And they shot 76% in the second half on the iu game without him, so ha

I think everyone knew what I meant. It was a joke on those two, who are awful.

The fact that Amir gets the ball knocked out of his hands about 10 times a game helps him keep that percentage up. Can't miss if you can't get the ball up to the rim.
  • Terry_Tate
It's still amazing to me how Amir brings the ball down almost every single time he catches it in the post. Against Maryland he brought one down where all it looked like he needed to do was turn around and he could have put it in

Lulz it was just awesome to watch UNC blow this game.

Any word on why Loving is suspended, aside from general dumbassery?

Bucks down 8 early in the 2nd half.
  • se-alum
Thought going to the bench may have been the boot in the ass that Amir needed, hasn't helped at all.
  • se-alum
Home court advantage in full affect for the Boilers.
  • Mulva
Purdue crowd has been very impressive tonight.
  • se-alum
If AJ Hammons brought that intensity on a nightly basis, he would've been in the league 2 years ago.

I figured we'd get blown out tonight. Even more so once I saw loving out. Osu battled but they got a royal boning by the officials and have the dumbest big men I've ever seen. The latter being the biggest reason they lost.

Very disappointing loss. OSU is better and didn't play well at all. Russell got ZERO help from anyone. Scott was bad as usual. Thompson inconsistant as usual. Amir actually had decent game, but nothing else from others. Tate was solid. He and Russell only two bright spots. No question, not having Loving hurt big time.
And not one to complain as I realize on the road you are going to get screwed. But come on, Purdue shoots 27 ft's to OSU 9? And the game was as physical on both ends of the floor. That was obviously the difference in the game.

#31, Dakota Mathias, is an Elida HS grad, a "suburb" of Lima.

They mentioned it like 13 times.

LOL, did they really? What'd they have to say?

This was a winnable game despite the free throw discrepancy. Both Russell and Thompson missed front ends of one and ones late in the game.Amir played OK on offense but was horrible on defense. I know he doesn't have quick feet, but he should, at this stage of his career, be able to anticipate better. With Loving out Purdue only had to guard Russell.

I was really disappointed in the last shot.I know they did not have a timeout but a play could have been called from the bench. I am sure they have practiced for that exact situation and have designed plays that should yield a better shot.

We can only that Loving gets his act together quickly.

Agree with all of the above. And Amir, yes, was bad on defense. Pick n rolls he did nothing to contest numerous times as players drove right past him to the basket. Hell, sluff off and let them take a little jumper rather than a damn layup!

As for last play, not much you can call on a last play with 4.5 seconds and needing to go entire court to get a shot. You want it in best players hand and OSU did that. Any kind of a pick, and a trap would have happened. But I thought Russell could have gotten further down court for a closer look though.

That basically he was bitter that OSU didn't give him the time of day during his recruitment.

@BeauBishop: "lost privilege to wear Scarlet and Gray" - OSU on Loving. Interesting language in that statement.

    Only thing I've seen

Not playing vs Rutgers on Sunday. But this one, whatever it is, is being kept very quiet. Sports Radio guys in Columbus don't even have a clue whats going on.

Very impresssive this day and age to be able to keep it so quiet.

Which leads me to believe, its nothing to serious and just some internal stuff going on. Thought he turned corner a little bit with better effort and attitude and big game vs Maryland. But evidentially, something went wrong. Matta in recent interview said Loving is out vs Rutgers but hoped to get him back sooner rather than later. I suspect next week he will be back. OSU needs him big time as well. Besides Russell, he is only consistent shooter on team.
  • wildcats20
@BBaptistHoops: Matta said the decision to suspend Loving was not his but the athletic department's. #buckbk

That makes me think it's more serious than you do.

The fact it hasn't been released makes me think it's more serious. If it was a missed practice, caught drinking, etc. OSU would just come out and say it. The fact they are keeping it quiet seems like he might need the protection from it...
  • Midstate01
Well they did say he could be back any day. I have no idea what to think. I honestly just figured it was an attitude reason. But since it was brought down by the ATH dept I'd guess not
