I was equally as shocked to see Brad Stevens leave Butler as I am Petersen leaving Boise.

    Seemed like a perfect fit.

I figured after this year he would probably finally leave. UW is a great place for him. Hopefully he does a lot better than every other coach that left Boise. Although Dan Hawkins has one of my all time favorite rants. Really wish there could have been a video for it.

I think it's because the program has plateaued a bit, no reason they did not try to join the Big 12 or Pac 12

I doubt Peterson planned on leaving, but he finally topped out and then regressed with Boise. Why not?

To me, it sort of reeks of "we had a good run, but in the grand landscape of CFB, we can't get any higher", so he went to a major conference team in hopes he can generate the same sort of success.

They're not in a big conference with Boise (and aren't going to be, are they? thought they were going to the Big East, but when things fell apart there, they decided to stay pat), so he probably figured they'd have little to no chance of making a playoff, so there'd be no more of those "shocking upset" moments in huge postseason games.

Well I'm leaving here soon to spend the day in Detroit going to the Mac Championship. Should be a great game and over 20,000 tickets have been sold between the two schools so should be a solid crowd actually. Hopefully BG takes the cake, I won't lie they're a nightmare matchup for NIU which is why the spread is so tight in Vegas

They wouldn't compete in any other sports if they joined the Big 12/Pac 12.

I think that was their reasoning in the past.

    Fuck the Falcons.

On a serious note, I've heard a ton of free tickets were given away. Jeremy Guy gave a free one to every one of his followers, I believe.

and they would have in the big east? Boise has a decent mid-major basketball program. Lets be real, football and basketball are the only sports that really matter (really only football).

They were joining the Big Sky (or Big West or WAC or something) for all other sports when they were headed to the Big East.

I doubt the Pac 12/Big 12 would be cool with that

gotcha. Didn't know that. It pisses me off that the MAC does that. Temple only joined in football but has a pretty solid basketball program. Now UMASS has joined for only football, and they blow dick. Meanwhile their unbeaten and ranked basketball team is still in the A-10. Stupid.

So what we would get to watch Temple and UMass rape the MAC? Haha on a side note a girl in class said I hope BG wins the MAC-10 championship tonight

Wouldn't make any difference for BG, their bball team blows lol. Better competition would be better for the conference. Almost surely would make the MAC at least a two big league.
  • Heretic
Yeah, let Temple/UMass be the best MAC team. As long as they aren't winning every single game by big margins and dominating the league, they'd raise its status. The problem with the MAC is that it's a collection of decent to bad mid-major/minor teams, but none of them are perennial powers that get national respect. They've had teams make good runs in the tournament, but more as one-year wonders that fell back to the pack immediately afterward.

At the very least, adding a Temple to the MAC in basketball would put that conference in the same boat as the one with Gonzaga and St. Mary where you have legit quality that keeps the conference somewhat respected regardless of the quality of everyone else.

Had a nice win the other night, really handled W. Kentucky. They run no offense what so ever though

Where was Ryan Leaf? He was top 2 and some had him over PM.

Hopefully BGSU can pull this out. They're off to a nice start!

I'm pretty sure Kiper liked Leaf over Manning. I remember reading something like over half of GMs at that time also liked Leaf over Manning.

Also fucking NIU's defense is just terrible. I knew it wasn't good but this is so so bad.

They're getting voted out of the MAC before noon tomorrow if they do, schools want that BCS cash again

I just really don't want to see NIU in a BCS game, not at all.

Me either. Bad enough we have to watch ucf in one. Dont wanna watch niu get killed again.

Jesus that was dumb to try a 58 yarder from that spot.

then don't watch it? They didn't even have the worst loss in BCS bowls last year.

Ohio St got their asses kicked in two national championships, is that a reason not to put them in it this year?
  • #1DBag
Deny Florida State. They have two losses in the BCS title game.
  • Azubuike24
For entertainment purposes, this at least means if Baylor beats Texas and Oklahoma State beats OU, we're going to get 2 exciting teams in bowl games.

While the game is meaningless, a Baylor vs Alabama Sugar Bowl would be exciting.
