
Are you trying to insinuate that we have set future games against Air Force, Notre Dame, and Army? Because I'm not seeing them on our schedule(s). -

The post you copied stated, "in the future for the Mids". It didn't reference Ohio State. As HighRoller posted, it was a comment about Navy's schedule.Scarlet_Buckeye;1640007 wrote:Huh? I admit... I'm clueless here... Can you help fill me in?

Ahhhh... Thank you both guys. I missed "the Mids". I thought the original comment was saying Ohio State. I now realize it was saying Navy. My mistake. Con_AlmaHey, no problem. Hope you enjoy the game.

Con_Alma28 days to kickoff.
Navy Fan Fest took place this morning. Niumatalolo stated this year's Ohio State Game will be the toughest season opener he's ever had to prepare for. -

He coached Navy before the current regime and runs the exact same offense as Navy does. My comment wasn't in regards to the coaching staff but rather in regards to how other teams have done facing similar offensive attacks with extra time to prep.Con_Alma;1639890 wrote:??? I agree that Ohio State should be a massive favorite in this game but what does Paul Johnson have to do with it? He's starting his seventh year as the head coach at Georgia Tech right now.

Thanks for the clarification. Although Paul Johnson brought the triple option to Navy and Niumatalolo is a disciple of his, make no mistake they are different offenses. Ivan Jasper, the Offensive Coordinator has changed it to a true flex-bone as opposed to Johnson's spread type triple which merely replaced the two slots with what were originally were running back types, with wide receiver types.
Johnson's influence actually came from an Ohio High School guy, Tiger Ellis, who moved his backs from the I formation into the slots and developed what became know as the run and shoot.
Niumatalolo / Jasper's offense is more of a veer/wishbone mindset with many different counters combined with a handful of derivatives off of the Mid-line with a few rocket sweeps thrown in. In addition, Jasper is actually willing to trow the ball when he thinks he is able to although against the Buckeyes he'll probably want to see that clock keep running. Lol -
athlete37Navy is coming in on a five game winning streak and scored 34+ points in 8 games. A team who gave up 34 offensive points to a Michigan State team that struggled to score on just about everyone last year shouldn't be counting on a 40 point win against Navy. Just saying that this could be a game for 2-3 quarters, even if Navy doesn't win

They're actually coming in this season with a 0 game winning streak.athlete37;1641423 wrote:Navy is coming in on a five game winning streak and scored 34+ points in 8 games. Con_Alma thinks it'll be close. I think it will be 6 TDs or greater...in the first half.athlete37;1641423 wrote:Navy is coming in on a five game winning streak and scored 34+ points in 8 games. Are you speculating on what I think or did you read that somewhere? I don't think you'll find any post of mine stating that I think it will be close. -

You have not agreed with me, therefore I assume you think it will be close. I don't think there is anyone dumb enough to think Navy will win this game; it's only by how much. Correct me if I'm wrong Con_Alma, but you think this game will be within 6 TDs correct?Con_Alma;1641523 wrote:????

Con_AlmaSo you were speculating. I appreciate the clarification.
I will correct you then since you are wrong. I have no expectation that the game will be close at all. I have no idea if it will be within 6 TDs or not. It could be more or less. There's no way to know at this point....by anyone.
I have read that the Buckeyes have 7 guys with a 4.4 40yd. How sad of a showing would it be for the Buckeyes if they weren't up by 40 points at halftime like you posted earlier. Navy has has no one who can run a 4.4. ...jusr a bunch of undersized, slow future military officers. -

That's a polite way of saying "wot m8? We focking lost".Con_Alma;1641533 wrote:So you were speculating. I appreciate the clarification.

Con_AlmaI apologize. I don't understand that. I'm glad at least you construe it as polite.

Con_AlmaBig blow to the Navy defense today. Senior inside LB Polamalu is forced to retire from football for "medical reasons". This is Troy Polamalu's son.

It is not Troys son. He has two sons one born in 08 and the other born in 2010. I am assuming you meant to say its his cousin.Con_Alma;1641606 wrote:Big blow to the Navy defense today. Senior inside LB Polamalu is forced to retire from football for "medical reasons". This is Troy Polamalu's son. -

Too bad for the young man, and I didn't even know Polamalu had a kid that old! -
