Put up great offense last year in limited minutes. This year he's kinda blossomed into his body, dude is just a freak athlete

Toledo got beat handedly tonight against 7-5 Western Michigan by double digits, giving the Rockets two straight defeats. Not a great loss, not that any loss is ever good. As Laley said previously, barring not cutting down the nets after the MAC Tournament, Toledo's only hope for an at-large bid is to lose no more than one game here on out. Likely not gonna happen.

Yeah couldn't believe that, but had to be better than the crap I watched at Stroh tonight. BG is so poor offensively it's unreal, can't wait until Orr is gone

^^ Quick change of tune about BG. WMU is an alright MAC team, but opened my eyes that not only did Toledo lose, but lost by double digits.

Wouldn't be surprised if Akron gets curb stomped by OU this weekend. Some holes..nobody is hitting the 3, pg play blows (Evans shows some rare flashes), and leadership isn't there. Team has no heart. Going to take some good conference wins for me to change my mind about them.

Yeah BG when they can't get it going in transition is just awful. EMU gets up and down well and has a lot of size, BG was stuck in half court offense almost all game and it didn't go well

They just can't win in Kzoo, as this is their 11th loss in the last 12 games there. Time to right the ship, Rockets, or you'll be watching in March instead of Dancing.

Good win for the Bobcats over Kent last night.

That 17 pt loss to Oakland is looking worse and worse for their at-large chances.

That loss is keeping them from 12-2 with 2 losses to top 20 teams (although Umass did just lose last night to St. Joes). Sigh..

UMass actually made a valiant comeback to beat St. Joe's last night, so still a "good" loss at this point for Ohio. That was a really, really good game. Minutemen trailed by 8 with about two minutes left. Then Chaz Williams took over.

Wow did they really? I need to learn to stop turning my attention elsewhere when I think it's over. Did the same for OSU msu the other night

Haha, yeah, and I do the same a lot. Only kept watching since I had money on it.

Man, no one (and by no one, I specifically mean Pick6...no way in hell I was going to post about a 2-OT loss) mentioned the OU-Akron game.

But OU followed up a loss with a pretty convincing win against Ball State, so they're still in good shape to be near the top of the conference, which is huge just because of how many byes you get if you're a top-2 seed.

I was annoyed by OU's loss to Akron. It appeared as if the Bobcats had that game in hand and then somehow the Zips came back in 2 Ot's to beat Ohio at the Convo. Pissed me off.

The bounce back win against Ball State is a good thing but where would the Bobcats be right now if they had beaten Akron? Ohio needs to win the big conference games as well as dominate the MAC cellar dwellers.

haha. I have been in Chicago for the week for work. Followed on twitter though and it seemed like a hell of a game!! Makes me feel a little better about conference play.

MAYBE the biggest conference game of the year coming up tomorrow morning at 11am with Toledo @ Akron.

Why do all student sections in the MAC suck?

Akron's arena makes for a shitty atmosphere. All of the hardcore Rowdies are in the bottom 4 rows, then the other 90% of student are up top essentially isolated. And the tip off was at 11 this morning..

Been a strong first 5 minutes, he needs to maintain if the Zips want to have a chance

yeah..I didnt even go out last night and I didnt wake up til 11. Regardless, I still think the student section has plenty of room for improvement, but are limited to what they can do with the shitty seating they get

Im not knocking Toledo..I expected them to win the conference in the regular season and they have some damn nice talent on their team that has been interesting to watch develop over the past few seasons, but games like this just pisses me off. Akron, along with OU has been the best program in the conference for the last 5ish years, yet a program like Toledo who has good talent coming through comes into the JAR and essentially runs the train on us. The game was never really in doubt. Their best player in Pearson did nothing today.

The program is stuck in a stagnant place. How are we one of the worst FT shooting teams in the country?? And by one of the worst, I mean there are like 12 teams who shoot worse than us. The question is to stick with Dambrot and win the MAC and do nothing in the post season/OOC (which I am frankly tired of) or go out and get someone who you think can take the program to the next level, but also run the risk of the program dropping off.

There are some coaches out there, who would fit the latter, and would for sure use it as a stepping stone. However, it might provide 2-4 very quality seasons.

Kelvin Sampson's 5-year show-cause expired this past August.
Bruce Pearl's 3-year show-cause expires this coming August.

The latter is more likely. There is no doubt he gets back into coaching and will likely have to start somewhere outside one of the major conferences. It's all going to depend which programs decides to bring him on with the perceived baggage.

Rockets playing as if they are about to go down at home to a mediocre Kent State squad. Toledo hasn't looked good of late. A loss and this team's NCAA chances are done. I simply do not have any faith in Toledo getting it done in Cleveland to clinch a bid the hard way against teams with experience who have been there.

I like Akron or Buffalo to win it out of the East.

    Toledo escapes.

They haven't looked as solid of late, but if they lose in the MAC Finals and have like a 30-3 record (dunno what it would be), do they get an at large. Computers probably won't like them...but 30 fucking wins!?!
