Tress had 100% good intentions. He loves the military. One of my buddies in Hawaii, his boss randomly received an OSU camp helmet they wore one spring signed by tressel. Tress had gone to ROTC and asked for names or active duty officers that had gone through OSU ROTC and had them sent out. Was pretty cool.

and I imagine with it being the first game of the season they had more time to build up to it and gave it extra attention.

I still give him shit for this.

I'd find a way to get out of it.

I will grant you this though - the current hired gun/coach of the Buckeyes wouldn't hesitate to run up points on Navy and win by a lopsided score if the opportunity arises. I just don't think that'll be the case.
    42-0 at half.

Giving things to the academy, shocking.

    Why the downgrade in predictions??

Think academy graduates owe 4 to 6 years. My wife owed 4 years to the USAF.

When graduating Annapolis each officer has a minimum service obligation of 5 years of active duty with 3 years inactive duty. That's the minimum. If after graduation additional training or education is needed for a specific career or service, then additional service obligation time is required and the clock doesn't start ticking until the training is complete and the service begins.

As an example, a naval aviator might have an obligation of 7 years and the clock doesn't start until flight school is complete. If said aviator agrees or choose to be trained for jets and become carrier certified then their service obligation might be 10 years and the clock doesn't start until complete jet certification is finished.

Yea lots of stipulations. My wife is about to start physician assistant school through the military and she owes them 6 year commitment after the schooling. Plus can receive none of the retention bonuses until that 6 years is up as well.

I'm not familiar with the Air Force Academy's requirements but that sounds pretty reasonable to me....although 6 year commitment for a physician assistant training isn't too shabbly. Sounds like a bargain!

Will not happen. You have nothing to base your prediction upon. Past performance indicates a close game. Even with the hired SEC gun as the coach, this may still be a battle. Now that the quarterback position at Ohio State is up in the air, I would temper my cockiness.

Maybe Ohio State should conduct an official inquiry into the culture of the pistol team. This would distract from the Miller injury and would allow the courageous leadership to fire another leader.

    What is inaccurate about it?
Graduates do have to serve a term after their graduate.

Ohio State could trot out a cheerleader at QB and still win by 50 points.

Found out B.Miller was hurt. Might shave off a TD at half.
  • sleeper
    B. Miller: Heisman trophy front runner and the best player to ever play for or against Navy is out for the season.

    35-0 at half.

If he is out for year could he redshirt and comeback next year?
  • Automatik
Yes he could and no he won't.

    Miller is gone.

I think if he is held out the entire year, he would be eligible for a medical redshirt. There is precedent for this. Braxton Miller seems like a great kid and I hate to see this. I wish him well in his recovery.

If he's out for the year, he could be a regular redshirt.

Sounds right to me. It's 5 years to play 4 correct?

Navy Coach Niumatalolo reacts to the news of Miller being injured. ...says he feels bad for him and his family.

I think everyone who watches college football does. It sucks.
