Correct and that includes subjectivity and bias in favor of teams in the B1G.pmoney25;1528681 wrote:Handed Titles? I think most people would admit Bama has been the best program the last 5 years.
Subjective and unfair have been apart of the college game since its inception.
Just more reason to finally go to a playoff system even if it too will be replete with subjectivity. Money talks..... -

Ohio State (B1G) vs Stanford (AL #2) - Rose Bowl
Baylor (Big XII) vs Fresno State (AL #4) - Fiesta Bowl
Florida State (ACC) vs Central Florida (AAC) - Orange Bowl

like_thatIf four teams go undefeated, they should just say "fuck it" and allow a 4 team playoff. I'm willing to bet neither of those 4 teams will reject that idea.

Obviously, those projections are based on how things will play out.
I predict everyone wins out in the top 4, which would leave Alabama and Oregon in the title game.
The Big XII winner is the most up in the air.
Oklahoma at Baylor
Baylor at Texas Tech
Oklahoma State at Texas
Baylor at Oklahoma State
Texas Tech at Texas
Oklahoma at Oklahoma State

All 5 of these teams can still win it, and as you can see, we're far from undecided.

They lost last year. Is your argument that Alabama should get an auto-bid to the title game because they won last year? Logic fail.pmoney25;1528506 wrote:Uhh Alabama has won 3 of the last 4 national titles. I think they have a right to be #1 until they lose. -

Which is meaningless, considering they inherited the BCS bid from the Big East. They shouldn't really get a bid...but they doSonofanump;1528986 wrote:AKA Conference USA 2004. -

While impressive, OSU hasn't played a team ranked higher than 16 during that time if remember correctly.ernest_t_bass;1529049 wrote:Neither will be part of a 2-year winning streak...
I want OSU to win it all but based off the CURRENT system, they won't get a chance and the reason is because of the perception that they don't play anyone worth a damn. Is it fair? No. But it is reality. -
ernest_t_bass
Don't give me that bullshit with "rankings." The difference b/t the almighty SEC and B1G is that SEC starts high in rankings, then they drop, while B1G starts low, then climbs (usually). So, SEC teams go around beating each other while they're all Top 10 teams, when those rankings are far from deserved.pmoney25;1529088 wrote:While impressive, OSU hasn't played a team ranked higher than 16 during that time if remember correctly.

I don't disagree with this. That is how the system works. That is why I prefer the NFL. Too much BS in collegeernest_t_bass;1529095 wrote:Don't give me that bullshit with "rankings." Big 10 hasn't risen this year, though. I was looking at standings so far this year. In all the other BCS conferences, of two-loss teams, at most one is outside the Top 25. For the Big 10, of their three two-loss teams, only #24 Wisky is ranked. Only BCS conference with less respect is the former Big East, which has a one-loss team outside the Top 25.ernest_t_bass;1529095 wrote:Don't give me that bullshit with "rankings." That's the ugly thing about college football. It's derived off arbitrary bullshit, such as people guessing who'll be good before the season starts AND pre-conceived notions about conferences. In fairness, the Big 10 hasn't done anything this year to remove those notions, but when you start out the season essentially with a "one great team and a bunch of good to bad ones" reputation, that's a big hurdle to overcome. Every loss or ugly win is blown up by people to validate those notions and you're basically put into a no-win situation unless no one loses a single OOC game and the teams expected to be decent don't stumble at all against perceived lesser teams in conference play. -

Azubuike24I find it funny how the B1G fans are griping. It's NOT OSU's problem. It's everyone else in their conference who has failed to get it done.
OSU is legit. They are as legit as it comes. Everyone knows that. The problem is, and the problem with their argument to make the title game, is their conference has been a disappointment. Not just Wisconsin and MSU. They have had good seasons.
Michigan State lost to Notre Dame
Nebraska lost to UCLA
Wisconsin lost to Arizona State
Iowa lost to Northern Illinois
Indiana lost to Missouri
Penn State lost to Central Florida
Northwestern was 4-0 in the OOC, but are 0-5 in the B1G
Michigan beat Notre Dame
Basically, of the 10 possible bowl teams in the conference, 6 have all lost their "big" OOC game, OSU played nobody out of the league and Minnesota has been a nice surprise.
