I'll be there. No way game day is though.

Bleacher report must have gotten confused with the question.

    Not a chance--my money's on either the Clemson/Georgia or LSU/Wisky game.

This would be my guess too.

Both of those two games are intriguing with the fan-base size to support Game Day being there.

OSU honestly will probably destroy Navy, why would Gameday do that game? Honestly though OSU's D-Line is going to be so good and explosive it'll destroy that option attack

Con_Alma thinks Navy has a chance when the reality is what you just posted. It'll be 42 - 0 after the first half and then Urban will put the cheerleaders in for the rest of the game.

You know not what you speak of regrading what I believe. I'll try and clarify it for you.

If Navy is in the game at all in the second half it will say more about the Buckeyes than the Midshipment. If this game is even close with the "cheerleaders" in the game it should be unacceptable to Coach Meyer.

Game Day wouldn't do that. Did you see who it was making the prediction? Tells you all you need to know.

I have tried to add additional information from those who are closer to the teams/players and coaches. I think most of the time I've included the link to that information. Were you looking for something specific?

The post you copied of mine was a response to someone stating that I thought that Navy "had a chance" and then predicted it would be 42-0 at halftime. It might be. If it's not it's my opinion that score would say more about tOSU than Navy. Don't you think possibly the best program in the country should be able to be up 42-0 at the half when playing what different ranking services say is a team somewhere between 42nd-57th in the country?

What do you think OSU wants to win by?
  • vball10set
^^^ignore him, con_alma, most of us do...hopefully someday he'll just go away.
  • Con_Alma
Others predicting them being up by 42 at the half should put them in good shape to win by 50 plus then.

    Lindy's preseason rankings:

    5. Ohio State

    63. Navy

Also on both team's schedule is Rutgers who is ranked 74th.

Ironic that the final score is probably going to be Ohio State 63 - Navy 5.
  • Con_Alma
    5's an interesting total score!!
  • Classyposter58
I doubt the score gets that out of hand. Navy has good athletes, discipline and an offense that runs a ton of time off the clock. 4 touchdowns is dominating

And Ohio State has more 5* talent on its defensive line than Navy has had in its entire history. It will be a STOMP if Urban wants it to be.

Navy sneaks up on teams in the middle of the season when they only have a week to prepare in between games. With Ohio State having a whole offseason plus the extra focus of a first game of the season, I don't see Navy having a chance.

These offenses typically struggle in bowl games due to extra prep time for the opponent.

Paul Johnson is 3-6 in Bowl Games. Navy, since 2006, is 2-4 in Bowl Games.

I don't have first game of the season stats available offhand.

Well Navy sure as shit seemed to sneak up on an unsuspecting Ohio State team in 2009 after having an entire offseason to prepare.

As a Buckeye I'm just gonna ignore the whole "time to prepare" argument after 2006 & 2007

??? I agree that Ohio State should be a massive favorite in this game but what does Paul Johnson have to do with it? He's starting his seventh year as the head coach at Georgia Tech right now.

Meanwhile Ken Niumatalolo is 3-3 in season openers and 2-3 in Bowl games at Navy..

    Season Openers
    2008 Win Towson St
    2009 Loss Ohio State
    2010 Loss Maryland
    2011 Win Delaware
    2012 Loss Notre Dame
    2013 Win Indiana

    Bowl Games
    2008 Loss Wake Forest
    2009 Win Missouri
    2010 Loss San Diego St
    2011 No Bowl Game
    2012 Loss Arizona St
    2013 Win Middle Tennessee St

Soon to be 3-4 in season openers.

The opener will be the only "flexible" game/date in the future for the Mids. With the new conference schedule and the Air Force/Notre Dame/Army games being untouchable, the opportunities to play other programs of interest are reduced to just one week....the opener. This is a drastic change from being able to completely control their schedule as an independent.

Must suck having to play such powerhouses as Army/AF/ND every year for your OOC schedule.
  • Con_Alma
As of May 19th only two Ohio residents will be suiting up for the Mids to face the Buckeyes. Turner is currently 4th on the depth chart at WR while Whiteside is a projected starter in the slot.

86 Julian Turner So. 6-2 190 Warrensville, Ohio

29 Geoffrey Whiteside Sr. 5-10 177 Columbus, Ohio
